Ways to Kill a Zombie we would like to see possible

I think we should be able to kill one with a bike (im thinking motorbike tho....you mean pushbike?) but it would throw us off and ragdoll along the floor probably killing you. Unless ofc you were wearing leather and a bike helmet :) Like all the rest, what if for the zombie on fire attacking you....if you are carrying a jerry can (when they exist) chance for it to light and set u ablaze aswell :D They mentioned a zombie lifeycycle so maybe we could kill them by dragging a poisoned dead body into a town and letting them feast (all depending on what/if infections effect z/s) Would be cool if they fought eachother, idle L4D common zombies that bump into eachother as they wander sometimes get into a fight, that could be a good mechanic. That's about alls I can think of, you got most of them in the OP lol -

I saw a "behind the scenes" you tube vid where rocket even had something resting on W.....I mean c'mon R if even you have to glitch it then its obviously something we need....lets just have the button....pretty please :) -
Stable .50 Ahh yeah forgot to mention I had that on and configured for my rig. I did notice that it helped a little. Well I went a bit nuts got me a new mobo processor and GPU, think I was gonna need it anyway as next gen games on ultra were starting to stress my system out a bit. Went for.. MSI 970 gaming board GTX 970 (cheers for the advice Outroduce) (and I couldn't help it, guess im stuck in my ways lol) AMD 9590 Black Edition (8core 4.7gb) CBA building it tonight so will post results tomoz, thanks again for all the advice....even if I did still go AMD lol Hopefully this will pull it up to playable while I wait for optimisation :)

Aww AMD used to be the best for gaming :( Always used an AMD/Nvidia setup in the past. Il look into some Intel boards and chips today. I did just see an AMD fx9980 (or something like that) was 8 core @ 4.4ghz, might do the job? Also ganna grab a gtx980 4bg just to be sure. Whatever I go for il post some fps results later :) PS, is ram much of an issue, got 8 atm, could grab another while im out and go to 16?

Not :( ....... :) This is one of those little immersive reasons I prefer private hives. Glad to see how many ways there are to break a lock as IRL without tools you could get through most wooden doors with some effort, with something like an axe very quickly. Dunno how I feel about shooting them, sure works in Hollywood but whats a 1cm wide hole in a door going to actually do? Nothings turning the barrel and releasing the whatever its called that actually locks the door. I can only assume that they are going for the destroying the wood around the barrel so either the barrel and (gonna call it) pin all falls out, or separating the wood so the door can swing free while some is still attached to the frame. Either way it should take quite a bit of shooting......for the one shot is it poss that if someone shot a lock barrel the kinetic force could rip the whole lock out? I think with the punching thing they are just testing the system, we will probs see a new animation for the job later but for now they just use punching....could this mean a shoulder barge melle attack aswell for knocking zeds and players down??? I hope so :) -
True, I was in full on trust mode lol....that berezino spawn put biggest smile on my face though :) Happens to me a lot because I believe biggest way to build trust is to show it, lots of my friends from the mod days said they only trusted me at first because of lowered weapon, and I used to offer parts or ammo or heli rides. Its never 100% sure tho, after about a week my trust is pretty high (that's when I used to reveal the smallest campsite and see how they react). Will be good when we have vehicles and proper camps, there will be levels of testing new friends :) Like I say tho never 100%.....I once gave a freshy a lift (in heli) to NWA, took him past 2 crashsites, killed zeds and let him cherry pick. Fucker still said "hang on a sec" when I dropped him off. I knew it was coming but full on trust mode again lol....must be in my nature. Anyways he shot me as I broke ground so I planted the front rotors into the runway and blew us both up :D

I had a pretty good one last night, was near NEA in a police station and this happens.... me: "hi" random: "hello" random: "Lets be friends" me: *puts axe away and walks outside into wave gesture* *BANG* "YOU ARE DEAD" As you can imagine I was a little pissed.....but that's the risk of making contact instead of shooting. Anyway I waited my 30secs and hit respawn.....low and behold I spawn north of Berezino! Knowing what terrain to follow from the mod I start at full sprint back twards the police station.....not stopping to loot....not stopping for anything lol. Came up on town from the market and a quick look up the street I see the guy still there, must have been in my inventory considering wether to take my sks. I didn't even use stealth, I darted into the street raised my fists and charged.....he never even noticed me lol. Ran up behind 2 hits befor he starts the panic, mouse going everywhere, spray and prey attempt. Couple more hits and down he goes.....wasn't sure if he was dead so I hit the body for a good 2 mins while it lay there.....as much for anger management as confirming he was dead. Took some of his stuff and recovered my gun, then carried on like that whole thing never happened. So beware you costal KoSers......you may end up the victim of some joyous revenge if you kill near a spawn point :)

yeah I get that, but its a audio effect from a gameplay choice. I see them as very similar because if you choose to eat someone you get the laughing ect, same would go for sanity...choose to kill someone umpteen times and get some form of audio. Both systems share that spirit of choice leading to effect, not that they are portraying the same symptom :) -

I would go for this, its pretty simple and could work. IMO if the devs do intend to change the camera they need to start now and try multiple variations as alpha goes on. Then we get loads of player data on which is good for 3pp players but will also pacify 1pp players that find themselves in a 3pp server :)

As caboose says its been shot down a few times, but I don't think any of us saw the laughing from eating people coming, and this is in that spirit. I wouldn't want us to see our sanity level anywhere but like cannibalism its behind the scenes apart from maybe the status message. I would lean more to providing first aid, giving food, even just being around people to help keep you sane. I would guess an insane person alone in the woods would just get worse. Also maybe just use it as a detrimental effect like hunger or thirst. No building your way up to hero or social god...your either sane, insane or somewhere inbetween. I am think of a good "realistic" way that lone wolfs could regain sanity though....maybe an anti-depressant tablet spawning in hospitals. -

You know what all you guys that are complaining about 3pp.....should get together, chip in for a 1pp server (or just pick one) and voila problem soled.....you all playing in a populated 1st only server, and because you all gonna go back to it will remain that way. What I mean is instead of trying to change the way other people play find a constructive way to play the way you want to. If my servers were empty id make threads with good populated 1pp server lists. Not come along and say screw half the player base, make them play my way, because I consider 3pp *insert whatever derogatory, propaganda sounding, kid in a tantrum slur you wish*. I suggest and endorse a another screen like the alpha disclaimer upon joining 3pp servers with a disclaimer saying something like... WARNING! You are attempting to enter a 3pp enabled server. This means people can play in the 3rd person perspective and all changes to gameplay associated with that view apply. If you do not wish to play on a 3pp enabled server we have provided 1st person only servers. I swear the extra 360 of your posts are all that vid lol ;) -
Fold my map! Are you mad man! Actually I quite like half slot items, with the map example it could develop some wear lines if you choose to fold it to half a slot, making some town names or roads hard to make out. Chemlights would be a good half slot item to me, stack to 2 so a full slot = 4 chems. Im sure theres loads more that could benefit, and that could have the option to be one or half a slot but with some negative effects :)

Ha ha good point....not too hard to find when ya log back on again tho :) I could see people fighting over control of it, or just jumping on and treating it as a point a to point b then abandon it type of transport. Alls it should take is some fuel and 10 mins figuring out levers to get moving. We got the shiny new physics so maybe have it able to be derailed if taking a turn too fast, could make slowing it down an art so lots of overshoots/collisions and derailed trains. Like having live heli crashes but the players make it happen :)

I thought as long as it was cooked it didn't do you any harm. Eating any meat raw in dayz is always gonna be a bad idea :) -
I like the idea of blood on hands and cloths, but not just for cannibalism....for any action where it could happen. Would add another layer of tension when you have to question the guy you just met as to why he has blood on his hands/cloths/face. There should be subtle ways to tell if they lieing like blood on face means some melee combat happened, so if they sayits all just from searching body that was shot they probs not being honest. Really like having a diff blood colour (only slight though) for zeds.....just adds to the detective work when meeting someone :)

Oh wow....im suddenly imagining a large group of players, all cannibals, moving through a town in the dead of night. The chourus of laughter and crying sending a chill down your spine, echoing from different directions as they check the towns loot spots. And people say dayz is lacking horror....pfff :) -
My idea is the devs write a similar script to this to allow us to drag, and load large crates (that we could fill with supplies). It could also be used for larger items like generators, drag it to the car, load it, unload at destination style. This mod for Arma 2 does exactly this, and its really handy when operating in and around Chernarus... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb7oM6lYNyU&feature=player_embedded (ignore the heli lift part as I don't think wel see those type of heli in dayz) I think this could really push the value of vehicles up and add some more depth to the system beyond just repair. In the above mod you can shoot while dragging (but not aim properly), if the devs could get it working so we could maybe just use a pistol while dragging (and apply that to body dragging aswell) would also help with depth and immersion:)

Im not up for tanks....maybe some random wrecks with working MG's but not fully movable ones. The vanilla mod did have an RPG7 in the loot tables it was just insanely rare, so maybe that hints that they would consider something mildly armoured going in eventually :)

We need the Bandit Campfire section like the mod had.....was there a hero campfire aswell? cant remember
