    Whoa there buddy, you've demonstrated a misguided line of reasoning here. Spending money on ArmA II does not entitle you to a single byte of Day Z data. You don't buy Day Z, you buy ArmA II, and an independent entity is in control of your ability to play Day Z. Spending 30$/20£ on a game with the intent of playing a single mod is fine, as long as you understand that you have no rights for that mod, only revocable privileges. Players who are banned from Day Z are more than welcome to check out some of ArmA's other fine mods and missions.

    If waiting for server fades into the debug forest, should we drop back to the player lobby and reinitialize the world? Not the server browser, the intermediary between the server browser and the game, where in normal A2, players pick their slots for deployment.

    The quality of a game's player base is inversely proportional to its size. That, and Day Z has been featured on Kotaku, and that never brings anything but the bottom of the barrel.

    Thank you for snarkily jumping down our throats. I can assure you that at least one user had no idea that having patience for 'waiting for server' would eventually clear the problem. I spent forty five minutes this evening waiting before giving up, and the last ten minutes were spent dropping to lobby and re-joining, because I came to the conclusion that the time spent waiting for server was not a queue, but a refused connection that had frozen. Very few people playing this game have any idea how the backend works.

    To everyone advocating that PvP be removed, nerfed, or otherwise altered to be less widespread or effective. What do you feel you are entitled to, and why?

    Question regarding helicopter

    HitHull is the physical condition of the hull, pared with scrap metal. HitMissile is the catchall for everything else wrong with the helicopter that isn't Hull, Eng, Mrot, Atrq, or Inst. I've found that fixing HitMissile can 'unbug' a fuel leak or wonky axis of blade rotation.

    There's nothing preventing you from renting your own server and doing the same thing. How much fun would this game be with 5-10 people? Legion's working hard to give us the answer on that one, actually.

    My point, Derby, (and I'm sorry for being frustrated) is that arma is so big. It's so, so, so big. And people from dayz are playing it like it's BF3 or CSS or MW3, and they're driving down the MSRs at a full sprint, or they'll "flank" by going not even half a kilometer around into the first few meters of woods, and they seize upon any reason to decry that it wasn't their fault, they're not unprepared for the harsh realities of a game this size, that it was those evil third person players cheating. They won't, or can't, understand that this much size means that if you aren't picking when and where your battles are happening, you genuinely are a bad player. You're not unsalvagable, but you don't understand how arma works, and you need to learn. There's no requirement you engage the enemy on his terms in ArmA, it isn't a corridor shooter. Getting down and dirty into the details is not something arma does well, and TPS is a crutch for the parts of the game that are.. a game.

    What part of this is cheating? Cheating is, by definition, doing something outside the rules or boundaries of a game or sport to gain an advantage or alter the outcome. Third person view is not cheating, as it is available to everyone if it is enabled in a server. You are attempting to describe a feature you do not like or agree with as something outside the bounds of fair and legitimate play. There are servers in which a player's situational awareness is forcibly crippled by a lack of third person view availability, and should those servers be full, a spot will either open shortly, or other servers can be made available. Finally, if you're in a position where third person view is the reason you died, you're bad enough at ArmA that nothing and no one can save you. When you have 225km^2 to plan your axis of advance, and you let it come down to whether or not someone could see you over a chest high wall, you're the bad player, not your opponent. If you're that bad, then after you've crusaded for the successful removal of 3rdperson, you'll need a new scapegoat to blame on just being bad at a game.

    Holy crap, seriously? You're not into mil sim, but you bought one of the few peices of software on the market that's designed to be as milsim as possible from a combined arms standpoint? That's like going to tim hortons if you hate coffee and doughnuts.

    Well, congratulations Swayze. You're disagreeing with everyone here and telling them that the majority opinion is wrong and your carebear approach is the only correct way. You're ignoring arguments you don't agree with, constructing strawmen, and performing ad homium attacks like this one. If you don't think the mod will survive, jump ship.
