How do I know if a weapon is scripted in?
boxman80 replied to NicholaiGinovaef's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Theres a list of official Day Z weapons on the drop list at teh Day Z Wiki http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page To be honest though mate, you cant get banned for playing with a weapon that has been hacked in so it's not too much of a worry. Personally I'd destroy hacked in weapons upon coming accross them but its personal choice. To be fair the stand alone release shouldnt be too far around the corner now and it may be a case of "enjoy them while you can" as tehres likely to bemore civillian weapons stand alone and less of teh high end military grade weapons. -
Good effort, might be someone thinks its worth developing for full release when community based development is available. IT would work really well as a mini-expansion with a kind of "escape" mode, whereby you basically have to get from point A to Point B with environment and bandit players to contend with. I personally prefer larger scale post apocalypse scenarios myself, with little background story/knowledge, as Day Z is now. More mystery and intrigue that way.

Looking for a certain server
boxman80 replied to Silent_Jamie (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There's plenty available, I couldnt find many servers with more than 10 people on last night! I know our servers tend to only be populated in small numbers with randoms because they tend to be affraid of big clans and communities (and rightly so in most cases!). I'd recommend getting pally with a decent clan and getting their permission to play on their home server, that way you get their protection and you get no trouble from them, providing you respect their rules. Thats the way we do it with friendlies. Eitehr that or rent your own server. -
Hi, good luck with your group but there's a clan recruitment board to use for this sort of thing matey. Wouldnt want you getting a slapped arse for nothing ;) http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/69-clan-group-recruitment/

The loot system has apparantly been reworked for full release. Loot needs to be more random for certain items and much rare fro military grade equipment. Loot spots need to be more scattered but with less chance of spawning symoltenously; for instance a town could ahve literally hundreds of spawn positions, with just actually a small percentage of those spawns being randomly selected for loot, maybe even spread oot out a little instead of having little piles of it. Military grade weapons, equipment and ammo should alswaysspawn in limited numbers at any given point of time and stay at that fixed minimal number until that particular item/weapon/ammo is collected or detroyed. For isntance, NVGs, maybe spawn just once in every 24 hours, they spawn once at an airfield and remaint there till found or detroyed upon which they then don't respawn on that server for 24 hours and when they do it's at adiffrent random location. Just commons ense really. I know this has been discussed to death before but its always worth mentioning, as is my opinions on military grade weapons; guns, magazines and bullets should all be seperate entities that need to be collected as individual items. In additon their maitnence should be higher than civilan weaponary and extras such as sights, lasers, etc should require batteries. This would give better balance to the use of these weapons and make them suitable for players who have that particular play style and choose it, rather than oppertunists who stumble accross the best guns and can pick em up and use 'em willy nilly.

I love the lonliness of the environment when you lone wolf! I find it really atmospheric and creepy, especially at night!I love the feeling of being out there on my own with the chance of being over run by a horde or walking into a quite zombie round a corner. I dolove creeping up or around a town still. I especialyl like observgint them froma distance as I plan my route! I love the occasional groan or grunt when Im raiding a barn, all fo that helps emerse me in this mod! i do love the PvP element to it too! I love spotting the unmistakable movements of other survivors running through the woods as I lay quietly and relativly safe keeping out of site! I also love seeing vehicles off in the distance and knowing that they haven't seen me! I do like how the .50 cal rounds attract zombies to you from a massive distance away, it certainly makes me think twice before cracking off warning (or lethal!) shots off at potential hostiles! Quality mod!

Good luck to your survival ! You sound like me a while back, I'm on Day 56 now with all that kit and more (Map, AS50, Glock17, NVG GPS, SA80, bloodetc). Mind you I've been rolling with a few of our communities groups inbetween surviving though. I usually only hit towns/airstrips when i'm with one of our fire teams, when I'm going lone wolf I stay in the wilderness! Good luck to you though pal. I trhough a second map away yesterday too! They quite common in the inn buildings and in shops.

Bit of an over-reaction Bish for a simple mistaken identity... As I've explained in the message I've sent you via the website, our guys havent staged any evidence, they have simply killed someone called "Bish", they even said in their report it was jsut a guy called bish and they didnt know if it was you or not. If it wasn't you then thats fair enough we'll take your word for it, all you needed to do was confirm with me (the tournament admin). Ther's no need to go off on a one throwing toys out of the pram! We've been around for a long time and seen all the macho clan v clan bullshit and we aren't looking for that with this tournament, this tourmnaemnt was started with the best possible intentions in an effort to get serious players looking for long term objective playing together. It's very early days (week 2 now) and there's always going to be teething issues and things that need further development with events such as this that operate outside the game enforcement parameters. We have nothing to gain by "faking" our own tournament, not to mention that our guys are all adults in this for the fun! I see no need to question our integrity over such a trivial issue! I'm very disapointed that you have reacted in such a negative way, not only making ridiculous accusations but publically undermining us like this. I had hoped we were dealing with a mature group with you guys, hence us invovling you from the start. ANYWAYS----- Week 2 is now underway, congratulations on those who participated in week 1. Unfortunately we had only one target confirmed as eliminated, but this was enough to give our own Delta fire team their first $1000 bounty and a further $500 bonus for activity and associated kills. Week two's new targets have been published on our website now, all bar 1 player is a volunteer and therefore more likely to be obtainable. Any "leaks", intel on a player or feedback will appear on our Bounty HunterZ forum board throuout the week. Good luck! As ever we are taking volunteers for the hit list and all clans are welcome to submit a team if they wish (Please read rules first!!!!!)

Looking for a mostly bandit group/ another lone wolf to run with.
boxman80 replied to Ulysses404's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You can check us out at The BSB Network (www.bsbnetwork.com) We're an organised commuinty with several fire teams set up that compete against each other for our weekly event Bandit event (Bounty HunterZ) but also work together on diffrent external/community projects. Our teams are all well equiped and are mostly kill on sight on our home servers. We have over 200 registered Day Z players in our community and over 1300 players registered. We have no commitment or requirments other than fair play and common sense - you can be as casual or hardcore as suits you as we cate for both types of play. We use Teamspeak and have our own server for comms that is always active day or night. Most of our playars are UK/Euro based but we do have a dedicated US based Fire team for stateside members. Check out the website for more info. -
Always open to mature gamers. Visit the website to get involved! www.bsbnetwork.com

I'd prefer more civilian/melee type weapons than military grade weapons that swamp the game now! It's more realistic and gives a more personal touch to the game, with weapons of choice being just that, rather than everyon having teh heavy calibre sniper rifles or assault rifles out of necessity. I personally like the idea of having machettes, hammers, swords or wrenches as weapons to fend off small numbers of "biters"

When you make console versions, will that include WiiU
boxman80 replied to NeoTechni's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Console play for Day Z? lol Yeahh ok sit tight there mate, i'm sure it will come  -
Bounties claimed on Sizqo and [ODZ] Bish, both claimed by our Delta Fire Team. Well done lads! 2 down, 5 more to go! Deadline is Sunday with a new hit list being posted Monday!

Why look for another group/clan? The BSB Network has been supporting Day Z since launch and has been going strong since 2002! Why bother with a fly-by-night organised clan when you can be a part of an experienced and established stable group! We suit all levels of game play from casual to hard-core serious (with our Fire Teams and weekly team v team event's) and we have no requirements other than fair play and a bit of common sense. We have gamers from all over the globe playing DayZ sectioned into sensible fire teams for time differences. We have several home servers as well as our own Teamspeak server that is always busy with Day Z gamers! No need to settle for second best - we are the real deal! Check us out today! www.bsbnetwork.com

EFS clan recruiting new infanteers, medics and snipers
boxman80 replied to Derpy_Hooves (DayZ)'s topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Hi guys, sorry im not looking to be recruited but wondered if you guys would be interested in our event, BSB Bounty HunterZ; basically a team vs team vs target weekly event whereby teams are in direct competition with each other to get the bounty points on designated targets and by eliminating each other in the process. Targets are selected fresh each week with a time limit of 7 days to get the designated targets. We have 5-6 of our own teams already playing this week with another couple of clans interested in getting their own teams registered for the event. Team sizes are maximum of 10 players though. Details here;- http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/89741-event-bsb-bounty-hunterz/ AND http://www.bsbnetwork.com/bountyhunterz good luck with recruitment though! -
Hi, not sure if we'd be interested in that exactly, but you are quite welcome to submit a team to compete in our event BSB Bounty HunterZ. Its effectively all out war with other registered teams in the persuit of designated targets. The team withthe most bounty points (from killing targets and otehr teams) get the glory! Details found here; http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/89741-event-bsb-bounty-hunterz/ and on our website here;- http://www.bsbnetwork.com/bountyhunterz So far we have 5 - 6 of our own teams (10 man max) and at least 1 other clan currently in the process of registering.
-
No problems, it's a weekly event and it's open to non-members (as targets) and stable clans that can register a team. It will hopefully going for a while yet as we already have quite a good number of "targets" volunteering and at least 5 teams competing! Copy of this week's hit list; Hit list targets to be eliminated by Monday 24th September. This list details the targets, any bonus objectives and any intel we have on their likely location, server or associated info (such as clan website, teamspeak server). Eliminate with extreme prejudice to receive the associated Bounty Points on each target! Targets: 1. Outlaw Bish (AKA Bish). An active member on the "Outlawz" bandit clan active within Day Z. He's likely to be with other members of their clan and they are very heavily armed and aggressive. This guy won't come easy! These guys have their own secret server and secure base. They roam various servers causing mayhem and look to be UK based. Their clan website is here; http://www.dayzoutlaws.enjin.com/home Bounty $1000 - CLAIMED BY DELTA Bonus $500 per team mate killed - CLAIMED (1 Accomplice Killed) Bonus $1000 if he's killed with a hatchet! 2. Sizqo This guy is one of our own! He's brave and volunteered to take on our own hounds of hell! He's a lone wolf and a bit of a wild card! He's prepared and ready to take on our best - so he's either bat-shit crazy or really well prepared with guts of steel! He's likely to be frequenting any of our own members servers and on our TS3 server! He should be working alone! Bounty $1000 - CLAIMED BY DELTA! Bonus $1000 if he's killed with a hatchet 3. Outlaw Vinyard Another memebr of the Outlawz clan. He looks to be active and some kind of ring leader of a small group last seen around Balota! He's on a mission to secure vehicles. He is also likely to be well armed and accmanid by ruthless team mates! Bounty $1000 Bonus $500 per team mate killed Bonus $1000 if he's killed with a hatchet! 4 Short Bus Hero Bit of a wild card here, this guy was last seen advertsiing for other bandits here; http://dayzmod.com/f...for-clansquad/ We're not even 100% sure of his In-game name or his location but he is reasonably well armed and may have an accomplice! Bounty $1000 Bonus $500 per accomplice killed Bonus $1000 if he's killed with a hatchet! 5. Goldie AK JPLowkey This guy is another wild card, he's a bit of an unknown. He claims to be well armed but this is probably no more than an M4 or low level Sniper rifle. He's probably alone and unlikely to give our teams too much guff! That said he is an unknown and may use this to his advantage. We do have the info that his skype name is JPLowkey. Last seen here; http://dayzmod.com/f...-friendssquads/ Bounty $1000 Bonus $1000 if he's killed with a hatchet! 6. P5ykoO An old friend of BSB network, this guy was last seen playing Day Z a couple of weeks back and is rumoured to have his own server and group. This is unconfirmed and the information we have on him and the group he maybe with is limited to none-existant! Advise caution in persuing this guy. His in-game name islikely to be P5ykoO but he may be going by an alias! Bounty $1000 Bonus $500 per accomplice killed Bonus $1000 if he's killed with a hatchet! 7. Sgt.AssHat This guy is a seasoned veteran. Make no mistakes, this guy is the real deal and quite active. He is UK based so is likely to be playing on GMT time and on UK/Euro servers. More details can be found at his profile here; http://dayzmod.com/f...2044-sgtasshat/ Bounty $1000 Bonus $500 per accomplice killed Bonus $1000 if he's killed with a crowbar!
