I didn't read all 73 pages. Does anyone know if there will be any kind of a disconnect-timer preventing disconnecting while in combat in THIS update?

Ha! I have one story for you guys - yesterday i was a bit bored and i thought it might be funny to run around in Cherno/Elektro, seeing how fast i can equip myself and NOT trying to shoot other survivors/bandits. Everytime i would see another player, i would try to talk over voice with him. First time i got shot by 2 guys, i had no weapon at all. Second time i found a nice guy in Elektro, we looted about 10 minutes together, until i got shot by a sniper at the Elektro hill. Next time i got shot trying to talk to another survivor... My last run was hilarious: I spawned in Cherno, looted all the buildings in about 15 minutes, got myself an AK with a M1911 and lots of food/drinks, i decided to head to the Balota Airfield, maybe i will find "another" nice survivor. When i approached the first hangar, i read in the chat "friendly?". I stopped and answered "yes, i'm friendly" over voice. While i was talking, i noticed someone stood behind me. I slowly turned around and saw a survivor behind me. But before i could talk to him, he opened fire at me, i only could scream "DON'T SHOOT I'M FRIEN..." and i was dead. I still don't get why he killed me, i almost thought i found another nice guy.

hey guys, so, i never had problems playing DayZ and i always use the latest updates and beta-patch. on sunday, i played a couple of hours with a friend of mine and as we wanted to play on monday, i always stuck on the "loading" screen with a bar which is filled. i'm able to hear in-game sound for about 1 sec, but then i'm stuck at the "loading"-screen and i can't press ESC to get out of it, i have to kill the arma2oa-process. i tried different servers, some were almost full, some were almost empty, but i always ended up stuck. at this time, i was using the latest DayZ-version with the 94444 beta-patch on a RETAIL arma 2 OA version. after 5-6 tries, i decided to change my CD-key of OA, because i have another one i bought pretty cheap a while ago. so i changed my CD-key and tried to join a server and it worked, so i guess it has to be a problem with my character, maybe corrupted data? so i played a bit with my other CD-key when suddenly 1.7.2 was released with another beta-patch. i downloaded DayZ 1.7.2 with the new beta-patch (94700) and tried to join a server with my OLD CD-key. but again, i got stuck at the "loading"-screen. yesterday, one day after that, i decided to give it a try again, i joined ~5-6 different servers but everytime got stuck at "loading" and everytime i had to use the task-manager to kill the arma2oa-process. so i don't know whats up with it, anyone got the same problem?

I think you find your player ID when you click on "Edit profile" when starting up Arma 2 OA.

I can happen very easily. I accidently flattened one tent of my own camp a while ago.

Was on the sniperhill north of stary with a few mates yesterday. Encountered 10 different ppl in ~3 hrs. Shot 4, my friends shot 2, 4 other disconnected. Pretty good at stary i think. :)

Hey, i'm asking if there is a way to find out on which server a player is currently playing, when the only thing you have is the username. I know there could be 100 different users with the same name, but is the in-game browser really the only way to check if a specific player-name is currently on a specific server? Maybe you know game-monitor.com or other web-plugins which shows some details of the server in a browser. I hope you guys get what i'm asking.

wtf man. five of my friends and i were at the NW airfield yesterday. four of my mates looted all the buildings and one mate and i were on the other side of the airfield with snipers supporting our mates. in about ~1:30 hrs we encountered six strangers, all from different directions on the airfield and everyone fucking disconnected as we were starting to shoot at these guys. someone even disconnected after he shot at us and missed. one guy got hit by us and disconnected while bleeding, the other ones disconnected as soon as we opened fire. in the end, we only got one guy which didn't disconnect as we were starting to shoot at him. this sucks. i know we should have aimed better at these guys, but it's fucking ridiculous.

Hey guys, two days ago, i found a helicopter (Huey UH-1) on a server (1.7.1.5) which had helicopters enabled by it's description. It was fun flying around and i did not encountered any bugs. So i hope helicopters will be enabled on all servers in the near future, i know it's in a testing stage as of now. Does anybody here also found a helicopter in one of the latest patches and encountered any bugs? And is there a list with all servers which currently spawning helicopters? As i said above, i filtered the server by the description "heli" and just found one server.

Yes there are TP-hacks that allows the player to teleport anywhere on the map.

It's always dangerous to park your vehicles right next to your tents and it was the fault of the guy who used the horn, so you don't have to feel bad about it, not even a bit. And yea, it's really astonishing how often you meet other ppl, even if the map is 225 km² large.

But the vehicle should still be there, even if the players disconnected.

It should work fine.

They may have disconnected. IIRC the bodys will last 15 minutes when disconnected from the server. If they didn't disconnect, the body should lay there a few hrs.

Yea, it was a fun-server.. i didn't know that these are not connected to the main hive server.

For me, when i'm bored or don't know what to do because i just found everything i need, i bascially team up with a friend and just wandering around trying to find bigger camps with cars which we can steal, so most likely we head way north and start searching on the edge of the map. If we are lucky and we found some cars, it's always fun to steal them, driving to our base, if not, not a big deal, because we are so far north, we can easily go to the NW airfield, or Stary Sobor where the chance of finding other guys is quite high and you never know what will happen, maybe we find a friendly guy which can team up with us, or we'll get into a nice gunfight. One thing i definitely learned is, it's way more fun to actually use your found gear and not being afraid of dying and collecting all the good loot into tents. I started playing DayZ collecting all best gear, but never used it. Basically it was like "Yea, i have everything i need, LOOK AT THAT SHINY M4A3 CCO SD" but never used it.

Two days ago, i was wandering around on the coast near Krutoy Cap, when i suddenly saw 2 persons lying on a bigger rock with weapons which looked like sniper rifles. I decided to check out what was going on there, so i ran into the forest to came up behind them. As i slowly approached the rock, i was a bit suprised seeing that there are 2 guys with sniper rifles looking at the coast, while another guy was checking out the coast with binoculars. I watched them a few minutes while i was laying on the ground behind them in my ghillie-suit. These guys were obviously hunting people on the coast and i didn't liked it at all. While all 3 was looking away from me, i crawled onto the rock, set up a satchel charge, stood up and ran away into the forest. I turned around and saw 1 guy standing up and looking at me, ready to shoot, but it was too late - the satchel charge blew up and all 3 guys died, i ran to their bodys, checked the gear and took off.

Hope is still there guys, it all started yesterday evening, as i was logging in to the game. I logged in east of Elektro with an AKM + Revolver, each with 4 Mags. I had nothing else, just some tools, but nothing to eat or drink. I was on Teamspeak with a friend of mine, we wanted to meet up, but he was far away, so i decided to head to Elektro to loot some buildings. As i was running while in Elektro, i aggroed some zombies and eventually got hit by one and i was bleeding, losing around 300-500 blood per second. I aggroed too much zombies, so i thought it is a good idea to just run away, trying to hide somewhere. So i was running through Elektro, abot 20 zombies behind me, i killed a few, checked my gear and saw that i have NO bandages left, at that point i was at about 8k blood left, so i fucking ran to all spots in Elektro where loot spawnes, followed by a shitload of zombies. I managed to not find any bandage, while i was on 1,5k blood, i stood infront of the hospital, desperately shooting the glass of the building to get in. Inside the building, i finally found some bandages and blood-bags, bandaging myself with 800 blood left, falling unconscious every few minute. Good thing was, at that point, the zombies couldn't get inside the hospital, they were stuck on the glass. I decided to relog, so all the zombies were gone. After relogging, i saw that the glass of the hospital was fixed, so i couldn't get out. My plan was then to shoot the glass, and just ran out of Elektro. Unfortunately, after unloading a AKM mag into the glass, i aggroed again a shit ton of zombies and the glass didn't even break. So i relogged again, so the zombies will disappear. I was literally trapped inside the building, and i was falling unconscious again.. my only hope was another player who might can help me out here. So i start screaming over voice-chat for help, after a few minutes i saw a survivor who ran right in fron of the glass from one side to another. He had no gun and was chased by ~10 zombies. The zombies finally saw me and left the running survivor alone, but came to me instead. As i wrote above, they couldn't come in, because of the glass between the zombies and me. My thought was then, to relog, so the zombies will disappear, then trying to scream over voice-chat for the survivor who just passed me. Done that, and the survivor came back to me, standing in front of the glass with no weapon, asking me where all the zombies are which were just chasing him. I told him that i relogged and he told me over voice-chat that he was new in the game and has no idea what he is doing. I told him that i will shoot the glass with my few ammo left, then he should come inside. It worked out, i killed all the incoming zombies, then asked my new friend if he can give me a blood-bag. He answered that he didn't know how to do it, so i told him a few basic things about DayZ and the gear-options. So i gave him a blood-transfusion, and so did he. I decided to drop my AKM for him with 2 mags left, because he had no weapon at all and i still had my revolver with 2 mags. Eventually, we fought our way through Elektro, heading to the barn north of it. As we were approaching the barn, we saw the message that the server will be restarted in 2 mins. We tried to get inside the barn, but got a "Session lost" on our way. I relogged, but my new friend didn't came back, i'm guessing he didn't know on which server he was. It was a hell of a fun, even if we didn't played that long. It also changed my mind about killing people on sight. So yea, it was my first time teaming up with a unknown dude, you see, there is still hope. Not everyone will shoot immediately on sight. :) tl;dr: You should really read the story. ;)

@Remix: I'm not sure about this, yea he was new to the game and had no weapon, but when i was new to the game, i basically tried to kill everyone on sight or hide from them, when i see there is no chance to take them out. But this guy just stood there, totally relaxed. Seemed like a really nice guy from his first sentences.
