Hmmm...*reads topic title* ;) Id expect stuff like this for a while yet. Maybe its linked to the zombie collision problems, who knows. Best bet take a break for a while and come back a little later when the teething problems are ironed out. Dayz is still an infant learning to walk in my eyes :)

I really really like that idea. Maybe many different items could serve the same purpose, so for example. If you need some wood to make something, you don't specificly have to find a piece of wood that's made for the job. Any piece would do if you had a knife to carve it into shape. But if you didn't have the knife you would need to seek out the right piece of wood for the job :) -

I want loot to respawn regularly, to keep people visiting towns all the time. I think a lot of the problem now is that pretty much everything we can find has a use, there isn't any chance to go to town and, even if it had respwned the loot, and still not find much of value. Adding junk loot with a high chance of spawning would not only make the place look more ransacked, with emply cans everywhere and generally useless items left over from civilised times. It could also give that feeling that "damn, we were too late" Things like TV guides, remotes, dead batterys, salt and pepper shakers....anything you could think of lol, could water down loot a lot :) -

Oh yeah I don't think our guy should stay in game, just going to sleep should be like a logout timer. Takes a min to fall asleep, then your guy disappears. But if someone makes it to you before you do disappear, they could wake you up with a punch or a shot to the foot, or even shout through voip to get up now or die. Just if you log at a bed you will regain HP very slowly while logged out (maybe just HP not acctual blood). If you log in the wilderness no such regen. Also an after thought was that if you did log in the wilderness, not a bed in a house, or your bag at camp. There could be a small chance to log in sick due to exposure :D

Theres a great little mod for A2 called LandTex. It helps with this problem a lot. You could use it in the MOD, as it didn't require the server to have it or a signature file. Mabe the devs could look into implementing it, or something simmilar http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?149036-Landtex Some good comparison shots there :)

Hmm it sounds good, and I love the idea of going to sleep to log out. But a bonus from doing it at one particular bed seems to gamey. What's so special about your sleeping bag that a random house bed can't achieve the same thing? Id like it if we could log at any bed..anywhere and still get the logged out slow regen. Give it a live ingame timer where your screen slowly fades to black or something as the count goes down. And allow players to "wake you up" if they get there in time. We could still log anywhere but wouldn't get the regen if it wasn't a bed. Maybe push players into towns more, because they know if they log at a bed they will probs have a lot more hp when they log in next day :)

78% survivor... You are the all round DayZ player who depending on his mood will choose whether to kill or not to. You tend to talk to people but shoot anyone who appears to be a threat. At least however you don't go around sniping new spawns on the coast. Sounds fairly accurate :) The one option missing for finding a gun for me was "self defence/feeling secure"....so I just picked "to stop people axing me" :) -

The devs will know its easy.....we can't pass judgement on how easy/hard it is at this point because its so incomplete. All the devs plans to make it harder aint even in yet lol But with the next patch we will see rain effecting our ability to survive, so 2 months in and we already getting a big new feature to help with this. Patience people, let them get there stuff in...balance it....then decide :) As for all the peeps saying they can gear in next to no time, theres a big something from the mod that isn't even in yet, and will help with that....2 words......junk loot ;) -

In the mod ya could build out there, and store cars ect. Our server had to have some custom cleanup thing done that respawned any vehicles left there on restart. We had a cheeky group flying the heli off map to store it lol. Id bet the SA will have something built in to combat that :) -
Dude, give devs a chance. Your judging how zombie hordes will be, assuming that the zombies will still act as they do now. What we have now is mearly a placehoder, while the zombie AI is completely reworked. Once its up to scratch and we have respawning ones, then think about what a horde would be like. Personally I love the idea....crest that ridge, move to treeline, scope out the town.....WTF is that! a huge horde moves through the town and off into the woods. orrrr....scoping out town, take a shot, the massive horde behind a nearby ridge that you didn't see hears the shot. Now a good 50 zeds come running down the hill strait for you like some old battle scene. The hordes could be a natural way to loose a camp, instead of it being safe all the time unless a player finds it. They could make you take refuge in a building if they pass through the town your looting. Stealth could be the best if not the only option for a solo player. Now I agree that zombies aren't a threat but think about this. In the mod we have zombies capable of killing you in 4 hits, and we have a load of em. I think that they will do something similar on SA, super hard zombies AND high numbers. One without the other for me would be a waste of time :)

Working trains, working frigates, working aircraft carriers. All has been available on A2 for a long time through mods, some are glitchy, but with the team having prorper support from BI now, I think its very possible for this to be added :) Tank traps on railroad tracks to derail it?? :)

NO lol Like orlok said the smallest change can cause mods not to work, and in alpha there will be sooooo many changes. That's why we wont get them for a long while yet. But more...I hope theres a year or so period after release where all private hives all stay vanilla. Modding killed off a lot of the best vanilla hives on the mod. Turning them into start gear, barracks everywhere no challenge servers :)

I have no worrys about this. Iv only encountered 1 squeaky little kid so far. But the gameas it is now caters to players of casual shooters. Theres guns everywhere, zeds aren't up to scratch yet, and im sure the hydration and hunger values are a work in progress. When its damn hard to even get close to a weapon because the spawn crawls with zombies that can hit hard, and are hard to drop, I bet a lot will leave the game. specially if an M4 is something you would be lucky to see one of in a entire nights play....and if you found 20 rounds to go with it....you'd feel like you won the lottery :)

I hope they add a poncho with this, would need a few models of it for what im thinking. But it should go ever everything you currently have on (even your backpack). No pockets or anything and takes just one inv slot. Could degrade over time (because there usually just a chap plastic). But then you don't have to mess round with extra cloths all the time....just carry your poncho. There would still be an advantage to finding/wearing a proper raincoat though, because that wouldn't degrade over time :) -
I really dont like current system. Need to be able to break a combat log attempt. Not just yolo kill them. I can only hope they plan on improving this in the future :)

I agree with this over backpacks....backpacks have to be common enough for freshspawns to get one, so if everyone is just making mountains of the things in the woods for storage there wont be any lol. A nice new camping tent model that works, and a very rare drop rate would be much better way to go IMO :) -
Looking at that i would spawn players near the island. I think when the place crawls with zeds fighting your way through to a decent weapon spawn should be hard. They shouldn't be all over the place, just specific areas. Then those paces will be pvp hotspots while players that want more pve can walk the road less travelled. The map has to cater to both play styles. Also with the player count going up, braving the zeds to nwa might be a better option than facing the coastal slaughter.

With the game as it is now, our team struggles to find goals. So for now we are all just split up doing our own thing. When base building and vehicles come in we will team up to do that stuff :) -

I can back this up. I died twice quickly when I was first learning the food and drink system. But since then havent died, and never had a wipe. I did read that about 5000 didnt get wiped in the first "full" one so I thought I was just lucky. But there have been what 2? more since then and I still aint lost my toon. I just stick to the one server all the time, maybe thats it, who knows. Oh and I always wait a few hours or maybe till the next day before playing a new patch :) -
There are simple not enough guns in this game.

I want the days survived counter now! lol I want to post mine for the people that say im lying that I haven't had a toon wipe yet ;) And it was a nice litte insentive to survive as you say If men get beards....Women should get hairy legs!
