No Sense in Dying Alone - Namalsk (NSDA) [Closed Temp.]
person915 replied to person915's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
APPROVED! Hm...this thread has a duplication bug. No matter! Though I do play Namalsk, after a while I start to miss Chernarus, so I'll play it, I won't abandon Namalsk because I love it. If you like Chernarus too, then we can all play each map for a certain amount of time so they don't get old. Because it will get old, and I don't want that to happen. Oh, and make that TeamSpeak! Thanks a bunch! -
Died on login, now stuck on coast in state of death
person915 replied to Stephen101's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I am spawning with no backpack, and spawning with flashing blood in which I spawn in again, in the same spot I died, lying on the ground, then instantly die again. This is on a public hive too... fixes? -
Gender Selection not appearing in 1.7.3
person915 replied to Oakatsura's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I lost my hero skin a while ago, about a month or two ago, and I have not been able to select my gender also. I would like to point out that I did not nor have ever killed anyone in DayZ directly or indirectly, and have no reason to have lost my hero skin. I don't want it back, just want to know why. -

I KNOW that's a troll... -
I have a legend about Namalsk. I had just spawned in again. Heading into the woods after being chased by some zombies I soon get lost in the woods. I poke around a bit, and I see a tent. Not having any loot, this was a blessing. I was nestled in a small forest of tall firs. The whole thing seemed unnatural, and the tent's foundation didn't look like it agreed with the ground. I went anyway. It was getting dark, so I turned my flashlight on, scanning the area for the zombies or players. Inside, I found a pile of wood, some matches, and some raw meat steaks. I checked the player list. No one was on. I climbed down the ladder, and turned around. Directly in my flashlight's beam, I see a man with a rusted axe staring at me in the face. My fingers went to the 's' and "shift' keys. I was now walking backwards, looking at this man. He didn't move at all. All of a sudden, he broke into a run. I turned around and booked it, running into the forest. While he was chasing me, I could hear inhuman noises and shrill cries echoing across the landscape. I went into a thick layer of trees and turned off my light, lying prone on the ground. The noises stopped. I started to look around, not seeing him anywhere. In an instant, he laid down right next to me, staring me in the face. I got up again and started running. I went through the forest, hoping to lose him in the trees, staying low on contours and changing direction often. Sometimes the sounds would grow louder, sometimes fainter. I ran and eventually the noises stopped, and I finally found a concrete wall with a crawlspace next to it. I went through. I was at the next town. I looked at the player list, and no one was on. Thankful my ordeal was over, I entered a barn, my flashlight on again. While I was inside, I heard a zombie get agro'd and start to come toward me. I turned around to face him, and was welcomed by a hatchet in the face. Again, I heard the shrill cries. Instead of "You Are Dead" popping up on the screen, a picture of a man around a burning campfire was there. The man had red eyes. The shrill cries hadn't stopped. I could now hear them in my headphones, growing louder and louder. I tore them off, and heard the sound on the speakers getting louder as well. I quit the game, but my desktop had now the gruesome picture of a man carrying my character's head with a raised, bloody hatchet. The sounds didn't stop. I turned off the computer, and heard one final cry before the noise was extinguished into oblivion. I come here with a warning my friends. The Woodsman exists. He is there and is waiting. If you find his tent to not take anything; it angers him. If you happen to offend him, then I wish you the best of luck.

You pretty much described my Namalsk group. I'm trying to get it working, have one guy who actually applied correctly. We'll use Skype until I can convince my dad to let me port forward for TeamSpeak, unless you want to use ingame chat. For more info, click the link in my sig. The thread is right here on the forums.

Looking for partner/s to go up to Green Mountain at night
person915 replied to skoomer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I see. I have had some experiences there myself. They say when the sun hits the hillside just right, you can find a radio waiting for you. The transmission goes from a crackle, to a shrill scream, followed by laughter from the same voice. If you listen long enough, the transmission will say, "Always watch your back...." Those that turned around have not spoken about the incident. If you take the radio off of Green Mountain... you don't want to know what happens when that radio leaves Green Mountain. -

Seriously? I want to keep my character's beautiful young face :( -
Read the posts afterward. This was already addressed. After being told by about 6 people I thought parachutes did not exist in DayZ because that's what they told me. NOW, they do exist.
-
Really? 1.7.4.4 JUST came out....
-
Really? The last time I jumped out of a helicopter there was no parachute there to save me. I was pretty stationary too. I guess I'll need to go jump out of another, then!
-
But seriously, for a real answer, parachutes do not exist in DayZ. BUT, ejecting from a helicopter that's going down will give you a better chance of surviving the crash more or less. Just don't eject too soon.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA No.
-
Server is usually populated with about 2-8 people, averaged 4-6
-
No side chat. Just group and direct. Not even vehicle chat.
-
Yeah, watch out for [something]buttmuncher. I ran into him when I was alone on the server. He drives a UAZ. I saw him, talked to him and said I was leaving an all that. Had a clear chance to shoot him, did not, thought he would pass. Then he tries to hit me with a sniper rifle. After two shots and I can't even see nor hear the bullet impact, I am confident his marksmanship is fo' ship, but I log off anyway. No use in dying to a douche with a sniper, a UAZ who probably has everything while I don't. If he really wanted to kill me he would have pulled up closer and shot me. Also, at a time when I almost had everything but food, I was minding my own business on top of a mountain, just about to leave a building when I so happen to get shot by a guy. I was 30ft from my pickup, ready to go and find food. Had a good weapon and good gear. I really didn't see a reason for that. So watch out. I think I got shot last night too, but I don't know. It was so dark I either fell or got taken out by a lad with NVs and a DMR. Anyway, what's your ArmA name again?

Dangers of Port Forwarding for TeamSpeak?
person915 replied to person915's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Ok, so for instance, I use Skype. That requires ports to open correct? Now my dad is the one I'm going to have to convince, and after explaining what I knew then as, "port forwarding is opening your router's ports to other computers so they can connect on a network" and port triggering as "YOU starting the connection to connect to a computer's ports" which I don't think is necessarily wrong, he said "well that doesn't sound safe, does it?". Also, you said your internet opens ports, right? So my dad uses both internet and Skype. He might argue that he only goes on safe sites and only talks to people he knows. If a hacker really wanted to, they could just port in and mess you up, couldn't they? What is the probability of a random attack versus a directed attack on the port in these circumstances? And what about TeamSpeak? These guys run a secure, quality software, and I don't think the possibility of some guys coming on my TS, protected with a password will go through all that trouble to mess up my computer, in which I could report it anyway. So what is the possibility of being in danger opening A single port, and it won't be the default port, and having about 5 people (including me) on the TS? What are those dangers? What is the probability of an internet-based attack compared to a Skype or TeamSpeak one? Finally, how can I port forward in the safest possible way, and what are the dangers and probabilities that I am still exposed to by doing this? By the way, how would I fit it in to host a TS server and port trigger? Possible? One last thing, for your classes and credentials, where did you study at for them? Sorry if this is a bit much or excessive, but my dad is a hard man to convince, and he will need some concrete evidence. And then it still needs to be safe. -
No Sense in Dying Alone - Namalsk (NSDA) [Closed Temp.]
person915 replied to person915's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
DENIED! You did not fill out the application correctly. You are welcome to re-apply at any time. That's fine, it's a forum bug. Generally, you edit the second post to say, "Accidental double post, sorry." Or play it off and edit it to say something cool like, "Get to my application Neko, I'm freezing my ass off here!" In which now I would say, "You double posted and THEN made a new post after those in which your application still was not correct. But... you did give my thread more replies. But WORSE, you made me think multiple people applied because I looked at the reply number in My Content. I'll forgive you if you repost your application the right way." Do it. -
Then go on the Namalsk server and we can run into eachother if you like. I won't go looking for you, I definitely have more need to get food and heatpacks before I'm stumbling through the woods, so if we did meet, damn sure it'd be "magical". By the way, how many dead bodies and AK gunfire did you expect before you got shot?
-
I liked those videos. I'll definitely come back and watch the whole thing when I have time. If you ever feel like playing Namalsk, click the link in my signature!

No Sense in Dying Alone - Namalsk (NSDA) [Closed Temp.]

ACCEPTED! I will accept a US timezone as a "state"; I don't really need to know the state anyway. Anyone who does not live US should post in GMT. Anyway, join the server, get your bearings, and I'll try to set up a vent or something for tomorrow or later this evening. EDIT: Setting up a TeamSpeak, because Vent doesn't support Win64... -
Hello people. It seems like you have a group going, but if you all like Namalsk check out my thread: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/107939-no-sense-in-dying-alone-namalsk-nsda-recruiting/ It's going to be a SMALL group, definitely not more than 8 people, and I hope to keep it at max 5. Namalsk is cold, and you'll be happy when you've got someone else to snuggle wi- I mean help you find heatpacks.... I'm not blushing... it's just cold. Very cold. Apply correctly and I'll see you in game.

Looking for a committed partner to Survive with!
person915 replied to JoeWatkins's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Hello, everybody. Got a thread goin' on for Namalsk. If you like freezing your ass off then get down there!: http://dayzmod.com/f...sda-recruiting/ Check out the thread, you'll find requirements, basic expectations, an application with my info in the example, and maybe a Twinkie. Maybe. So OP, hope I'll see your application down there and I hope you'll do it right! Edit: Though it may seem like I enjoy being some sort of jovial sarcastic sunnofvabitch, I take DayZ pretty seriously. I do not enjoy messing with the zombies, the ramping of vehicles in the air resulting in inevitable brain damage and explosion of the vehicle, or otherwise the shooting of another teammate even with the access of immediate medical care. Do any of that and it will earn you a bullet to the everywhere and you will be sent packing. So don't worry 'bout that stuff. -
Again Bishon, again! Flooding this section with that post, you don't have much care for WHO joins, just want people TO join.. huh? Now, I'd assume you, OP, want someone for Chernarus, but since it isn't specified, I do have Namalsk and am looking for some guys/gals. The thread is here:http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/107939-no-sense-in-dying-alone-namalsk-nsda-recruiting/ You can find requirements, applications, basic rules, and a general overview of why the hell I'd ever want to play with you. Go there, check it out, you like, apply, you do it right, you're in, and I'd be glad to play with you. Remember: There is no sense in dying alone. With a team, Together Everyone [will] Achieve... More or less.... I'm going to go ahead and reserve that T.E.A.M. thing I've got going on there. Yeah, no one use it but me. I actually really like it.
-
Very "warm welcome" considering you just go around here copying and pasting into the reply box on various threads. So... hey. Now you didn't say Chernarus, so if you like Namalsk, I have a thread going. I don't think Skype will suit our needs and TeamSpeak is much better, or vent, though I do have skype until that can be set up (cjdow22). My thread is here: http://dayzmod.com/f...sda-recruiting/ Look over it, you like what I'm doing send in an application if you can handle the requirements. It's nothing too demanding, and it's pretty casual. A basic overview of the rules is use common sense, act with maturity and dignity, and don't f*** up (decide to take the vehicle randomly and crash it into a tree for no reason, ect). It's not going to be a big group like Bishon's, just 2-4 and maybe 5 (it depends how it progresses, I'd actually like just 3, me included) and we're going to kick Namalsk's ass. I really hope I see you there. Edit: Been playing DayZ for a few months now! I've done everything but repair and pilot a heli, a few of the vehicles, and kill a player. But hey, never much got the chance to kill....
