Automatic "Rich person" cars should exist in higher class residential areas, so late-night cruisers and Russian clubgoers don't have to worry about changing gears. Chenaran military vehicles of course should be gearboxed all the way. :) But how would changing gears work? 1,2,3,etc and disable inventory hotkeys in vehicles? Number pad? ...

Well you just add counter knifing, and counter-counter knifing, and so on and so forth.

Or... you could just pull your knife out and stab them 37 times, bathe in their blood, choke YOURSELF (because that's more fun) and flood Elektro with your... how do I say this politely... expellations. Yeah. That works. In fact Google spell check even says it's a word.

The alpha will have tents/manholes and whatnot, as promised and as is already in game so far as know. The full game (I'm guessing at some point in the alpha, too) you can make your own base and store stuff there. Not that I'm crazy about independent instances and-ugh. Lowering the resolution will NOT change your FPS... if you're talking about the value that has the (100%) or (87%) or whatever. I play at 1280x720 for recording reasons and I tend to get better doing that than native resolution (1366x768). Just drop everything to its lowest graphic settings... which is a cheaty way to be able to stop enemies at long range, by the way. But shhh... Your graphics card seems to be kind of weak... as far as I know. I'm not a Radeon person.

You also need ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead, a game that's basically ArmA 2 with more maps and Taliban/Al Qaeda-inspired missions/enemies/vehicles. It adds backpacks and the sort to the game. http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-oa_en.html

I haven't had any problems using it at all... and I thought he meant "Current version" as in "Current version of DayZ" (In Chernarus)

They're still legitimate (won't kick you) but I don't think they spawn anymore.

What the hell do you mean the Steam version "Kinda sucks" ? That IS DAYZ...??? Anyway: Yes. Go into steamapps/common/whatever/whatever/@dayZ and just replace everything in their with your "Special better than DayZ youwish" and launch it like normal.

Really? Huh! I've never found anything up there... and other than assault rifles/pistols I've only ever found a DMR. And a M911 vs a Lee Enfield when fighting zombies is kind of a no-duh... :)

You're offering really high level stuff for menial parts. Why not find them/shoot someone for them?

If I played DayZ pretending I was Applejaxc, I'd be lying under a rock waiting to die because zombie apocalypse means no internet, junk food, bad sleeping habits, or luxury expenses. I'd go so internet-hungry I'd stalk people...for miles...and wait for them to say something and jump into the conversation and start correcting all of their grammar while heiling in the name of the Deutschland army with the most shit-eating grin in the world, realizing all of my "Smart guy" military/firearm knowledge is crap I read on the internet that isn't true... hell, even the smart-people parts of the apocalypse wouldn't benefit from me. Hell if I actually know what I'm talking about half the time I touch my keyboard, let alone understand the intricacies of blood transfusions, disease treatment... I'd be one of the last people you'd want to team up with.

And that's what happens when you rush in blind. What you do is you set up, flip a (Rigged) coin/roll a (rigged) dice to see who has to crawl into camp until the zombies spawn, and then have them crawl back out and open fire.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but you consider 1 month to be experienced? Either I absolutely suck or 1 month isn't long enough to be experienced. I don't think I even knew the NWAF was a thing in my 1st month of playing... now that I think about it, I sucked at DayZ for a really long time... I think I hold the record for most bunnies shot while walking from Elektro to Stary Sobor to the NWAF though. I took my G17, 3 magazines, and my cooking supplies and just walked. Took half an hour not counting zombies I hid from, players I (almost) hid from, and all the time I wasted cooking rabbit. I accidentally dropped my backpack in Elektro... So long story short I don't think you want me in your group. :)

You can't take on 50 zeds on more-or-less flat forest terrain with that gun? That's kind of... sad. And anyway that's why you get friends and you shoot them from the trees. Or just crawl into the camp, loot everything undetected, and leave. It's almost impossible to get spotted by a zombie if you're prone in a forest.

Rocket's pretty much 100% said there's no life-to-life benefits, VIP status benefits, or items purchasable with outside currency. It's not WarZ, after all.
