Bang on. I've said this from the start - Private hives are a double edged sword and have done more damage to the community by fragmenting. I appreciate the need for them but one thing I'm looking forward to with SA is back to a universal set of servers.

Just purely in the interest of a good gamingin experience they should be removed. Playing on a dark server with only a torch, chemlight or flare for illumination is a great experience.

No I don't agree, it's not the same as asking to remove guns at all, for most players NVGs go way beyond simply finding a decent bit of kit, they are essential. The problem with the advantage NVGs give though is they have a massive affect on the game, i.e. no one plays on night time servers anymore unless they have this advantage. For me this is a shame as Day Z night time is where a lot of the games key elements are enhanced. Removing NVGs would mean people are at least more likely to play at a night time. I'd leave Night vision scopes in still.

I'd have said us at The BSB Network as we're adult social gamers with no daft rules otehr than fair play and common sense, but your previous experiences with larger/multi-gaming communities seems to have sullied your view of them (which is a shame as I do think you would fit in well with our lads), so the only other decent folk who might suit you would be Balota Buddies.

Hi yea i've been doing it since launch mate. It's the safest way. Its quite common on our server. Its fun too! Only the other day a few of us took a guy prisoner, disarmed him, gave him a last meal and prepared to throw him in a volcano (Taviana), before we changed our mind and asked him trivia questions, for each one he got right he got himself 30 seconds head start. Fun times....

I loved playing Day Z when it first come out when you HAD to play on which of the handful of servers had a spare slot, regardless of time of day. As I'm in the UK and play mostly on an evening this menat i was suualyl playing at night. However it just added to the appeal of teh game and back then NVGs were a myth as they were rare as rocking horse shit! For me, having players forced to use flares and chemlights really added to teh atmosphere and I loved it! It still brings back fond nostalgic memories when I see a flare lit up in the dark in Day Z even now. So for me the only problem with night time is night vision. Right now you know that anyone playing on a night server is either playing with NVG or is very wreckless/using gamma controls. For me take away NVGs from the game and get everyone at the same disadvantage at night.

Been suggested a few times recently but I dont think it's a good idea to be honest. These natural disasters would soon start to dominate the game and become far too common. I do like the idea of better weather effects that have greater affect on game play such as high winds affecting vehicle handling and even shooting, fog and heavy rain affecting visibility , wet roads making vehicles handle poorer, etc. that sort of thing. No to earthquakes, twisters, volcanic eruptions and things like that though.
