    Back in the DayZ

I used to have to play on saturdays or sundays and looking intentionally for Chemlights as I would only be able to play through the week on an evening after work when it was dark in-game. Chemlights were decent finds back then, especially blue ones, and invaluable compared to flares! I remember one time when i seen a flare in the distance just north of Cherno, I approached it slowly and noted it was a guy with a rifle hunting around. I didnt want to revel my location so i sat and watched a while, then I seen another guy behind him. I presumed it was the first guys mate but then as they both disappeared through a fence I heard shots fired. I sneaked round to see what happened and seen the first guy dead withthe second guy looting him - it turned out he was also stalking this guy withthe flare and decided to take him out! I then shot the second guy as ruthlessly as he had killed the first guy. Seemed a reasonable thing to do, and I got the spoils from both of them. This is why I miss night servers - everyone had to play on them and NVGs were rare so flares and chemlights were a must!

On the whole I htink the game has developed quite well. However I used to like it when you had to play on a night because there were so few servers you had no choice!

    A few random thoughts

I seena few good suggestions a few weeks back regarding weather and shelter, connected to your "offline" state. Basically, the gear you have on you, such as sleeping bags, extra clothes, sleeping mats etc. and your last location before you disconnect, such as a barn or a house, could or should have an affect on your characters performance when you next log in. I.E havign all teh stuff such as a sleeping bag, mattress and warm clothes indoors should count as "good" rest conditions and therfore improve your performance such as aiming, running, blood regeneration, health and thirst and hunger levels. Going offline when outside in the middle of nowhere, with no extra warm clothees or sleeping bag would count for a "bad" nights rest which again would rreduce the afore mentioned attributes and make survivng a little more difficult for a period of time. It's nto my idea just a culmination of other peoples good ideas already posted, but I think this is along the right lines as it puts more emnphasis on survival scavenging for things other than guns and ammo and means survival takea bit of thought and planning. Plus it also means you ahve to take into account the weather and conditions.
  6. lol that directed at me? You seem sure of yourself considering I've been alive longer than you have even been registered here .... Good luck with your next sniper fest.
  7. Good job but I suspect the jig is up now you made this post - you will get bandits coming for you now...

Fair enough but we have a serious number of good groups available on at all times of the day and night - check our TS3 server link in my signa right now to see! http://www.bsbnetwork.com/servers
  9. Until better fortification, barricading and general base/settlement mechanisms are built into the game it's mostly useless and only serves to annoy. No one carries it or goes out to scavenge for it, they just find it in warehouses and use it 'cos it's there.

    A few random thoughts

The weather elements should play a more important part in the game for sure and shelter should be an objective for those who wish to play longer term/end game maybe. Also on topic, there's an awful lot of top grade US military grade weapons and equipment around for a post soviet mini-state! The game needs to put more of an emphasis on melee and civilian weapons in my opinion.

You are arguing that it's PvP, he is arguing it's unethical.

Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community (not a clan) that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have many members and clans within our community supporting Day Z that team up in groups using our TS3 Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We have over 200 registered Day Z players and most of them team up in small groups, or "fire teams of of 4-8 players. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! I must stress we aren not a clan at all, we're just a community for casual to serious players (it's upto you how you use our community) but we do have our own in-house "home" multi-game clan within the community. There are also other affilaited/friendly clans and groups within our community playing Day Z. There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans to take part in sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. If you're interested check out or website @ www.bsbnetwork.com and try to hop on our Teamspeak 3 server and say "hi!" 212.187.246.58:9140

coming back to day z ?

If you feel this bug is a show stopper maybe you're better waiting till standalone release if you aren't prepared to put up the testing and development phase bugs mate as there's only likely to be other bugs that crop up until then.

    Batteries for electronic devices

It has been suggested a umber of times, but that just goes to confirm it's a good idea. I totally agree that batteries should be included in the game for things such as radios, torches, night vision goggles and even weapon attachments. I dont think recharging should be an option though as the power grid is down. On second thoughts though, if you could get a generator working at a "safe house" that you and your group had managed to secure and barricade/defend, recharging could be an option and it would cerainly add a nice objective to the game.
