GUID Changed, but same CD Key, PID

Hmm.... GUID seems like it's been the only constant in DayZ hacker stories (I've never heard of the GUID changing, at least. But I'm hardly an expert). Get Advanced Systemcare (or whatever program you use) and scan, scan, scan!

As far as I know? Forever. But you should check in regularly and hide it well.

New Spawn - What Would Your Route Be?

I don't leave Elektro/Cherno until I'm pretty geared up, most of which coming from dead noncityboys. It's exciting! to hang out in the city. There's a forest north-west of the road into Elektro from Cherno that's a pretty great spot to set up camp. I'll sleep there to recover blood and hunt, then run into Elektro and loot. I once got 4 cars (semi repaired) and enough loot for 6 players set up. Tents, food, medicine. Of course NO ONE believed the "Crazy guy" who drove into Elektro saying, "I've got free gear north of here, get in." I mostly got shot at or people ran away from me. It was kind of sad. It was more sad when I lost 3 AKMs (my favorite weapons in the game) when I eventually died and the stuff was taken.

I'm sorry. Are you okay? :( I once got sent into orbit when I dropped a smoke grenade and stepped on it. I bet it scared the fuck out of everyone shooting at me.

DayZ is draining at first...but it's fun.

Why would he insult the town of Fuck? You would be a very unhappy country.

I'm sure whoever Fuck You is wouldn't be very happy with that statement, or the subject-verb agreement.

All you want is a sniper's rifle and a camping spot? Go play COD. >.>

Ballistic vest/chest rig idea for standalone.

When you KNOW there's going to be a fight, you stuff it in your car until you need it. Duh?

Ballistic vest/chest rig idea for standalone.

It'd be the kind of thing you'd leave in your car until you knew there was trouble coming up.
  11. I almost never shoot other players; I don't think that's a very fun way to play. I'm what you can call a DayZ creeper. I literally stalk people from town-to-town when I'm bored, occasionally throwing flares at them on night servers or sniping zombies to help them/scare them away. And what I've noticed, through following these players, is how people tend to interact with each other or how they react to gunfire. Some players drop prone, spin around, and start shooting if a bullet lands near them. Others run the hell away. My personal favorites are the idiots that don't react at all, for whatever reason. I've also noticed that players are way too trusting of straners; if I had a dollar for every time I followed a player and he said, "Hey I'm friendly!" and was immediately shot, I'd be a moderately successful man. I like to call myself DayZ's avenging angel-when I see a player KoSed, I shoot the asshole that killed them. If I see someone with a bandit head wrap, I shoot them. If I see someone with a ghillie suit and an AMR or a sniper rifle camping around the coast, I shoot them. What qualifies as a legitimate reason to shoot without provocation? Is it natural distrust for other players, or are you just a jerk and like killing people? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHBjt-Lnixo

By pseudo I mean lots of things. *wink* Anyway: Interesting. I'd like to have the peace of mind that home base is guarded by real military, but I guess overseas does have a lot more to deal with; not as many drunk first years in the states causing a ruckus. You know how many people lost their jobs in car accidents in the 2 weeks I spent in Fort Irwin in California? 6. One guy lost a leg and an arm on his motorcycle in his first week after bootcamp. >.> The Mojave is a great place though.

I hadn't heard of any contracting to take MP jobs away (if that's what you're saying. Or are you saying the opposite?) But I do not drink either, but you never know what'll happen. Plenty of people swear off of drugs and just look at Lindsay Lohan or whatever the hell her name is.

You're going to get all mountains of shit as an MP. They're probably one of the least respected parts of the military (not THE most unrespected). You're basically in charge of pissing off the drunks, and you're the only person with drinking restrictions off-duty.

    Arma 3 Frame Rate Issue?

I can help. Drop everything to minimum, unless it has the "Disable" Option and make your view setting <1000. I know that's a no brainer, but whatever. If your FPS doesn't improve, change settings to "High" (or "Ultra") and see if your frame rate improves. THe most recent update has taken 10 FPS off my gameplay which is a pain in the ass.

    Pseudo. And yourself?
  19. So I was thinking while writing some posts not long ago about how counterintuitive DayZ. And I don't mean you expect it to go one way and it goes the other, you'd expect controls to be different or whatever. Abstractedly, the game experience itself is very odd. Although I have never been killed by a ladder, or a door (I joined the game the patch after those problems were "fixed" thank god, and not the TM one), there are many things that have happened to me in DayZ that have been absolutely frustrating. For example, emptying 30 Stanag SD rounds into some asshole from an M4SD, and then being killed by his M4SD (while at full health) in 3-4 bullets. But for every time I've died and ragequit for the night, I've written at least 20 posts on the forums. I've got 5+ hours for every dumb death I've died of. I don't stop playing DayZ. Even if lag throws me off a cliff. Yet the very second lag forces me to sit through a 5 minute scoreboard screen while all the other players are still killing each other in Halo 4 is enough to make me turn off my Xbox for the day. Being spawn-camped by a load star (or whatever the fuck it's called) is enough to make me stop playing BLOPS2 for a week. Having my tank suddenly flung off the map in BF3 in the middle of an epic killstreak because I drove on the curb is enough to make me stop playing Battlefield for a couple hours. Yet the three above games, even when I die, when I rejoin the game experience is more or less the same... same match, same score + 2-3 deaths (10+ in CoD...). I get all my gear back, game goes on (hopefully) like normal and everything should be hunky dorey. But I have zero patience in those games for random occurrences and inconveniences like a lag spike gets me killed unexpectedly. And in DayZ a server can suddenly get 500 ping and when I bandage it doesn't update, wasting all my bandages and killing me of blood loss, so I have to sit through the death screen for 1+ minutes and sit through the load screen for 5-15 minutes (you guys remember the old DayZ?). And yet I haven't stopped playing for more than 2-3 days (granted no other games got in the way). Am I just a console hater looking for an excuse to stop playing, or is DayZ that good? Dying in DayZ isn't NEARLY as frustrating as it is in first person shooters for me. I yell a "God fucking dammit" occasionally dying in ArmA 3 because an AI shot me and yet if I lose a AS50, ghillie suit, cooked meat, full tools, a repaired/fueled car, a M9SD, and an AKM (AKM being my favorite weapon in game), it doesn't even phase me. Zero, neutral reaction.

    DayZ's Counterintuitivity

I've been playing ArmA 3 a lot (as a DayZ hiatus) and dammit, dying even once is enough to make me stop playing singleplayer.

    Balancing out the Infection

For the last, goddamned time, I came up with the pseudonym "Applejaxc" a very long time before MLP became popular. It has nothing to do with the cartoon, or the cereal. It's an independent invention. If I were to name myself after Apple jaCK, why would my avatar be Rainbowdash? Hmm? And MLP isn't targeted at 6 year old girls. It's like "Where is Roger Rabbit"; a great movie for adults disguised as a movie for kids.

Just a backpack? Ever toted a rucksack? It's awful. I had to go 2 miles uphill with 50 pounds of rocks + a 5 pound metal skeleton rig and kevlar type 2.
