Welcome to teh game mate, love seeing posts like this as it puts faith back into the game that it's still the awesome and unique , brutal zom-survival title it set out to be! Stick withthe game and you will soon develop your own techniques and stratergies to surviving longer but you will still die in horrible, brutal and silly ways! Ive been playing well over a year and I still die in shitty ways (i literally ran off a roof the other day! lol). Keep on enjoing this mod, even after ful release!

I agree it should be very hard to crack and maybe even slowly released into the game in stages so its impossible to crack because all that will happen is the backstroy to teh infection will be cracked and then posted on every Day Z youtube channel or forum onthe net and spoil it for those of us who are slower paced or newbies to the game. Lets keep as much mystery in the game as possible. WHile we're ont he subject they should ban all wikis and reference guides on the game too - let survivors spread information between each other rather than having it stated in black and white!!!! :D

We've been around since 2002, have supported Day Z since launch and will be supporting it well into stand alone as wella scontinueing to support Day Z Mod (Epoch). We're an adult clan thats very stable and reliable (so we wont just disappear in a montsh time like some!) and take pride in our clean reputation and integrity. We're priamrily an open community for gamers to come and go, taking part in any gaming campaigns we support as and when they wish, getting as invovled as they wish and we have varying grades to reflect each community members level of inergration and activity within the community (as well as an awards system!). We do offer an inernal clan thats invitation only for some of the community memerbs who are a bit more dedicated and looking for a more tight-nit, long term clan solouton too. We have no silly rules or requirements, all we ask is for common sense and fair play from our members. We run dayz events and activities, host our own Day Z EPOCH server, which is mostly cooperative play and base building with elements of PVP and also frequent the MUSTY GAMING public servers for some PvP action, where our members team up against other clans and groups! Now, the bad thing is we're primarily EU/UK based, however we do have a very good number of STATESIDE players and as we already said, some of these play on the MUSTY GAMING EPOCH servers in small BSB groups as well as our own server, so theres players active at all times of the day and night. I wonder when you started playing Day Z. A couple of things in your post just dont add up to me... When day z first come out you spawned with a Revolver. After that it was changed to a Makarov. That was universal as all servers had the same load out gear on the main hive. I wonder why you got so hyped finding a gun which your own superseded or you already spawned with???? Also when I first started playing (pretty much at launch) you were constantly tripping over players as there were only a handful of servers and you had to wait to get on them. Once you did you had to fight your way off the coast as people would kill new spawns for their beanz! Things "went down hill" when a wave of hipsters got wind of this awesome mod and the steam summer sale brought ARMA 2 CO down to a very cheap price and with popularity came the inevitable hackers. From there and borne out of frustration private hives were introduced, which of course led to some servers going over kill on stuff that were previously locked down, such as having too many vehicles or high value spawn locations. Also this naturally led to otehr versions of dayz which diluted the community and fragmented it to various While these were necessary to save the mod and fight back, they introduced more problems than they resolved. Naturally the hipster crowds moved on to the latest new 5 minute wonder on Reddit and private hives because a lot more bearable but by which time Pandoras box has been opened now and Day Z mod (dont forget this is just the mod and not the full game) has naturally developed into some awesome "flavours". Again some of the issues you have a problem with are server specific and not necessarily a problem with the mod as a whole. I think I would be more worried and Day Z would be in far more trouble if it didnt develop at all, the stand alone game wasnt in production and we were alls till playing on 5 or 6 servers personally.

Stand alone will have a story to piece together about the infection it's self wont it? WIll that do? I must say though I agree with Narkoman, day z is our story to make. Lets keep it simple and open.

Hi, Ill try and answer your questions for you pal; 1) Yes, you need to know a little scripting, or at least be familiar with the files within arma server and mission files. You should be aware of the various modes, maps and "flavours of Day z before hand and have an idea of which you are aiming to provide before hand. You should have good reference material to that particular mod/map too, Ideally you should be active on the mod/map community and within the relevant scripting communities within day z. You should also research the various hosting companies - some are better than others, some specialise in certain maps/mods and all have their advantages and disadvantages! I recommend dayz.st for new server admins as they do a lot the work for you early days and practically spoon feed you everything you need. 2) yes and no. Anyone can host a server, do some basic changes and have it running. Even editing the map and adding all the various community based scripts such as AI is fairly easy after a little research and with a bit of common sense.However dont presume people will instantly flock to your server and populate it. Dayz is a victim of it's own success and the private hives have introduced as many problems as they have resolved - price drops, host expansions, additional mods have all diluted the day z community and many servers struggle to populate them. So you and your mate need to put in some hard work in trying to poulate the server yourself. This is the hardest part as many people give empty servers a wide birth and wont even join a server if theres less tahn 10-20 people on at any given time, some will but, not as many as those who want to join a populated server. Consistency is also important. Your server needs to stick with its map/mode for a good period of time and have clear and well thought out rules from the start. No one wants all their hard work and hours of play undone when you suddenly get bored of cherno and want to wipe your database to play Taviana! Rules wise, people get pissed off easily in day z. I know its silly and stuff but its a fact. Things like being killed or their bases are destroyed tend to get people emotional so they need to be clear from these start if this is a risk or not. Its also important to try and be unique with your server. Dont just rip other peoples ideas off or use pre-set modes/configs. Try and aim to provide something different, there are already thousands of similar servers out there, try and find a niche. 3) This depends on your host. dayz.st is a very good host for epoch these days and very easy for new administrators. Its a case of jsut selecting it forma drop down box. 4) Costs vary but value wise again .st are reasonable but not the cheapest. There again I find you get what you pay for and I have been satisfied with them. Yes you can set customs with them and they have a nice guide on how to do some basic customs too to get you started. Dont over do the customs though! Try and keep it simply and TEST every single custom! Feel free to check out our server (link in my signature - its a Day Z.st server with epoch and many customs . Good server for building a base on, lots of little groups, building supplies in traders and some bare bone prefabricated structures added to build a good and secure base around!

Friendly people , active and we play other games too (BF4, War Thunder, Arma 3, Company of Heroes 2, Minecraft, Dota etc)
