Possibly when you logged out you left a "corpse" and he had just looted it. Or, when you were loading in, he found you in debug as your character and looted everything from you, and then you spawned? Other than that, can't think of why that would happen.

*thinks back to all the times at Balota airfield* I've found tons of guns there. Those guys who were fully geared probably didn't want you to get a gun and end up killing them, which was highly probable. Just to let you go wouldn't be enough, so it's better for everyone if you were eliminated and they went on their way. Cries of "friendly" and "don't shoot" are squandered by the weight that most people can't trust another's word anymore. Sure, they could have been guys out and about just killing you for the LoLs, but I've had to do this myself and for much better reasons. The fact they were at Balota suggests it was an ammo trip, NV hunt, or something to do with that. If you were in Electro I'd think more toward the 'dick' statement.

Also, sometimes hackers make fake CD-keys. It is possible someone unknowingly created a CD-key identical to yours, but the possibility is slim. It is safer to assume you did something wrong on your end.

Private hives are screwy. Roll-backs, restarts, admins, and other things can mess up your gear and location, but for what's SUPPOSED to happen, yes, your gear and location will be saved, spare the servers that run maps like Celle in which you pick up alternative clothing you lose it on startup. Play Celle, it's great. Be warned, it's fairly flat, but really pretty.

The guy with the Gerber Insurance as his profile pic above me has a pretty good idea of what's going on. Now, since it says bad version, it does most likely mean either you have an outdated version -MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE THE LATEST BETA PATCH!!- or the server does, either in the DayZ_code, or in the beta patch or maybe even just your ArmA version.

I think that the discussion in this thread can be compromised. As your politician, I would like to remind you that I was elected fairly in an official election held by myself, in which I received a 100% ballot vote. The vote took place Monday, April 5th, at 6:13 A.M. There were 1 elections cast, which had my name on it. Anyway, if you could have a graceful server crash, but a spontaneous one, then how could people base their actions on it? Right now, a server restarts with tons of warnings and things STILL get screwed. If that stopped happening, then they could set a default time only known to the server owner, in which is the base time between restarts that the server has to restart again, and also an amount of hours/minutes/seconds that has to pass before the server can think about restarting again. So the server decides to restart, and everything is fine assuming we can make it restart gracefully (I say 'we' because I'm like a soap-opera fan who feels involved in character's choices and am totally involved in the dev team for the mod, and Jamie should have married Brad, not Angela, just so you know).

Ways to Decrease MS in ArmA: 1. upgrade from dial-up 2. get a faster router or motem (not recommended because it probably won't do much, and I don't know how to spell motem, but it'll probably come to me later) 3. check server origin, so you're not living in say the US trying to connect to an Australian server 4. close Skype, internet browser, and see if people are watching Netflix or YouTube as this can increase your MS (which is bad) drastically in some cases 5. join servers with less players in them If I think of anything else I'll put it in this post.

ZOMG, BattlEye hacking prevention!? I could not find ANY servers of DayZ with this on. :P ANY server that is not a hacking server has BE. You're just fishing for features to put on your list here. <_< Other than that, this server actually isn't THAT bad in the sense of vanilla is dead, so I can atleast give you that. Can find a run-around. Brightness and contrast would work but would only make sense if it was nerfed in the sense of how much you can alter the screen. Otherwise they can use the actual system settings in display to fine tune it any more which would not result in any in-game "cheating" In my opinion, atleast I'm fairly certain it wouldn't work out too well, but you know, nothing really will, but you still have to do something... if it doesn't work, then you can atleast say you tried.

Remove -gamma slider Nerf -night vision (or remove entirely) -flashlight duration (add batteries) Fix -lighting glitch with flashlights Add -eyes adjusting to night During the nighttime, I usually use flashlights because they are mobile, and can light indoors, as flares only light outdoors. When I find myself without one, I use chemlights indoors and flares outdoors. The lighting glitch actually gives me away more, as with flares it tends to be not as apparent at that point and the flashlight serves as a LIVE reference to my position. This is my opinion to improve nighttime, other than removing it completely, as when you find yourself in a zombie apocalypse you DON'T go into dangerous zombie-infested areas when you can't see 2 feet in front of your face. IMO, you'd be sleeping. For the amount of time we spend living in our character's lives it makes sense it'd be during the day, because we aren't logged into our characters 365/24/7/12/60/60 (three-hundred sixty-five days a year, twelve hours a day, seven days a week, twelve hours a day, sixty minutes an hour, sixty seconds a minute). DayZ is set 5 years after the infection. DayZ 2017 is set 5 MORE years after the infection. But I'm tired. So I can't confirm that because I can't be bothered to check.

DayZ Celle is a different world. Finding myself in a flat landscape, I look around and assess how such a place could look so strangely beautiful. Everything falls in place. So neat. My love for chaos among order reflected in the splotches of forest and central river tearing through the map. By the time I've gotten well into town I'd looted an M9 Baretta (Rafrica), and M4A1 S.I.R., Soldier Clothing, ALICE pack, and other things. I found a bus. Quickly heading toward the construction site, I hear loud gunfire near me. Talking to the clan that was on the server, I tell them I'm near them, what I'm wearing, and keep my gun lowered. I grab the wheel and head to the bus, hearing more bursts of gunfire. There were now no zombies near the bus. I attached the wheel, got a jerry and filled the bus up, and left town. The other guys were working on a chopper, but I didn't feel I had enough play time to be able to do anything worthwhile with them. Driving through the countryside, I find a place to set up camp in a nice secluded area with trees and flora all around. I get back in my bus and decide to head into the airport to see what I could see. I talked to the guys. Still repairing the chopper. I was at the airfield in less than a few minutes. I got out of my bus and heard a shot. "Pew!" was the sound of silence. I hid behind a ramphart and looked at the player list. Only those guys at the chopper were on. I looked around for it. "Stop shooting at me!" I texted in side chat. "What?" "Pew!" One shot, just like the last. This one hit me, making me bleed. I ran into the woods. Getting to some trees, I quickly hid behind them and bandaged, and continued running, leaving my bus. "Gah! Why'd you do that!?" "Do what?" "Shoot at me! I was at the airport. I pulled up in a bus." No one was at the airport. One of the guys said he went there before and got shot as well. That clan dominates the server. Rarely anyone else comes on it. What shot me? Why only one shot? Why from a silenced gun? What's lurking at that airport? I'm about to go find out. This is a completely true story. I have only played Celle 1 time, and that was yesterday. I have no idea what could have been at the airfield. I'm on orange blood, so going there might prove fatal, but I need to know. Wish me luck. I though you were going to be like "And there should be a food pyramid in the standalone so you have to eat a certain amount of each kind of food every day or you will get fat/sick/dead." I like this better. Believe it or not, I like the WarZ model how some drinks restore a tiny bit of hunger and some salty or fatty foods take down a little bit of thirst. I also think that the hunger meter should be based on meals. The first set of colors represents how hungry you are for the meal. When it turns yellow you should probably eat. Afterward, if you would get to the point where you have skipped one meal and are already hungry for the next, you are starting to starve and it will flash a pale, yellowish-green. Once you've skipped yet another meal it will flash orange for starvation, and if yet another it will flash red for extreme starvation. Then of course you would have to eat a bunch of food to get back up to not hungry anymore, but then that's the beauty of it; you could remain hungry if you needed to, and ration out your food. Might be more miserable but you'll live a little longer that way!

Imagine if getting bandit/hero while wearing a ghille/camo happened... so many would be devastated.

You do know that STH is part of DZH (http://www.dayzhorror.com/) and already has their own Chernarus server? I'm not saying NO, because I have no right to, but just to let you know STH is by no means a new group. This is just a thread for recruitment. You can read more about them on the DZH site, I believe.
