Yeah, you can use sharp objects now. But your character is retarded enough to drop almost 50% of it while opening with something that isn't a can opener...

I agree with more languages, even more if the "messages as status" system goes on. I am brazillian, and the most of us don't speak english, so when I am playing with friends they keep me asking to translate the messages (til the 1st update). I know it's like impossible to do it now, to someone spend days translanting items' description for example. I think those messages + menu interface are good as the game is pre-alpha. Then they could translate more with time as the game get to its final version.

DayZ Standalone Review - Is it worth getting?

At first look I found the melee system a little bit bugged. But now, after some days playing, I gotta say: it is bugged as hell. :P Anyways, about the loot, not only because it's a pre-alpha and the loot balance, probability, etc., is messy, but the lack of loot it's also because they don't really respawn (realistic idea), so if you want to loot places the best it get out of the coast and head up north because there you gonna find some houses that people havent looted already. The loot only "respawn" when the server restarts. So... :) -

Almost 100% sure that running/walking/sitting will NOT affect anything about it. I read it from a dev post somewhere. Sometimes you get some messages like: "I feel like taking a nap. I feel tired." At first I thought you had to sit down or leave the server, something like that. But it was just hungry/thirsty. Also in the mod the regeneration wasn't depending about your running/walking/sitting status. So yeah, I don't think so. :)

Ha-ha-ha-ha Actually I could swim this morning. But when I got out of water all my items were with an blue status saying "Wet"/"Dump". Cool isn't it?

I think the game is great, even more for a pre-alpha. I can't wait to see the final version. Vehicles (can't wait for this one), a better melee, maybe construction, reworked zombies (orly again devs? xD)... But, as I said, I wasn't excepting so much in pre-alpha. I got suprised, really. :)

Not exactly. When you're full you'll get some messages saying you feel over-fed, that your stomach is completely full*, etc. Also doing this you will be free of hungry/thirsty for at least 1:30h. It's really good to know, because everyone that played the mod before knows that a single can of food/drink would get you full. Not anymore... You gotta eat A LOT and drink A LOT, more than I would in real life... haha. And seriously? It went away by itself? Oh god... I wish I'd be that lucky...

I havent seen anyone talking about it here yet, but I think that a huge problem now is how the whole infection system is working now. FFS, you drink from a pound/river and you die of infection. You eat a damaged can of food (like beans hit by a crowbar in a fight) and also might get infected and dies if you don't find antibiotics. C'mon, this is ridiculous. Your character doesn't have any kind of immune system? Also it's horrible to find antibiotics ATM. So good luck eating damaged food or drinking from pounds. Does anyone know how to use this bloodbag yet? Also like everyone said, the melee system gotta be reworked completely. Zombies... God.... You devs cant make a good zombie ever? Really, I've been checking the progress of the SA for more than a year and: "zombie rework" every week. And they still look the same as the mods, excepet for animations and design. Everything else looks the same to me, sometimes even worse than the mod.

As Statik said, to regenerate food your stomach must be full of food and drink. After that you'll start to get some blood. Also, how did you find antibiotics? I havent found them so far. Actually I gave up trying to find them. As soon as I get sick I just kill my self because I know I am going to die anyways... Just a metter of minutes. The antibiotics should be more common at least at hospitals. :/

I've tested it myself: it does protect you from melee (at least from punches it does). I've been fighting with some guys and when I was using the helmet I couldn't get knocked out (got hit like 7, 8 times in the head). The other guys that were not using the helmet got knocked out with 1, 2 maybe 3 punches. If you respawn and find a helmet soon, you will be protected from those annoyin fresh spawned dudes that cant see anyone and want to fight. ;)

I am looking for antibitiocs since the release. Didn't find so far. Does anyone know which place do they spawn? Don't tell me hospital because I've checked everywhere.

I created a thread about this yesterday and a guy answered me differently. I asked: "Is it better to eat a prefine rotten apple, or a damaged (but not rotten) apple?" And he said a prefine rotten apple is better, because the more damage more is the chance of getting infected. Actually it doesn't make any sense, so that's why I am getting infected I guess. So, please, does anyone know the truth about this? What we shall not eat to get infected, and if damaged not rotten food can get you sick. I wondering this since I started playing.

I have been playing this game straight since the release, just sleeping for 5 hours each day, and haven't found antibiotics yet. Where the hell do they spawn? Their spawn should be increased as infection as easy as fuck to get.

You begin to see everything grey when your blood gets low. At least thats what happens in the mod and happened a few times playing SA. So you are wither hungry/thirsty/sick and dieing. Hope I helped you. ;)

About food (eat a pristine rotten apple or a damaged one?)

This new system is really making me confuse... I don't know what kind of food would get me infected. Sometimes I found damaged fruits, cans, etc., and sometimes I found pristine rotten foods. So logically the rotten ones could get me infected no matter if they are "pristine" (actually I don't know how a rotten fruit can be pristine), but I don't think a damaged can (inside a backpack, hit by a crowbaw in a fight, for an example) would do it. But I am affraid it does. So does anyone know how is it working? What kind of food would get me infected? In my opnion, the "damaged" foods/drinks would just increase a low percentege of satisfication of the player, not giving a chance of infection. Why? It could not be possible to the player eat all the stuff the item offers when it is damaged, and couldn't even do it when its ruined. I mean, you can get more from a "pristine" bean can than from a damaged one. So, I ask you guys: Eat a pristine rotten orange or a damaged (not rotten) orange? You guys follow me? -

Can't open it. I have a screwdriver, a kitchen knife, a stone, a crowbar, a hadchet, all pristine and it doesn't work sliding it to de can and trying to open. Really... how??

It's completely different with me. I found 2 guys today and they asked me to surrender before shooting. 1 of them killed me (because I didn't surrender) and another one just asked me to drop all my food and then run, and that's what I did. Also, one guy handcuffed me yesterday, but (I don't know why) he killed me after that. In my point of view the KoS has been reduced a lot... But there are still many guys KoSing, of course. There will always be, doesn't matter what the Dev does, it's just a personal thing, that's up to the player. After all it's you that control your character, not the dev.

Yeah, I died 2 times and when I relog I was alive again. But the first I came back with almost no blood (got unconscious) and the second time, it worked, but I played for some minutes and then I relog again, when I came back... was dead (lol).
