Good luck with your group, but as an alternative, rather than starting your own bandit group you would be welome to get involved with our established community @ The BSB Network. We already have a sizeable community of Day Z players and our own Day Z server and TS3 server that we have organised into two factions Ravens (Friendlies/evasive style players) and Scorpions (Hostile/Confrontational style of play). We have played Day Z since launch and have a well established multi-game community supporting 1600+ registered users. Our community is primarily an open community for fair and mature gamers who are welcome to get involved as much (or as little) as they wish and we aim to accommodate all kinds of players, from those who just want to occasionally hook up, to the more hardcore serious players who are extremely active. We don't have any stupid rules or restrictions other than play fair and have some common sense. We're looking out for more Bandit style players to help populate our BSB Scorpions faction, making our server a battle ground between the two factions. Yea I'd agree, I've only ever found about 5 mountain Dews and I've been playing literally since launch and yet I've found NVGs ona weekly basis almost. They are nice to have but they tend to get stolen, destroyed as they are useless.

We run a Taviana map, it's bigger than Cherno and each city has more things to loot in them and more custom and enterable buildings that aren't in Cherno. There's more hospitals, pubs, apartment blocks, loads of barracks around (including new enterable ones), we have a max vehicles limit of 500 enabled including hummers, land rovers (pinkies), different choppers, cargo planes, VW Golfs, SUVs etc. We also have custom weapons available (Makarov SD, G36). There is no "guaranteed" safe base. Best bet is picking a low occupied server (for main Hive) in an obscure location for gear. I rarely, if ever, leave my vehicles close to my tents either, its too tempting for a player to find your vehicle, take all your good stuff and drive over your tent(s) then you lose everything. I tend to dot cams and vehicles around the map in random places that arent likely to see people on foot pass through, then you only ever lose small quantities of items at a time. Mind you I tend to play more on our Taviana server and it's a bit better (as it's bigger and has better terrain) for having camps.

But its not as useful as NVGs either mate!

You might get a Ghilli suit for it mate but I dont think its worth NVGs.

Problem with annual awards, official or unofficial is that there's too many "flavour of the months" here. I've seen a lot of people, servers etc come and go over the last 8-9 months here and yet only the guys who have been here recently and presently will be voted for in any kind of serious number...
