  1. Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community (not a clan) that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have many members and clans within our community supporting Day Z that team up in groups using our TS3 Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We have over 200 registered Day Z players and most of them team up in small groups, or "fire teams of of 4-8 players. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! I must stress we aren not a clan at all, we're just a community for casual to serious players (it's upto you how you use our community) but we do have our own in-house "home" multi-game clan within the community. There are also other affilaited/friendly clans and groups within our community playing Day Z. There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans to take part in sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. If you're interested check out or website @ www.bsbnetwork.com and try to hop on our Teamspeak 3 server and say "hi!" 212.187.246.58:9140

    anti-wiki tactics

I think you are tight about it being an industry changer for sure.

    anti-wiki tactics

I wouldn't be surprised if this sort of thing is at the forefront of Rockets thinking with stand alone release, or at least I hope it is. I remember reading one of his interviews where he specifically stated he didnt want to have any official explanations, manuals, guides or details simply because it spoils the immersion and the idea of players interaction, sharing info along the way and the mystery/potential/excitement surrounding that - and to be honest I completely agree. I feel players are cheated out of much of the "magic" of a game when they can simply Google up any aspect of the game and know outright the facts. Many game, particularly in the case of Day Z, deserve to have that mystery around them. I was fortunate enough to be registered on the forum among the first 5 or so thousand and I remember all the mystery and hype around the rumour that Night Vision goggles were in the game somewhere and that there were guns with tactical lights too! That sort of gossip and community "legend" aspect is at the heart of Day Z and it needs remain there! Good post mate, i hope it's not wasted here among the "this game is dead" and "is the G36 a hacked weapon" posts!
  8. There's still a few "This game is dead" threads kicking about so I'd say no, not just yet. Besides, we will only have to go through it again once stand-alone release comes out anyway. I dare say it will be well after Christmas before we the foundations of a stable community established!

    Tin cans

Ive actually seen this happen on two separate occasions already. I ate beans and found an empty tin in my inventory. It was shortly after a recent update and I thought it was a new feature, Ive never seen it since.

    Lets talk about opened ammo

I think this is a good idea, but ideally i'd say magazine and ammo should be completely separate entities anyway. You should need to find magazines and ammo separately to make firearms a bit more balanced in relation to melee and home made weapons (hammers, cross bows, hatchets, machete, swords etc. That way it would mean there would be fewer people runnign about with high end military grade weapons, such as the AS50 or the M4 as it would mean a lot more time and effort would have to go into finding three separate entities (gun, .ammo and magazines) for that weapon. Yes if you WANT to do that then they are there but there should be a trade off and there should be more reason for NOT wanting to do that, i.e. it's just easier and quieter to find and use household weapons such as a hammer, crowbar or wrench.

    Pleasant experiences in DayZ

This is what Day Z is all about on a good day!
  17. Thats exactly why the humanity is persistent through your lives - its how you generally play, so if you are "generally a nice guy" your humanity will reflect this. How else would others get a rough idea if what "character" you are laying each life? How would they know if it's your turn to play as a camping sniper nub? There needs to be an unbalanced and persistent way to fairly give am approximate grading to a players' morale/humanity in my opinion and although the present system isnt brilliant it's a step in the right direction.

    Still haven't found...

As it should be. It just sounds like youa're playing as the game was intended to me, so well done. Although it's much easier getting these items when you're part of an organised team.

    [BSB] Network Recruiting

Plenty of room for more in our fire teams, Over 1300 members, 200+ of which supporting Day Z.
  23. Hi there we're the BSB Network, a social gaming community that has a good number of players supporting Day Z. We're hosting many smaller groups within the game and presently undergoing the process of organising a larger scale community group within the game operating fire teams, safe zones etc. We're a stable and established community that was setup in 2002 (so we're not a fly by night ad-hoc clan or anything!) and we're just a good community of gamers looking for fun games. We have no age, skill or time requirements, all we ask is for players to be fair and have a bit of common sense. We use TS3 and have our own community website with members from all over the world. Most of our members are over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but we do have some mature younger players too! If you're interested in joining in our groups in Day Z go to our website or hop on our Public TS3 server any time; www.bsbnetwork.com Our recruitment/advertisement topic on this forum can be found here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48408-bsb-network-recruiting/#entry462503
  24. You could try playing with a few groups.
