Feel free to check us out @ The BSB Network - http://www.bsbnetwork.com We've been around since 2002 and supported Day Z since launch, so we won't be here today, gone tomorrow like some clans! We have our own comms server, 3 factions of members (Ravens, Scorpions & Jackals) all fighting it out against each other and competiting in weekly Faction Wars events. Our factions play as Bandits (Scorpions), Heroes (Ravens) & Traders/Mercenaries (Jackals) and our server is regularly populated (see signature) and very active. Check out the website for more details!

A lil' help with the server settings

yea its the phpmyadmin that comes with the server - not a lot of documentation to read unfortunately! -
Then you have my beans sir for the calculations! Well done! I mus admit I'm a bit of a stats fan - I love trawling through stats - particularly gaming stats so reliable figures based on universal Day Z gaming would be very interesting to me!
-
11 years of stability not good enough? :P
-
nice work, I applaud you if you have worked this out for yourself. However as Fraggle says, these are public hive stats and are unreliable as there are loads of factors that have an affect on this data such as un-returning gamers, banned gamers, multiple users, gamers who have switched to private hives etc. So I would argue with the "important ratios" title... :P i would love for more universal stats, or the production of private stats, to be added to stand alone tough.

Niceone. Where exactly does this go though, in the world_vehicles table? SQL scares me! -
not as original as I was hoping when I first read the title! I think it's common knowledge that Stand Alone release is likely to feature underground sections of map as Rocket stated last year he would like the game to feature underground stashes and compounds. Personally in terms of map improvements I think a map needs to be as diverse as possible, with as many different things as possible put in (properly and tastefully!). Some of the best suggestions I read here last year were things like having massive scale maps with zones that could be ran across multiple servers - for instance you could have miles of countryside but if you travelled long enough you would eventually reach an urban zone, perhaps hosted on another server (for the sake of hardware capabilities) . I personally like this sort of approach as it means you can have regions of preference, for instance heavily industrial areas, woodland, urban and towns, suburban, mountainous, even water based regions (with lots of little islands and things), all with lots of areas to explore and establish camps, safezones, traps, faction territories etc. However this would probably rely and work best on of condition of having everyone (or large numbers) playing one one persistent Hive (or several official hives) and a single giant map. I have a love/hate relationship with private hives, one of the best things I love about them is the ability to have different maps and circumstances, i think the above idea would probably be a good compromise to those of us who love the versatility of private hives but who yearn for the core elements that public hive gave us! . Yea I agree with this, Namalsk was very bugged underground and i'd say the underground bunker/tunnels are the least professional part of a very well polished map - and I believe this to largely down to the engine it's self.

Check us out @ The BSB Network - http:///www.bsbnetwork.com We have supported Day Z since launch and will be supporting it well into stand alone. We're well established having been set up way back in 2002 and we support other games (such as ARMA 3, Wateland, WoT & BF3). Day Z wise we have our own server and 3 different factions (Jackals, Scorpions & Ravens) of members all competing against each other with a Faction Was season with various weekly events being played. We have a Mumble comms server and most of our members are adult games. We dont have any silly trials or rules otehr than play fair and have some common sense! More details on our website

A lil' help with the server settings
boxman80 replied to domey's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hi mate, welcome to the forum. The first thing I'd ask is who are you renting your server from as this may affect how you tackle your issues? For the issues you have with spawn rates,I'd recommend using a custom loot table, if you have access to your PBO's. I used this script;- http://opendayz.net/threads/100-custom-loot-tables-tutorial.8474/ However I suspect this will be obsolete come the release of 1.7.7, or at the very least it will need some substantial changes made to it. -

Hi all, I've recently started having problems with Battleeye updates when trying to connect to my server. Started about a week or so back, each time theres an update I have a hell of a job getting updated. Once I connect I get the message that my BEClient is out of date 1.97 1.20 required etc. Then it says "updating" then once updatd it says "initializing 1.97" again! Then I get kicked for having out of date BEfiles! I';ve tried the only suggestion on BE's website which is to download the client manually, and this has made no difference at all! Any advice at all?
-
Cheers for the assistance. Im running the stand alone version actually and had just tried to "uninstall" battle eye from the battle eye folder in the belief it would automatically install once i loaded up OA but now I cant connect to any server as it just says failed to initialise for BE. Not sure how to re-install BE without a full re-install which i fear im going to have to do anyway!
-
Tried a few other servers and I'm getting the same thing. Bit of a nightmare .
-
No mate, everyone else is connected sweet as my signature shows :S Its a bit of a mystery. Im going to try and connect to another server now and get the update from there just to rule out server issues though, thanks.

Wow, nostalgia thread! lol This thread was all over the forums last summer! Yea it's an aknowledged mistake that they have tried to correct by only allowing the winchester to use its own dedicated slug rounds instead of the standard shotgun buckshot and slug rounds it used to take last year. Probably easier than trying to redo the attributes of the gun from scratch. Intersting idea thougha bout making the military grade weapons rare, one I share ideally and can see the sense in. I agree it would add a lot to the game by having more civilian styled guns sucha s various older shotguns, rifles etc.
