Map is fine, it one of the biggest iv ever seen in a game. OK maybe Just Cause 2 beats it in size but no way does that look as realistic. They were all about the gorgeous destruction physics so it reduced the object count compared to a map like chernarus. Id bet that in a 1/4 swath of chernarus you already have more trees than in the entire JC2 map. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed playing through Just Cause, and there map is nice.....but its just not in the same league as even the standard A2 Chernarus :P That must have been a looooong day lol, iv got over a thousand mod hours and im still finding new stuff, deer stand id never spotted, new little pond (found one just last night), or a new place with small thick trees to hide your camp. Jus because you visit each town once does not mean you have seen everything ;) -
When I first watched the episode I read it that way first aswell lol For a sec I was like WTF!?!? :)

Im sure its a little higher for testing, and when you have I dunno 40 zeds with working pathing and a decent attack, it will be hard to get to the loot without taking some damage :) -

Head swivel is awesome and should be an industry standard in FPS gams! You have no idea how many times iv swapped over to l4d and am still trying to use it after an hours play lol :) -

If it was me I would, Remove all 3 barracks from Balota.. Spread out the spawns as in the mod.... Loose the hospital and maybe one barrack from the new mill base south of zelen.... And make zelen just the "jailhouse" building no barracks... Then we get the whole dynamic of pushing inland is the way for guns, meds are all back in cities on the coast. Would keep the guys that live up north having to make trips down south often for hospital supplies, and generally keep people moving round the map. Instead of having a building for everything close by. And as frost says electro/cherno would become deathmatch heaven again, leaving berezino as the one "quiet" city, for the north dwellers to stock up at. -
New Vanilla Chernarus Server - Know of any?

Ours is vanilla private hive with a 4 fire stations spread out across the map and a mill camp on the island as the only map extras. We have only been up a while and your welcome to set up shop. See my sig if interested :) -
Hey guys I recently started admining a server a friend of mine has set up. Everything is goin well except we have no vehicles atm, we are corresponding with the server provider but if anyone has any suggestions, would be welcome. My other big question is, is it poss to add a mod that gives more clothing options....like Celle with the hazmat suits and all the other player skins from arma 2 ? We really want to resolve the vehicles issue asap so we can start trying to promote it, so that's top priority :)

Iv not done a great deal of shooting on the SA, and 90% has been from a nest with a mosin.....iv never had to fire strait after a long run. Do we really not have increased sway as in arma when we are out of breath?? Because im still taking safety stops around 50-100m from my nest and moving in slow, so I can check the area.....but more so im not out of breath when I get there......am I wasting my time lol? -
Well iv been thinking about this one, and I still love it....however.... There are quite a few ways to fight and avoid damage to your hands. The best is open palm, using the pad of your hand to strike with. How about a book or something that once read lets you swap fighting stance when your fists are raised? Could be as simple as a self defence leaflet that is quite a common spawn. Then your options would be something like... Bare fists, reasonably high chance of break Open Palm, heavily reduced chance of break but, less damage per hit Fists with gloves, many diff values for diff gloves. Something armoured like motorbike gloves would be low chance, but don't try and figh someone with your marigolds on because that will still hurt hehe Open palm with gloves, same again but ridiculously low chance to break if armoured gloves and open palm. TBH tho iv never heard of a break from open palm at all.

They took a great mill sim....and screwed with the ballistics....fail lol However Frost brings up a good point, how do we know these aren't the dispersal patterns for a badly damaged gun and that system hasn't been fully implemented yet. Now I could get behind having crappy dispersal on a nearly dead gun, and arma like on a pristine. Then have the attachments manage sway and other things :D But if that's not the case give us arma shooting echanics back + the weather and wind effecting shots. That would be awesome :) Oh and if you want skill based.....bring back mouse acceleration! oops did I say that out loud : :P -

There is a difference between saying GTFO and saying someone might better off retuning at a later date. The current state of the game is a testing playground....it has 0 resemblance to dayz yet. A lot of the problem is un-informed players I think. A bit of research and its clear work on the SA ids marching on. I usually try to point them in the right direction....or outline some stuff that's going on atm. Another is dayz went mainstream. And may not be what a lot of people expected, its very against the grain as far as most games go. No tutorials or hand holding, and an unfinished world. However people that expected it to be nearly finished by now were dreaming from the start, the absolute earliest they told us to expect a finished game is 18months away. That's why I say come back later to a lot of people :) Could the negative words of some of these players be damaging sales right now? Later on the game will be able to sell on its own merit, right now I feel like the formative stages are the last place we need people coming along spouting miss/uninformed rants about the game :) -
This is an awesome idea. Anyone whos had a real fight will know just how much it hurts your hands. That's why boxers pre-gloves never used to hit there opponents head. It was all whiskey and body shots back then....would be nice if they could work that in....punching body does less damage to your hands than hitting head. Assuming we are throwing heymakers, hitting a wall by accident should break your hand outright, and play some sort of very short "in pain" animation :)

Well if you bought 2 copies then I guess its fine. One person with 2 copies cant physicly play both at once but can still do that sniper trick you said. Maybe a new type of login timer based on IP or something. If another account from the same IP attempts o join the same server they get a timer just like a hopper would. As I read the OP he was trying to open another instance of the one game copy and view server list with that (may be comprehension fail though lol) Guess its one more headache for the devs to figure out :) -
I like this, they could do it akin to the A2 heli wreck that you can still use one door gun of. have the top hatch blown off so commander (guy on top gun) cant turn in. Could have it so he can duck, but then cant fire the MG if he is. Maybe a big tear in the armour exposing the main gunner seat to small arms fire. Could have it so the tank cant move and the barrel has to manually pushed around by someone outside the tank :)

How long has the old "full mill" bandit skin been back?

OK so I haven't become a bandit for agggges on the mod. But it happened tonight, I was really surprised when I changed skin to the full millitary one. Not just the balaclava head on a survivor body. But now im thinking maybe its a glitch or something....or am I supposed to have it? If its in intentionally then beans mod team, looks so much nicer this way :) -

Cheers, least I know im not bugged lol I kinda agree, I mean I like this mill one more than just the survivor skin if only for the variation. But there are some more PMC skins that would work well, like the cargo pants with a t-shit one (field specialist PKM) I think. Now him with a balaclava and we got a different skin for each, but both look reasonable civy street :) -

Oh jeeze that sounds bad lol, il try it in 3rd later, never did a bug tracker about it in 3rd but I upvoted the one for 1st cos it effects me all the time. Itl take all the sense of achievement from a kill if I accidently end up seeing someone this way. I guess in 3rd it doesn't give a direct view through the wall in front, with the camera being so far back, sort of have to be at the right angle to move it through. At least that's something lol I cant wait for them to fix it up and make people start playing properly :( -

I loot and shoot in 1pp.....whenever im running round house interiors and I press against a wall....I see through it....not every single wall, but most of the new interior ones. Im talking about through though, not around with the 3pp camera. Hell 1pp will let you see through some floors lol, just prone and roll. Apparently its a camera clipping issue though and will be fixed for both perspectives :) -

This is so true, and part of the reason I wish 1pp was still just a server setting. Make the difference in hives be a gameplay based one using modified hunger thirst values ect :( EDIT - Or even keep it as it is and just make the gameplay harder across the board -
I like the idea, would be easy to counter it with a change of cloths and a mask or something, but at least if caught and photographed the bandit now has to change his appearance and that's just more immersion. Trying to think of a way we could have them uploaded to people. Maybe if we did have a PDA item or something, the police stations could have a server in them. Plug in your pda and get that servers list downloaded into it. Or with a digital camera take the shot, upload to your pda then update the server with a new record. Also allows for fake reports to be uploaded by bandits lol. Imagine a hero group catching you and putting you on trial for your alleged crime :D Maybe 2 photo spots in each report.....identification: a close up of the player.......and a supporting evidence : shot of the crime. Then heros looking for someone to bring to justice can filter fake reports a bit :)

Whats to say they wont make it look all post apocalyptic later on with the cachable static objects. Then its more like... Dayz:The road:With zombies Personally I always felt dayz had much of the feel of the road. Or any apocalyptic setting with or without zombies, its always more about what it does to us as people than the backdrop :)
