Hi guys. So recently I've noticed just about every chopper wreck I find spawning with medical boxes instead of guns. And that doesn't bother me too much; I've been saved from NWAF-to-Elektro trips countless times by the odd chopper wreck giving me morphine sticks and the like. On top of that, I don't see there being much value in hunting wrecks and praying for Fals and/or L85A2s anymore; I can pretty much just shoot other players and take theirs, saving me the hassle. It's not nice, but hey!; man's gotta have a gun, doesn't he? So what about you guys? What are the merits of stopping at wrecks and thoroughly cleaning them out? How do you avoid going into cities for medical supplies?

What if every update, the forest gets a little thicker? Aging trees! Fantastico!

I can get that on one run through the NWAF, especially on a population server.

Very good points made. I was thinking about the possibility of (in the event that the hueys are taken out of the game) using a toolkit to take weapon parts off of heli wrecks. A large vehicle or multiple people would be required to carry the various pieces, 1, and 2, the frustrating possibility that 1 required piece of 10 has a 90% spawn likelihood and the last 2 have a .05% chance. Getting the parts together to make your gun, then, would take FOREVER; going out and hunting wrecks, anyone?

Okay. So whoopty-doo, I've got a spiffy new hat for (whatever) achievement. Oh, I got shot. Oh, he has it. ---or--- Hey, that guy has a cool hat! *shoots him* Why can't I take his hat?! Either way is a pretty big bamebreaker.

I had an idea like this (although it was Steam achievements), and I'm going to repeat a very important point someone brought up (sorry I don't know his/her name): Achievements cause players to not only leave their comfort zones, but to play in styles they do not like and would not normally choose for silly, useless things. IE, a moralistic player should never be forced to murder 100 players with handguns for a new hat; he could trade for the "Survivor cap" the way he would normally.

Bad Serial Number Given in Setup at game launch means your registry's recording CD key and Steam's CD key aren't matching, due to a change or accidental deletion. It's a simple fix; do some googling. If your friend got you Global Banned... you're fucked.

You don't understand my definition of a DayZ player at all and I'd thank ye kindly to not make assumptions like that. DayZ is not a deathmatch game at all, and long time players/active community members often complain about such a playstyle. I was agreeing with you in my last post, too! My actual troll event: I was walking south-east from Stary, trying to reach Chernogorsk to develop my hero skin. Instead, without a compass and no sense of direction, I ran south-west and reached Balota airfield. Someone had parked a nice little GAZ with a LMG, AS50, food, ammo, camping supplies... you name it, he had it. I drove down the runway with it, being shot at quite ferociously and innefectively. I parked the car far enough away that it took me 2-3 minutes to run back. I found him in the back of a hangar, shooting zeds with his PDW. When he was finished, I popped around the corner with the FAL I'd taken from his truck pointed at him. The conversation went something like, "Hey, I'm friendly. Are you?" "Yeah. Did you see a car go through here?" "Was it a GAZ full of gear?" "Yeah." "Nope." "Are you sure?" "Yes." "So you saw it?" "Nope." "Yes it did not see it or no you did?" "W-what...?" <---- I'm confused at this point, as is he. "Nevermind." "Oh wait yeah I did see it." "Where?" "I blew it up." "YOU WHAT?" I jumped back around the corner and avoided the spray of PDW ammo. He freaked out, ran at me, and I broke his legs after hastily switching to my hatchet, then ran away. He screamed at me the whole time (side chat is such a terrible thing). I jumped into his car, drove it back down the strip, and jumped out where he couldn't hit me. "I took the morphines out of your car and put them in my bag. Here's your car though. Have fun." I thought that was the end of the adventure... ...till I heard a car crash into l'eglise d'Elektrovazodsk. I ran to help, but was too late; as*hole squad of bandits blew the car up with their dam AMRs.

Were you/was someone using your internet to download or upload at the time/recently? Torrenting and whatnot can kill your bandwidth.

It's not in your steam folder; PW6 has its own folder.

Lower your graphics settings and don't do it in towns; redrawing the screen is a PITA for ArmA on lower end PCs. Also... hit shift + tab to access Steam messages, not alt + tab!

I use a mod list of faces. I'm currently Braveheart.
