OK sounds simple....and it is, I just want to be able to put my hands in my pockets....but heres the twist You can do it with a pistol in your hand, then if you need to, produce the pistol in a fraction of a second. This would be good for bandits and heroes alike. The bandits can convey friendliness and then draw on there unsuspecting target. Heroes can keep a pistol handy for if they do :) PS think of the draw speed like that of raising your weapon from lowered. Maybe a touch longer. Couple of additions based on comments... 1. only certain cloths can hold larger pistols, most would be the derringer. 2. Hands in pockets effects how fast you get cold (only slightly), this would stop people shooting anyone with there hands in there pockets as hiding a pistol would be its only use

Ok so I saw a post about this ages ago but cant find it. Basically all my trees have white "dots", for want of a better word on them. At first I though it was just light passing through ting gaps but its on every pine tree. Never had this issue before upgrading to an ATI card, anyone have the same issue or know of a fix?

Cheers guys gonna try it out later tonight :)

Increase walking/running speed while on incline
Karmaterror replied to LazlowRave's topic in Suggestions
I do agree with this, maybe even allow a sprint up inclines but depending on the grade it could sap hydration like crazy. While we wait though use the old mod trick and run diagonally to reduce the angle, sort of zig zag up the hill :) -
lol......egp trip much, this has to be the funniest thing iv ever read....reality check time... You are running from peekers...nothing more Man up, pick a populated 3pp server, hit num pad enter and really test your intelligence. The only ting 1pp servers offer is a safety net. The guarantee you will not be peeked on. Cheers though, needed a laugh before work :)

Let us build as many as we want, let us run back and use them after death....but (as groover says) make them so anyone can get in provided they have the correct tools. You board up the windows.....Anything like an axe or machete can break through. In this example an axe would do the job a lot quicker. But both would take time. After coming back and finding all your stuff gone,,,,, You brick up the windows....Anyone with a sledgehammer or pickaxe can gain entry, quicker with sledge than pick Maybe you build a door and lock it.....depending on the door type there could be different options... Locked wooden door, sledge, axe, pickaxe....pretty easy to get through. Re-Enforced wooden door.....only a sledge will get through Steel door....Only picking the lock or ambushing the player as he exits for the key So im for keys, just implemented in a realistic way. A locked door isn't too much of an issue when property damage and accountability are thrown out the window :) PS to all the guys holding up epoch. Mods like that spoon feed weapons then give invincible bases to keep them in. DAYZ did not do that....anything you built could be destroyed and raided freely by other players.

Localised Zombie abundance and rewards of cosmetic items.
Karmaterror replied to H.Gareth's topic in Suggestions
Get the mod.....fire an AKM in the middle of Cherno, enjoy the relentless never ending stream of zombies :) They have always said they want more zeds, as mentioned they threw around the number 3000. If I remember though that was in a build without loot. Zombies and loot items both count towards the servers "item cap" so they will have to balance it out, im sure we will see more but they cant do too much heavy optimisation until they have all the features in, knowing what resourses they have to work with ect. Expect a lot more Z's its finished as for an endgame, unique items is a good one, but I think that will be in anyways in the form of loot rarity and global item cap. Vehicles and basebuilding will supply a brilliant endgame aswell. But for me should be no defined endgame, freedom to do what you want as an endgame is part of dayz, for one person could be making a camp, another farming, another PvP. If its defined in any way we loose that freedom -
Its the opposite OP......all the cod kids have left because they realised dayz will become a survival game not another FPS ;)

I want it ingame....but id never use it. In fact, people with gold guns may be the first type of player that gets a KoS always from me lol

Bashers.....YES!! How has this not been suggested before.....how did I not suggest this lol. My basher and tarp are my goto for any trekking. So much better than a tent, much less carry weight, sets up on uneven ground (well not on the ground but between 2 trees) and packs small. It should stop items degrading just like a tent, but you can either store or rest there....not both. Maybe give them a backpack slot, where the pack can hold gear, always hang mine above the basher but inside the tarp to keep it off the ground and away from the weather. Bashers would make dayz really look like it knows what its doing :)

Make more zombies but remove their ability to run.

Ignore "noob" its such a stupid insult. Put into a sentence its basically "your not good at this game cos you are new to it"....what do peeps expect. They should remember....we were all noobs once....in every game we ever played. Teach, don't hate. Anyways it seems your main gripe is that they are buggy fast. Buggy dosent mean abandon the initial vision. It means work at it, refine it....achieve the goal. Don't just cop out with a lame half assed fix *cough* combat log system *cough* ;) Lore says they should be fast Gameplay says they should be fast Im interested how you could see slow movers being threatening, unless they exist in dead rising style numbers I just cant see it, and even then whats to stop me just running away into the trees? Another thing to think about is that the nav for the zombies is sort of a prototype, there will be updates to it and it should improve more and more. Would you be happy with fast Z's if they weren't buggy? -
That's true....maybe it could slow your temp decline slightly, and increase it slightly when out of pockets. Then most would do it making it a true lottery. In extreme cold weather taking off one glove is a way to regulate body temp so its not without precedent :) EDIT - I knida like the weather thing now iv said it lol, but without it people could bluff. Don't unslig that rifle or I draw my pocket pistol (when they really don't have one). Could be a good tactic for fresh spawns meeting other fresh spawns even. The other could call the bluff aswell... "What pistol u got?" "M1911" "Lol inside just your jeans.....liar!" *fist fight ensues* :D

Im confused, we had a hood on the A2 ghillie....so why cant they texture a hood up hoodie, swap it on context selection to the hooded model, and remove any other headgear to backpack (or floor if pack full). I know it would be complicated and there is a reason they haven't done it yet. But there must be a workaround if they achieved it in A2 :)

Have to disagree, Trading happens and is dynamic. Its all down to what you need. On Monday you may trade a vehicle for a tin of beans to avoid starvation, think if you were carrying a vital part for another, better, vehicle. Not only would you loose the car you had, but the part aswell if you die. Then by Wednesday you are stocked right up onfood and would trade it all for a certain tool or whatever. To me that's a brilliant way for it to work. Setting a baseline means nothing has situational value, its always the same value....for me that would just make day conform to 99% of other games out there, and remove all the randomness from trade situations....when they actually occur. I have no doubt that it will be a mod though for the private hives, and to those that would enjoy it I say have at it, for me its a no though :)

I like all of this, more depth to any system is a win for me and this would add a lot for sure. For me, lootable zombies is a must have, even if most of what they carry id damaged or stained with infected blood (needingto be sprayed with disinfectant before prolonged use). Have some beans :)

That's true I made this after seeing the derringer "preview" from that untextured prison building shot, so that was the main inspiration. Maybe it could be poss with some cloths but not others. A hoodie with the big front pocket could do it with any pistol, bar the scoped one. But more standard coats/pants could only hold the derringer :)

Make more zombies but remove their ability to run.
Karmaterror replied to magafe's topic in Suggestions
More zombies.... Remover ability to run..... I want more zombies....but I still want them to run...imagine what we have now but a horde of 15, 20,25,30 slowly building behind you as you try to loose them through a town. Now imagine walking zombies....one spots you....you sit down and watch it amble towards you eating beans thinking "meh cba wasting the ammo, il go for a pee then run away. The only place slow zombies do well is linier games, where you have a confined "corridor" style level. That way they are all focused in to one place. Theres no corner for them to back you into in chernarus so they need to be fast to be a threat :) -
Being friendly is all well and good, im a friendly aswell. But as soon as they show hostile intent...the gloves come off FIGHT BACK MAN!

IMO that's a big miss conception. I spent over 6 months in Malaysia doing charity work. While we in the "1st" world cling to our education people in 3rd world countries are much more versed in survival and living off the land....not as a hobby...not for fun....but as a matter of day to day life. All the kids in the Kampongs (villages) knew full well not to piss in the river and bury any shits in a long drop. They all know that if someone pisses in the river tey get sick, they just don't have the advantages of a quality education to know the reasons why. But they know it happens, and not to do it. I agree Chernarus is not a 3rd world country, Because its close to Russia, I have the feeling that is just a bit of bad blood/ residual propaganda left over from bad relations with the western world. In one of the villages I visited they had a 25km hike, through dense jungle every day to retrieve 2x jerry cans of fuel, that powered a generator to light some of the buildings each night.

Yep unfortunately that number has no real relevance to development progress, as someone else said the would just extend the decimal for internal builds....hit 1.49, ok lets do build 1.491 and so on. As for speed of development, lets take a look at what they have done since alpha came out...and il miss things here for sure... Hunting Cooking Crafting X amount of new towns New Navmesh Loads of new content in item form, cloths, weapons, tools whatever Temp system Fishing Persistence In fact the list of things we are waiting for is getting shorter and shorter... Vehicles Barricading Engine upgrades More zombies Once 3 of those are in what will the mod have that SA doesn't? Now look at what they have done in less than a year, and whats left to do. Development is going fine and they have plenty....and I mean plenty of time to get everything they promised in before full release :)

Things that make me wonder about the whole DayZ deal and idea/direction of the game in general.
Karmaterror replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
I agree totally, even the lack of road wrecks and those shoddy home made barricades with washing machines and bits of pipe making them up takes away from the immersion. The missing piles of corpses and body bags aswell. On the mod server I used to play I did a load of map updates, not lootable buildings r new PoI's, just a shit load of clutter, especially at mill bases to give it that feel. The only thing I can think of as to why they haven't started on clutter and more post apoc textures is that the map is unfinished, and some locations may be altered a lot before release. Once they have the towns the way they want and the layout all finalised for each, I think this will move up the priority list a lot. Gotta build the house before ya paint it :) -
Seconded Just give this guy some cash and port it in....texture quality is amazing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=CfTXu1XmRjQ

IMO this is great, have all the mill spec gear you want, but without basic survival tools your screwed anyway. Don't get me wrong things need fixing and balancing, but I hope that survival requirements always come first. I only started actively playing it again when I heard about all the deaths to the weather system :)

Imgur works great for me :) -
In a game where you can handcuff, force feed, poison, ambush unarmed players......your worried that polluting water sources will lead to griefing.....this game is already griefers paradise lol Might make us think to carry more water puri-tabs so we can be sure that the water we drink is safe. To me that only adds to the survival dynamic, and anything that adds to that is fine by me. I was sceptical about the idea, my gf already stopped playing this game because of force feeding. I wonder how many others would be hesitant with this on the feature list. But its always been a bit of a niche game :) EDIT - Although this feature is more "natural" that force feeding, so a lot my not find it as offensive... EVERYBODY POOPS lol
