MvG Canada Server- Requesting You Look at Your Filters!
person915 replied to person915's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Yes, I agree, completely irrelevant, but I just kind of observe the town waiting for a bandit to roll by, or a needy survivor. So yeah, it isn't really undercover. More of just stealth, or camouflage. I'll add the full address soon, got some chores to do. Edit: Actually didn't have any more chores, posted full address pretty much immediately after this post was made. -
Same thing happening to me. Does it say Battle Eye script restriction #41? I've been seeing even the server owner being kicked by that, as well as tons of other players. No way they're all hacking. I think we need a hotfix.

I've always been a hero. That guy in the building was my first kill. Would have rather not done that, now that I have.

I committed my first murder...need advice/consoling
person915 replied to Tmull's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
First tip: ALWAYS use chat when contacting someone. And when you do, make sure that you do responsibly. This means making sure you can see him and he can see you, but you can get out of the way and not get shot perchance he sees you, and that you are ALREADY in cover or have means to a position. VOIP provides info to where you are by sound radius and ect. Second: Bandits are usually in ghilles if not camo clothing or bandit skins. Making that assumption is a good one. Third: You kept yourself safe. That's worth anything. You didn't let the danger happen, not let it happen and eliminate it then. -
I killed a guy who came running in after me into a building. He saw me and ran at me, zeds getting agro'd. As he went up the stairs I wasted a half a clip into him and almost died from his bullets as well. That was yesterday. Today, I see a survivor in Elektro. Knowing the danger, I see him enter the fire station, zeds agro'd. I climbed up the ladder and had a conversation with him, asking if he saw any bandits or anything. I could have shot him, as well as dos other survivors I saw in town. I don't see myself as a bandit for that. I did what I had to do. You, on the other hand, turned a few friendly survivors into some midday fun. Gotta give you props for the use of the hatchet, though.

O fate! O cruel mistress, harbringer of death and destruction! It was so sudden. A few days ago, it had been something of an honor I bestowed upon myself to protect those in Elektro. Not only for them, but for myself, who found that after so long holding position in DayZ still had not had a kill was somewhat of an embarrassment. I had gone down to Solinichy to get supplies for my ATV which later I decided was pointless keeping as it flipped all the time and only broke what I strove to fix even more, and upon logging back in from the previous night, was soon combated with the pressing sound of gunfire. Not but moments later did I lie dead next to a tree on the mainland, across from Otmel. I spawned there. With wits as sharp as I tack I hit the deck, searching for my aggressor. He did not show. I swam over with the company of a zombie who thought it wise to follow me. He was soon left behind, not apting to the challenge. I viewed my old self lying on the ground, debating whether to for this once break my code of conduct and take back my things which had been so abruptly taken from me. I took my matches and then stopped. Putting back the matches, I continued up the hill toward Elektro, eager to start my legacy once more, and find the man that killed me. Little did I know that he would actually be there, and that I actually would find him. Exploring the firestation, supermarket, and school, I found 2 bodies among them, one of which had an M4A1 CCO. Alarmed that one who had such goods had been taken down and in the position he was in, I armed myself with the gun, taking note of his 13 bullets left in the clip. grabbing 3 more from local staches. Then, I went to the pub across from the school. Holding shift and my hopes there that no one would see me, I ventured across the road. "Graaaygh!" The sound penetrated my ears. The translation: "Get up in the pub, climb the stairs, and kill anything that tries to get in!" Doing so, I take up position and wait for them to flood in. I see a zombie zip past the door, now expecting them to arrive at any moment. They did not come. The thought surfaced back to the front of my mind to the barrel of my gun. "I'm in Elektrovask." There was a player, attracting the zombies. Preparing for what might ensue, I set my gun to auto and waited. They say that when things get real, things have a way of slowing down, allowing you to see every grotesque detail. In this case, there was a flash, and I quickly identify a player with some sort of AK, coming up the stairs. Luckily, he was right on my crosshairs. Firing, about 10 shots penetrated his torso, then following moved up to his face when he continued up the stairway, then stopped to fire at me as well. My screen turned black and white. I noticed the 15 now apparent at the top-right corner of my screen. Also apparent, was the obituary at the opposite corner. Hammerman has been killed I did not have time to ponder this happening. Zombies were flooding in, and I, with broken legs, was bleeding on flashing blood. Crawling away, the zombies did not detect me at first glance, which is why I presume they gave me mercy, as I surely would have been in trouble had they decided to attack. Hearing more footsteps and fearing for retribution from a nearby ally, I took myself to the end of a long hallway, barrel gleaming from the overhead light that shone through the windows. I bandaged myself. It seemed I was bleeding from multiple places. After consuming half my bandages, I was no longer bleeding, and on consuming my canned goods, now was not blinking. But I wasn't out of the woods yet. I still had broken legs. Nervous, I ventured down the steps to explore the man I had just eliminated. I got morphine, used it, now glad that I could walk. Knowing the dangers of going outside with red blood, I decided to keep myself alive longer and stay inside, fearing that narcolepsy would take its hold whilst I pursued my freedom. Still warm from the adrenaline spiking in my system, I noticed he had some gear that I had previously. He had an M1911, all the same tools, and an AK, which could have very well been the weapon that killed me. But my body had not been looted when I got to it. Either this was not the man or he came back and looted me afterward. Analyzing, I wondered if I had done the right thing. I'd always held myself to be a hero. Here, I had just shot a man. I piled up the details. -after I had crossed the road, well in sight, he had agro'd some zombies -upon entering the building, he had glanced at the first room, then continued toward the stairs, where I was. He must have felt pressured by the zombies following and for that reason did not check the stairs, as he probably assumed I was unaware of his presence as well. -he made no attempts to contact me -he shot at me as well There is me, wondering if I had killed a bandit. I suppose though, that I got what I asked for. I wanted a kill on my belt, and I got one, though a survivor, not a bandit. It might have been vengence, or he might have been someone else. All I know is that I killed a man, and now I'm going to have to live with that. It's going to be one party getting a hero skin now...

Has been long since I started playing DayZ. Through my time playing I've seen some things, did things, and experienced things like no other. But it seems the thing that haunts me the most is a strange noise that permeates my ears. It sounds like a beep- possibly a car beep, faint and far away. But it's there. It comes sometimes when I'm least expecting; lost in the scenery or focused on the road ahead of me. And it seems, coincidentally, that I can hear this noise when ever a vehicle is near. NAY, it not be another player that sounds the horn, for I have known the sound even when I am the only soul in the server. But I know when I hear it there is something waiting for me.... So I ask to you, do you have a mysterious sign? Something that alerts you to a nearby presence that you know the result of is by some off-chance bug or engendered by something you can't explain? The Technical Version of the Above Post

Rumored that if you hear flies that, like you said, move with you, it is a bad omen for death to come. Whether it is you or another is a different story.

I have turned into a freak
person915 replied to Anarki (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The only problem I have is loss of humanity from killed survivors. Usually they're at that stage that is in between survivor and full bandit. I say, if they have + a certain amount from the originally humanity, then it should count. Maybe I should visit suggestions. -
I'll be coming to the TS later today, my friend would have helped me but my server connection to ALL servers went up to where I got kicked within 5 minutes, even if I only ran required system background processes and then just DayZ. He said he might not be on today, so I'm counting on you guys to get the job done. It's gonna be a kicker if my first kill warrants my first death too.

I tested the beeping noise. Was on my way to Elektro from Cherno. Heard the noise. In front of me, only spawn points were at Cap Golova for a bike. Solinichy for and IDK, and Pik Kozlova for the ATV. Nothing at Solinichiy or Cap Golova. Next to the mountain, the beeping stopped. Went up and found the ATV there.

Not particularly, unless eyeballs surfaced out of the cereal bowl and started blinking. But that isn't too original nowadays. Ugh.. now I'm kind of creeped out. Good thing I ran out of cereal two days ago...

Need Medical Assistance in the Mod? Find a medic here!
person915 replied to Dr Wasteland MD's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
A: Your in-game name: Wanderer B: Your condition/ailments: Blood Status: Dark Red. Need Blood Transfusion and Bloodbag C: Your location: Elektro, In the pub next to the Office/School building, in the first room on the left if you enter through the door that has stairs directly in front of it. D: A general description of your character: Normal survivor skin, Lee Enfield and M1911. I would get to the hospital and get a bloodbag or go hunting, but I could pass out given my condition, and being in Elektro and being unconscious is not a combo that you'd wish upon yourself, especially being close to death. More details on my situation can be found here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/109168-a-cruel-mistress/ but note that it is purely for recreational viewing and probably won't help you in the long run. -
Wasn't explaining the noise. Explaining the black figure. Actually, if you look back in this thread, you'll see tons of sightings of this "black figure". It has led me to believe that it is one or more of a few things. Number one on the list of possibilities: Yo' mama. Number two: Slendy Number three: rocket Four: A freaking legend. Of course, it might be your mom rocket disguised as slenderman who became a freaking legend. Those are my theories. A proper investigation will ensue in the later days. Any worthwhile findings I will compile and write here for all to see.

Going Unconscious upon entering a server (not in shock)
person915 replied to Epsilon 349's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This works. It sucks that we're kinda forced to update to fix it, but it works. -
Once, I was positioned in Elektro when I see 5 men start to pop out of a wall, guns raised. I freaked out, then realizing they were zombies, as they lowered their "weapons" and their skin loaded. Your specter was most likely an entity spawning in. Still, we don't know....

What if we could bathe the bullets in zombie blood? That would cause quite bigger a reaction up on entry, don't you think?
