Take out the hyphens, add a space every 2 characters... oooh that was difficult... XD Seriously though: It's asking for the same number of characters, isn't it? So just rewrite it in the new format. 345-657 can be changed into 34 56 57. -

You're saying I don't make good points when you have failed to come up with any evidence in support of spawning better gear past, "right now deer stands are pointless." I see you your school doesn't offer a debate team.

If no one had a gun, zombies would actually be a threat... almost. However, keeping guns rare makes character interaction more dynamic. Good and lucky players would find their normal M16s and AK47s here and there and could either turn to pointless banditry or genuine heroism. Right now everyone has a gun, so everyone shoots everyone and zombies die like nothing. Losing a gunfight in DayZ is extremely difficult unless it's you trying to clear a building, you're suffering from extreme wounds/debilitating effects, or its something unlucky like your Makarov vs a M14.

Well, it's the main reason. People use the excuse, "I want to avoid hackers" or whatever all the time to join servers that start them with a free gun. I've had a lot more hacker incidents on private hives than public ones.

People that don't like abusive admins and want to be able to play regardless of the status of a single server? I like public servers...

I'm not trolling, and I'm not arrogant. Is it wrong to think that extra guns is a bad idea? The game is about survival; more guns = less challenge.

I'm sorry. I thought more of the forums were of the opinion that the game doesn't need even more, even easier to obtain military firearms. I guess I shouldn't've expected any better from a bunch of TeamSpeak whoring rModders that would rather have admins spawn their gear in than actually play the game.

Yes, yes I did. And it was silly. I didn't have a bloody reason to run into Cherno or Elektro, because I could climb a deer stand without a single zombie giving a fuck and without seeing any players, get a DMR, and then go shoot players for their food and medical supplies. As long as there's military loot outside of cities and player attractions like airfields, there's no challenge to getting geared up. "I've never seen a player before, but I've got NVGs and all this other crap. In fact, I haven't even shot a single zombie; I just go running up the nearest hill and watch the zombies kill themselves."

So you want more military loot, is that it? Game is too hard for the wee babe? You can snipe in them, y'know. They make as good cover as trees when you hide behind them. You can climb up, crouch, and wait for agroed zombies to walk away. You can get bandages. Deer stands are extremely useful. Balota already has PLENTY of good spawns. You can get cars, vehicle parts, medicinal loot, and you can loot military tents. What the hell else do you need?

He wants firearms added to locations that are all over the map. Unless the CZ spawns are shit all, it's only going to add nearly risk-free loot locations for guns. I don't care if there's a 1% chance; there's enough deer stands next to each other in derelict, non-player-heavy locations that simply running up, running away, and running back will get you a CZ and ammo quicker than you can say player kill.

I'm mad because you aren't seeing the problem with adding good loot to extremely common objects. Think about it: When you have a fire station and a hospital in one city, a lot of people go there. There are fights over gear, player interaction, and the game is fun. When you add %>zero-risk look locations, players get scattered and find powerful weapons without a challenge better than pathetic zombies. Wanting them to have firearm loot is silly and hurts the most important part of the game: Player interaction. Firearms should primarily spawn in known locations, or ones that players are likely to loiter around. Player interactions are a lot more interesting when there are firearms involved, as apposed to just a can of beans or some soda.

What's the point of making a survival game if you're going to find a sniper rifle every 5 feet? *facepalm* There's no point in just taking them out.

What speed is your processor at? Due to ArmA being ArmA, hitting multiplayer (and leaving server selection) can load anywhere from 5 sections to 5 hours. If you hit enter/exit too quickly (like I do) to fly by screens, the game can crash.

First of all, they aren't fucking deer stands goddammit. The Russian military doesn't hunt deer. Whatever >.> Anyway: "Deer stands" are literally EVERYWHERE in the game; giving them good loot would be stupid.

How do you add Custom Vehicle Spawns on a Private Hive server?

A lot of dickface admins that can't play right use something called the rMod, which re-legalizes everything to the game. AS50TWS (thermal scope), T-90 tank (which is already legal), apache hunter-killer choppers, rocket launchers, et cetera. The rMod, however, is very tricky to install depending on how your server is set up. For me, I get an infinite loop of mission loading which won't let the server launch with non-DayZ mods, which kind of sucks because I'd like to have a RPG and MG nest for the occasional helicopter hunting spree but whatever. Any item can exist in the DayZ world. However, if you were to pick up a banned item (let's say, a Mk12SPR) or get into a banned vehicle (M1A1), you automatically get kicked if you fire the gun (although it isn't deleted from your inventory. The kick prevents you from hurting anyone/anything, but you do waste the bullet) and you get kicked (I believe) on moving the vehicle. The illegal vehicle will delete within 10 seconds of being entered. You can have an M1A1 to look cool; you just can't use it. The only time I've seen the rMod used right was on this massive RP server in which a loose coalition of expatriated soviet forces (bandits) used stolen Russian equipment (T90s, et cetera) to take over the major cities and north airfields. The US military, after stopping (most) of the west-hemisphere outbreak crisis, got paratrooped via C130J into Chernarus. The US and Russian forces had kick ass weapons (MG36, RPK-74, et cetera) and pretty cool vehicles (helicopters with no missiles, 5-shot RPGs mounted on trucks). There was a lot less focus on the real survival aspects... it was kind of a giant Team Death Match with zombies and starvation added in. -

Google CPBO and use it to unzip your mission file. Then, move the DayZ-related files out and edit the mission.sqf, removing the addons= and addonsauto= DayZ files and save. Then repack the mission, move it to My Documents\ArmA2OA other profiles\profilename\missions and place it wherever you save your editor missions. Then run ArmA 2 OA without DayZ enabled and open the editor. Load your DayZ mission file and start editing shit. You can add in buildings, weapon boxes, and all the other cry-baby spawn-in-gear admin bullcrap you want. Have fun. ;) (be careful not to spawn in DayZ-banned items, like the M1A1 Abrams Tank or AS50TWS) Save your mission when you're done, and choose "Export to MP missions." Go back to your MP mission folder (in your ArmA 2 OA directory) and find the exported version of your mission. Unpack it again and add all the DayZ stuff back in (mission.sqf and the files you may have deleted). Then launch your server as per usual. -
