  1. Agreed, not a good idea. I don't want NPC's all over the game, certainly not as intrusive as this suggestion.

Looking for people to Team Up with

Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. If you're interested check out or website @ www.bsbnetwork.com and try to hop on our Teamspeak 3 server and say "hi!" 212.187.246.58:9140

    Looking for group

Hi there we're the BSB Network, a social gaming community that has a good number of players supporting Day Z. We're hosting many smaller groups within the game and presently undergoing the process of organising a larger scale community group within the game operating fire teams, safe zones etc. We're a stable and established community that was setup in 2002 (so we're not a fly by night ad-hoc clan or anything!) and we're just a good community of gamers looking for fun games. We have no age, skill or time requirements, all we ask is for players to be fair and have a bit of common sense. We use TS3 and have our own community website with members from all over the world. Most of our members are over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but we do have some mature younger players too! If you're interested in joining in our groups in Day Z go to our website or hop on our Public TS3 server any time; www.bsbnetwork.com Our recruitment/advertisement topic on this forum can be found here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48408-bsb-network-recruiting/#entry462503

    Too Many Loots?

I think that's pretty much the tone of the game now, there are too many servers and not enough people to play on them. This game was intended to be played on high pop servers, or it was certainly a lot harder and more exciting when there were only 8 servers and you basically had to just play on which ever one had a slot free, day or night! If you want it a bit more challenging try a more heavily populated server, however you might want to go private hive for the moment as high pops tend to attract script kiddies too!

Get drunk and poison your mates.

Abuse and trolling is easy to reduce by simply having a time limit on how long goods stay poisoned/alcohol soaked. THis would mean it would only be feasible for those who plan to get close and use such a feature correctly. You could also use alcohol socially within the game as a means of increasing humanity or to show that you are "friendly". Naturally it would have to have an affect on players using it frequently such as slowing htem down or affecting aim/balance etc. to prevent abuse and as a decent counter balance. I think it's a good idea.

    Green Mountain radio transmissions

Im personally looking forward to having a bit of a story in there for us to stumble across and to help set the scene and improve the immersion.

    Playing in a clan SUCKS!

You are just playing in the wrong clan mate.

Why no IP bans for hacking?

It's been proven far more effective to ban on game licences and hit these hackers where it hurts - their pocket (or their parents pocket!). In this day and age though it's not unreasonable to expect a full hardware bans, using a combination of mac addresses, motherboard hard disk and processor numbers.

Giving away my 62days old characters equipment

lol sure... Well done to the OP if he;s genuine. You're on a similar life cycle to me. I'm on day 68 I think? I too have everything in-game you need and agree it gets quite easy to survive. I can also tell you It took me longer than 5 minutes to get it all too! I killed at least 3 people (in defence) and scavenged countless bodies, loot spawns, camps and crashed chopper sites! I also took 2 near fatal shots, got ran over, fell down ladders twice and been knocked out by uber strong zombies in that time. Ha d a fiar bit of help from my community mates too, which always helps!

    Milk a cow!

on a hot summers day in Chernarus it's not gonna be pleasant drinking warm unsterilised milk.... I'd rather prioritise eating some of those juicy pumpkins growing in the town gardens or the fruits growing in the orchids on the map!
  19. It's already a game you can play - http://slendergame.com/. I personally dont think it fits in with Day Z well presently but I get where you a re coming from and as it's own mod it could work I guess.

    Radio + laserfinder?

Upto you what you want to do with them. The radio may be worth hanging onto,it used to be a legitimate drop.

    DayZ Truths

Carl "it's all in the hips" Weathers plays Day Z? On a serious note, well done on a long and obviously thought about topic however I do think that some of the suggestions you make would detract from fundimental elements of the game. For me, the game is purely and simply the environment (or the scene!) and it's the human players and interaction that makes for the enetertainment. I've been laying for a fair bit of time now and I am still constantly seeing new stories, videos and events that make me laugh, make me mad, or simply amaze me. all of them based on human interaction within the game. Having NPC's running about and game key game play developed stories is something that has been avoided intentionally from the start to enable us, the gamers, to do that and fill in all the blanks. You have given several "imagine" scenarios invovling NPC's, well I say to you - imagine those scenarios only with humans that are unpredictiable and not scripted instead! I have seen scenarios similar to your descriptions quite a lot and any more on top of that too and I loved eacha nd every encounter because it was real and genuiine, not just some robotic scene. I like that every time I do encounter someone it could go any one of a million ways! I also often read about end game and story related missions or tasks, military groups wandering around or checkpoints or what ever and to be honest I really hope that these things dont get introduced certainly not in any kind of big way that affects all gamers. This mod is very specific in it's goals and objectives and I believe it is aimed at a very small and discerning group of gamers that haven't been addressed in quite the same way before. Having lots of people who get board simply surviving or who may not have the imagination, patience or even simply not in the game's original target audience shouldnt mean that this content should be added. I dont want that to sound like I'm saying "go play COD/ Left 4 Dead" 'cos I'm not saying that, I'm saying love this game for what it is, don't try and turn it into something it's not! On the topic of more cars, yea sure I don't see why not however the balance should be that fuel is harder to come by in game.
