In that you would be east, I'm pretty sure. Stary and Novy is north of Pobeda and NWAF is west of Novy and Stary.

I just love this form. It's so true. Who's the original author?
-
I meant your MS Paint skillzzzzz. :P

Epic circling skills, bro. Maybe in the SA we see only public hives else LICENSED SERVER OWNERS? You know, trustworthy people of sorts. Oh, and hopefully most of the CoD and FPS Generica consumers GTFO by then. Sounds to me like all John is would be a "FPS Generica" kid with too much money and too much time spending both of those in the wrong place.

I don't understand the legend here.

Just a simple question or two: How cold is it in Namalsk at night compared to the day? Because right now, I'm dying. My temp is flashing, I can't find heatpacks, and my blood is going down (the zombies I couldn't see by the deerstand didn't help at all). Of course I logged off for the night; no sense in dying like that. Will I still be freezing when it's light out? When I respawned with my current character, it was dark already in-game, and I was instantly shaking from the cold. Is that going to be the case when I log back in during the day? This thread is in New Player Discussion because I am very new to Namalsk if you could not tell.

200 vehicles and and Enfield with 2 mags on spawn? Right, this is a vanilla server for sure. I'm talking NO GUNS on spawn, and barely anything but a bandage and painkillers, maybe something like a watch for extra, and that's it. This is not what I'm looking for, and is just another server in the hype. Come on, now....

How About We Start Playing This Game?
person915 replied to person915's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No, he gets it, I think. The way I interpret it is that he thinks that the way you take and view the game depends on what you get out of it. For instance, Minecraft could be a silly little block world where you break blocks, then replace them, OR, it could be an amazing terra-scape where you can create anything you set your mind to. At the base, DayZ is ArmA with less guns and vehicles, no unification, loot spawns, and zombies. And the point of this thread is to say that if you think about it a certain way it could be so much more than that, and the fact that it can be will make it the fact that it IS. Thanks for the defense, tho. :D By the way, started a Steam gaming group, and it goes beyond DayZ (Minecraft, LoL, GMod, Counter-Strike, ect) but there are no FPSs like CoD, BF3 ect, the ones that produce crappy community members. I'll put the link in here in a moment... Edit: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/westernfrontgamers/ YOU MUST LIVE IN US TO JOIN! Thanks you :3 -
Oh. You should have told me it was in there. BTW, did you know your server info was in your signature?
-
That's great, but Y U NO GIVE ME AN IP!?
-
I would have donated, I have a prepaid, but I don't think there was a site, or atleast I didn't see one. Not to mention they did not really ask even in the MotD. I only got 3 hours on that server! It's safer to assume that since they are now running a new server they have the money, they just turned soft. .......... BTW, thanks a bunch Orlok, for giving me my 100th can of beans!

God, this forum never sleeps! So many posts and I stayed up almost till midnight last night (like every weekend night). I don't have time to read them all... Well, the patience. Anyway, you can make your own story up, but then what? It ends there. If you have the ability to find out what happened, and piece it together, where it may come out differently that others' interpretations of it, then you have something. It's a progression. It's not really a "main questline" but something you can pursue and try to figure out, and keep you occupied, instead of "loot, die, repeat" cycle that most players follow. It gives the game some substance and it makes you feel involved. You may find one thing but then find another and it changes your opinion. Did the infection have multiple causes, or just one? How can I study this? Can understanding this infection help me fight zombies better? And trust me, rocket & Co. are not the kind of people to make a half-ass story for how their work ethic is and what they do. It'll be a good one.

I suggested this once. Give the player the ability to find out this but don't have it known, like the intro to fallout. And in the end, to prevent people posting it, make multiple reasons that it happened, so no one really can know.

I apologize if this request may seem to picky, but unfortunately I'm having trouble finding a decent, suitable Panthera server. At the moment, it appears the server cache has filled up with absolutely crappy servers, full of people who think having everything on spawn and vehicles within 12 feet of eachother is fun. In fact, this is so far from what DayZ truly is I don't even think they should be listed! So, where is a server I can find that has less than 100 vehicles, no extra weapons, just DayZ weapons, and a decent spawn loadout that is not at all different, or very small in variation, to the regular spawn gear? Looking in DayZ commander, I don't even think a server like this exists. Absoulutely ridiculous. Shame on you community, SHAME ON YOU! I want to play DayZ, not Zombie DayCare where you can have any toy you want without working for it. I found ONE server, but it appears to be down. I want to play. I have a problem. Anyone have fixes?

That is my point. This is a suggestion. One that will never be implemented. I have not stalked rocket's threads either, or else you would see a quote box in my post, stating exactly what he said. Dean did say he was removing all unecessary features from the game, and I do remember him saying the zombies don't need to know formations, tactics, and orders. And of course he never ruled out anything about doing what you're doing (to my knowledge) because it's implied. The thing about DayZ is that it's completely authentic. Every experience is created by one or more players. Not to mention that, but also, rocket doesn't want to punish bandits. He has made this point numerous times.

Sir, the question was never about who was talking about what. Rocket has no time to be adding military NPCs. The team is getting rid of all the NPC knowledge of tactics and such, because zombies are stupid. Still, DayZ is a survival game. No one is here to save you. No one is obligated. You have to take a stand, and I'm telling you, there's no other way. This idea will most likely be stolen by Titov, and Dean is too good for this. It is not what he meant DayZ to have. I know this because he talks about it all the time. You have to stand up for yourself and others, otherwise there will be no one else who will. So you can either pick up a gun and go fight those bandits... ...or watch the empty street. This is the free world. Do what you want.
-
Everyone! Read this thread! http://dayzmod.com/f...ying-this-game/ The point of this post is to say that YOU players need to BE the "military". DayZ is harsh and lawless, and it's up to the community to distribute rules and bring justice back to the world, if they so choose. You want some civil protection against bandits? Be the people who do that. You could be those bandit hunters, the ones some call heroes, or who some call mettlers, some call enemies. If you want this to happen you need to take it into your own hands.
-
Get over to EA quick! I'm sure they'd love the idea of a zombie expansion pack! As for being in a group, I say it all depends who you spend your time with. Birds of a feather flock together.
-
Yeah, DayZ is a boy's club, isn't it? Plenty of girls but not compared to...
-
Ok, just tell us how you could possibly implement these features and we'll go from there. Some of them aren't too hard, but..

How About We Start Playing This Game?

Mountain Dew? The holy grail of DayZ. Actually, it's more like Root Beer. Been trying to find a can of that since Day 1. Still, finding a mountain dew would be a tedious and proving task of such an initiate. Still, don't tell people how to apply here, if you want it to be REALLY special. Find a guy, hide, talk to him in direct. Say "I can show you (insert whatever you can offer in these next statements). All you have to do is follow my instructions. You, me, Green Mountain, top of the radio tower, 3 A.M. (Insert TimeZone here), bring Mountain Dew. P.S. No homo." -

No, it's more of everyone is caught in the hype, or just doesn't see. Till now, games have been very visual, and most media alike. It hasn't challenged us to go deeper. See what's really there. In DayZ, floating just beneath the surface, you have everything from a questing system to character bios at your fingertips. There's just no direction. This is your direction. The wake up call. Now you can identify those goals. Add them to your personal journal. Feel like you've earned a territory even if there is nothing declaring you have. Because now you declare it. In the standalone, doing these kinds of things will be much easier. I think radios for word of mouth, inclusion of clothing for uniforms, (and disguises), and books/journals especially, as well as maybe what could be added, such as warning signs for you declaring your turf, ect will increase the effect. Remember that this isn't just about you. Your story is just as good as anyone else's, and you can make it better. Spread the information. Maybe rumors. Be decietful and cunning, or helpful, or just talk. We need these things to be reinforced. Help eachother out. Or destroy eachother. Just don't go nuetral. See you in Cherno.
