I wouldn't even expect 1.7.3 any time soon as Rocket has already said he;s focusing more on stand alone release than anything else, and rightly so. -

UK player looking for other serious players to explore with
boxman80 replied to BryanDB91's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. If you're interested check out or website @ www.bsbnetwork.com and try to hop on our Teamspeak 3 server and say "hi!" 212.187.246.58:9140 -

We've supported games for 10 years across multiple game titles including loads on Punkbuster and to be honest there's just as many hackers playing those as any other. What's more there will always be people willing to cheat or use 3rd party software on any game, regardless. It's a problem that cant be eradicated in the foreseeable future on the PC, not without us pc gamers sacrificing some of the elements that make PC gaming the best format of gaming! Besides, Battle Eye clearly does work, you only have to look at the "WTF I'm Banned" threads that 1 post wonders make here on a daily basis! And that's just a small proportion of them and the ones who are too thick to go straight to Battle Eye to spew their excuses. Just because it doesnt ban instantaneously, it doesnt mean it's not working.

Hi there we're the BSB Network, a social gaming community that has a good number of players supporting Day Z. We're hosting many smaller groups within the game and presently undergoing the process of organising a larger scale community group within the game operating fire teams, safe zones etc. We're a stable and established community that was setup in 2002 (so we're not a fly by night ad-hoc clan or anything!) and we're just a good community of gamers looking for fun games. We have no age, skill or time requirements, all we ask is for players to be fair and have a bit of common sense. We use TS3 and have our own community website with members from all over the world. Most of our members are over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but we do have some mature younger players too! If you're interested in joining in our groups in Day Z go to our website or hop on our Public TS3 server any time; www.bsbnetwork.com Our recruitment/advertisement topic on this forum can be found here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48408-bsb-network-recruiting/#entry462503

okay so basically rocket wants the modders to make the game ...
boxman80 replied to dgeesio's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My worry is that with the community developing the mod the community playing the mod will become fragmented and diluted as the mod takes various different versions and tangents as more and more private hives take off running different variations of it. Some of the ARMA 2 mods are fantastic but the community are quite small, difficult to get into and in some cases the mods are excessive. I said on another post earlier that there's various mods available for ARMA 2 that are upwards of 8gb in size! On the other hand it could provide an excellent testing ground for new features and game content for the stand alone version. I'm still undecided if it's a good thing but resigned to the fact it's going to happen whether I like it or not! -

DayZ is a joke in its current form
boxman80 replied to seanmcloughlin7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Thats just it though I don't think it has changed. I played where there were only a couple of servers and you needed to wait to get into one that was loaded with 50 players.... then you got in (usually night servers as I was UK playing evening) and died about 5 or 6 times there on the coast before I even got a few feet in land because of the bean warz going on there - raping new spawns for their 2 cans of bans and basics. If anything it's easier now as servers are less populated because theres more of them and more private hives, you just got rusty. Nostalgia is clouding your judgement. -
Tired of playing alone, need a buddy to help out :)

DayZ is a joke in its current form
boxman80 replied to seanmcloughlin7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You have to resign yourself to changes within the game at this stage of development. Besides that you're actually arguing for and against this by saying people need to be kept entertained to stop them killing needlessly but you cant update or change the game,.... doesn't make sense to me. Not that it matters because no matter what there is to do in the game people will still kill on sight. Whether this is because they see you as a potential threat, they want your stuff or purely because they want to see how you fall, you will still get this and it's probably right as it is a survival sandbox game. Personally I know I'll always kill stranger on sight if I feel they will be a threat to my objectives and I know the guys I play with would do the same no matter what in game objectives or content there was - it's prison rules, survival of the fittest, and sometimes you have to accept you are the bummee and not the bummer. -

DayZ is a joke in its current form
boxman80 replied to seanmcloughlin7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Not at all, it's the truth of the matter. THis game has a very specific target audience and sadly not everyone realises this. I was making a response in context to the guy who basically but factiously was saying you have to avoid people in the forests and stay out of the way and not bother making contact with other payers at all. It's certainly one "safer" approach but you have to accept there is a significant element to the game that is PvP and you are going to come across more aggressive players than passives. The ratio hasnt really changed much in my opinion since release and if you dont like being killed pointlessly then why play at all? -

boxman80 replied to seanmcloughlin7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
People do still help each other, it's just the luck of the draw and you have got to be realistic that there's going to be more people who are either going to kill. There's more reason to kill you than there is to help you and for me that's about right and adds to the tension of the game. I've been playing myself since shortly after the game went live and I think the game is no worse relatively than it ever was. In fact I'd say it was in a much dire state this time back in July. I'm confident there will be more content within the game to keep people more occupied in stand alone. Until then as I said you just need to be careful who you team up with and try to make contacts outside of the game to get involved with in-game. That doesn't necessarily mean coercing your best buddy into buying the game to get a game in. Our community for example is a good place to find other casual players that are pretty much "safe" and ok with teaming up for scavenges and survival play. -

Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Can't stand getting killed for no reason don't play Day Z. -
No i'm not so you are fresh out of luck. It was a reference to Pinocchio, the little wooden boy who tells lies, but it was obviously wasted on you. I also gave you the information and help you require... Here it is again since you didn't seem to grasp it the first time..... You were banned by Battle Eye, this isnt Battle Eye, no one here can help you....

boxman80 replied to seanmcloughlin7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
A couple of options; - get involved with a community/clan/regular group as there's strength in numbers - Trust no one - avoid PvP hot spots such as Cherno, Elektra, NW Airfield etc. I actually think it's calmed down a little on the PvP scene. Yes it still happens but it's not as much of an issue now as there's loads more servers dispersing players more sparsely. I tend to stick to servers with around 10 players on (there's not many these days with more, at least the times I play) and rarely encounter other players and even less that see me before I see them. When I play with my community mates I get even fewer problems. -
Are you sure that's the whole story, little wooden boy? Regardless of this you are in the wrong place mate, you were banned by Battle eye not Day Z or ARMA2. Go tell them all about it.... http://www.battleye.com/
