    Pistol damage is STILL broken

In the SA, when weapons are their own entities, I can at least fuck up someone's AR by emptying a clip into the receiver or barrel.

    Pistol damage is STILL broken

They're supposed to kill in 1-2 shots? Well, damn! Didn't know they were meant to be that powerful. 2-3 shots would be nice, though. And yes they're still broken; takes 1 million shots to kill anything.

    Realistic infection management

I'm sorry, but you were trying pretty damned hard to make sure everyone thought your post "was not reflected" in any others. And I'd say that's a pretty damn large reflection.

    Realistic infection management

Coughing next to other players is already a confirmed infection vector.

    obtaining a vehicle.

Finding a car with metagame information (using the DB) is MUCH more rewarding, although it does require a lot of dumb luck. There's an almost 100% chance of finding a Ural behind the International Hotel in Chernogorsk for me. I've never been shot grabbing it, or shot escaping with it.

    Major lag in DayZ?

Server PING? What scans/changes were you doing to your PC? DETAILS, lad!
  7. Can you explain what you mean by, "Zombie farming" ? Calling it farming implies you're trying to get something out of the zombis, right? Anyway: Can't wait to box a bunch of zombies into an alley with my car, attract some "Friendly" players over, move the car, and watch them run with the legs I just broke.
  8. Inb4everyone calls you stupid, but the devs already ARE focusing on anti-cheat, mate. There's a reason scripts won't be executable by players anymore (how cheats are done) Welcome to the community, and read the devblogs.

    stuff for trade

I'll give you a M24 and 3 magazines if you can give me more than 1 mag with the Sa58. I fucking love those things.
  10. I've watched the devblogs, and dammit I want the game to come out as badly as the rest of you, but there's been contradiction between what has been said and what game features there will be pertaining to the inventory. The one that bugs the hell out of me, is this: Rocket has said a few times that he wants loot to spawn in cupboards, in sinks, on walls, under tables, under beds, on shelves, and every other possible hiding nook so that players will not only feel immersed, but to make loot runs a challenge; the careful bird gets the last worm, 'eh? BUT, in the pre-E3 (if I know my dates right) showcase, in which the dev had blue jeans, a striped shirt, and an Ak47, looting was very simple; he simply opened his inventory near a loot pile (not actually looking at and interacting with it), and by proximity (as he said), the items were displayed as lootable. What's the challenge in hunting for things when I can essentially guess where I think loot will be and hit G? I like the idea of convenience, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of scrounging? The reason the title includes, "Because other games are fun," is because I had this idea: What if each item was unique ("loot piles" were done away with completely), and a Last of Us-style pickup system was employed? You would hit grab while looking at something, and it'd randomly be added to your inventory (because in a rush, you aren't really worried about whether your ammo is in your jacket pocket or pants pocket), and you'd have to sort your inventory out later? Things would not be auto-added to the backpack (that would require purposely/intentionally adding it). In this system, look would have to be seen and interacted with, and rushed players would need to find time to sort themselves out.
  11. That's about the last section of my post. Thanks for agreeing. :)

    player allowdamage true v2.0

I read the title and thought this was going to be an invulnerability hax post (this setdamage false)... Suffice to say, this is better than what I was planning to flame about. Being shot in the stomach won't instant-kill anyone with a 7.62. It'll knock them on their ass if it's not an AP, of course, and they won't be able to eat or really bandage up their internal organs, but no! 1 Hit KO is not the answer. Being able to survive 6-7 Stanag SD rounds at point blank to the chest isn't the answer, either. I know people are going to cringe if I positively bring a triple-A FPS title into the discussion, and sorry, but we could all tip our hats at Battlefield's system: A lot of the guns will kill each other at close range, no problem. But dammit, if I shoot you in the back with an AKM at 600M (which I've done), it shouldn't have the same damage as point-blank. There should be damage drop off. The M107 and AS50 have been removed, so we don't need to worry about the "God Guns" being even MORE powerful (because they're designed for INSANE distance shooting). But my DMR and my Cz50 shouldn't be killing in one hit because I got you in the lower back at 1KM.

    Trading Ghillie Suit for E-tool

Someone titled, simply, "X," giving away a ghillie suit for such a mundane item? Hmm... hmm... I'll give you some bullets, if you'd like?

    Infection Mortality and Surviving it

Little to no antibiotics? What are you talking about? There's literally cardboard boxes full of 20 something blood bags and antibiotics so common, you can find them in the middle of the woods! Speaking of which, if a helicopter crash spawns in the woods, shouldn't the trees around it get flattened?

    Tips on aiming?

ArmA takes some getting used to. I've been playing since A2 released their "Demo" version, and I'm still getting used to it. What I suggest (and not many people will agree with this, but) go into options, and set your aiming deadzone to 1-5%, JUST enough that you can turn your gun without turning your camera slightly to one side or the other. Because ArmA movement can be awkward (at best), I feel like slow or still targets are easier to get a bead on when I move the gun a tiny amount, as opposed to my whole person. Also, learn to use PGUP PGDWN to change your zeroing. Finally, some weapons (AKM, AK47) don't have fantastic iron sights. Holding right click without your weapon raised will allow you to zoom and aim with the green bars and dot. In CQC, where doorway movement is impossible, it's pretty useful to have your gun down but accurate. At range, iron sights designed for CQC won't perform very well.
  16. Regardless of the range, they can't make it so you're got to stand right on top of the thing. Spamming your inventory key is going to do your looting for you.

    Safe spots?

Nowhere is safe. Nowhere. Except the middle of the street somewhere in Elektro, preferably where all 3 fire stations can shoot at it. I once had one of those with a DMR inside and a satchel charge next to it. Hmm. Fun.
  18. But in real life, spinning in a circle doesn't tell you there's food hidden behind an empty box and an axe under the couch.
  19. So you spin around a few times while laying down, and then open your inventory. Proximity inventory definitely doesn't seem like the kind of thing you'd code in, planning to rip it back out.
  20. Alright, here's my 3rd argument: If LoS is required once (presumably per server join, as it'd reset when you leave), then you could spin in a 360 around the room, lay down to do it again, then open you inventory and still have the proximity looting.

    Cd-Key

I think you should invest more free time into reading, but... *shrug* I can't indorse anything less than quasi-legal without an admin or someone getting mad.
  22. That's what the stream made it look like. And how do you maintain LoS if you crouch and look down when you open your inventory, when the loot in question is on the fridge top or something? How do you get LoS under a bed without going prone?
  23. If you're able to play the game, don't sweat it; if your key's in someone else's hands, damage is already done. Just pray they wait until the SA to get you banned. Also, your pseudonym isn't very nice. I like books. >.>

YOU. ARE. NOT. GOING. TO. PLAY. DAYZ. UNTIL. YOU. REPURCHASE. THE. GAME. Do you understand?
  25. Make sure your game is updated and whatnot, and launch ArmA 2 OA. BAF and whatnot come with ArmA 2 OA, and doing the "Check file integrity" (or whatever) should check for their .bikey files and fix your problems.
