    One life per day idea.

It's a nice idea, but the fact that it's a video game accessible by children means it's never going to fly. I find it interesting, but a 24 hour break is horrendous. Think about how impatient and crappy DayZ videos would become, if content creators had to wait 24 hours to record again every time they died? ESPECIALLY if you survive for a week, get everything you want in the game, then die. And every time you respawn, you either get spawn-killed or glitch killed, and don't really get to play for 2 weeks? People would stop playing.
  2. Speedos, probably... Either that, or my current Halo 4 armor, which got changed around by some children recently. https://spartans.svc.halowaypoint.com/players/Applejaxc/h4/spartans/fullbody?target=large I can't put the whole picture. It's not accepted by "this community" apparently.
  3. You can't step on Minecraft if your kids are too lazy to clean up. So yes, it's better than lego. Also, regardless of being publicly available, as long as it's hosted on a server I can join, I can get a copy of it. Just takes some Java know how.

    Dayz offline Playable?

DaiZy Singleplayer DayZ with whatever "Version" of DayZ you want and map, with AI bandits and survivors.
  5. Applejaxc suffices in the mod, where I primarily just piss around. Otherwise, (if I feel like roleplaying, which isn't done in DayZ enough anymore) I've got a couple of names for different personas I take on, like Artyom and 'Ser' William.

    DayZ Standalone "Houses Capturing"

God... *rubs eyes* I'm tired, so I'm sorry if this comes off as kind of cranky, but... NO! Dean has already said above-ground houses (built and spawned on the map) are never going to be done. They cause lag, visual artifacting (among other bugs), and make load times too long.
  7. Before you rage and freak out because I don't want DayZ 100% multiplayer, just leave. Thank you. That being said, I do not think Rocket should waste time or budget working on a campaign. Bohemia's engine just isn't a good platform for delivering a compelling story, leastwise not one worth DayZ--though that's not to say I haven't had fun in ArmA campaigns (like Resistance... although I would trigger the Russian invasion too early and my work building would explode when I got to it), but we're never going to see something as cinematic or tear-jerking as Last of Us, or in depth and creative as Heavy Rain on the ArmA platforms. THAT being said, just because a campaign shouldn't be included in my opinion (but if Rocket finds a way to make it work then I'm all for it), I would like singleplayer options for when my internet is out. Armory mode: Just like what is already in ArmA2; you choose a gun, piss around with it for a couple of minutes, then a random "Would you like to do XXX objective?" popup lets you do a mini mission with it. Rather than kill house and animal hunting*, however, there would be "Clear infestation at XXX" and you'd have to kill a certain number of Zeds in Cherno or Elektro or wherever within the timeframe. There could also be recover loot at a heli crash, raid a hospital of supplies before something happens... Or best of all, find and defend some poorly equipped AI. The AI don't need to join your squad, be particularly intelligent, or have any positive elements other than able to shoot at Zombies and not able to shoot at players.Horde mode with Easy, Normal, Hard, etc. Essentially, you're spawned in a building, tent, or some feasibly defensible location, with a supply box. The variety of weapons and numerity of ammunition/supplies depends on difficulty setting. The name pretty accurately describes the scenario: A horde of zeds is coming to kill you, try not to die.Singleplayer sandbox. Kind of goes without being said. Cheats enable and disabled mode. Same thing as normal DayZ, but without other players. I don't care if there's AI or not, I just want to explore without some jerkoff taking me out with his AS50...Mission editor, with ArmA2/3 modules, scripting, etc, except for obvious elements being taken out of the game, like squad commands, etc. Essentially for making 1 man vs the world missions. *Speaking of animal hunting, has anyone played with the ArmA armory with DayZ loaded? It's hilarious! There's missions that tell you to go hunt cows in Chernarus, but the mission only pops up while playing on Feruz Abad (or whatever the hell the Takistan map is called), and if you accept it, it throws you into the debug plains and all of the "Cows" you're "Hunting" are zombies.

What's this jungle of Dayz mods?

Yeah. Take no risks, shoot everyone you see, and don't try fitting guns in your backpack.

What's this jungle of Dayz mods?

Vanilla is the absolute best, in my opinion, and here's why: Like 70% of the bandit population left to go play Origins, because you literally get a free ghillie suit for shooting other players (instead of the "normal" bandit skin)I have a personal distaste for the ethics and morals of Breaking Point's creatorI'm familiar with the Chernarus map, and I don't get the same feeling from the game with other ones (although some of the other maps are really, really fun outside of DayZ)I find the "Other DayZs" more immersion breaking than vanilla. I don't consider them lore friendly, and I feel they undermine Rocket's/his brother's efforts at scientifically and historically explaining the origin of "Zombies" in their game, even before they've had a chance to show it in their own game.Namalsk is maybe the only exception, because I do enjoy the map, even though a lot of it is very empty and there's fences all over the place that are *just* too tall to vault, which is a pain in the ass because they make me run in giant, lootless circles That all being said, I understand the appeal of the non vanilla DayZ servers. If you want more guns and tasers, check out breaking point. If you want to fight super deady monster things that kill you in 2 hits... I think Origins has "Berserkers" or whatever

    DayZ "Gameplay Suggestion" Bias (Rant)

For a mobile, the post wasn't half bad. However, I reserve my right to give you beans and here is why: An "Insanity meter" doesn't fit into the game in my opinion. I think it's kind of silly. Not everyone is or goes crazy because they shot at someone. Your assumption that 50 kills = insane person, right? Well what about all the soldiers around the world, shooting and throwing grenades at each other through history? Most of them are still sane. And while statistically any given person serving in armed forces probably won't kill more than 20 people in their standard career (this isn't counting Navy SEALS, British SAS, American Special Forces and SOCOM, etc), the principle is still the same in the modern day: You go to hostile territory, where anyone could have an IED in their britches, and are expected to be friendly with everyone that isn't shooting at you. So no, the only detriment to shooting other people in DayZ is maybe feeling bad, and having less ammo. Furthermore, in the SA won't feature magical clothing changes anyway; everyone's outfit will be pick-and-choose.

    SA Single Player Scenarios

I had a 10v12v16 (10 soldiers, 12 survivors, 16 bandits) battle happen in Chernogorsk once. I only had a pistol at the time, so you can bet your bottom dollar I went for the nearest rooftop and laid there in third person until the fight was over! It was pretty incredible though. Until an A10 crashed into my building and killed me.

    Egg Timers

So, I've been thinking of ways to distract zombies. As we've already seen in devblogs or done in the mod, you can use flares, smoke grenades, and radios to attract and distract zombies. Those of you who have played real ArmA 2, or ArmA 3, and like blowing things up, should be familiar with the way placed explosives work; you set it down, and then can either set a timer at 30 second intervals or use a remote detonation up to 300 meters or so. Using that system, why don't the game makers add egg timers to the game? Instead of exploding at the end of the count down, however, the egg timer goes off, ringing and making curious zombies come to it. What else could make noise on a timer? Also, bicycles with chirpy bells on them.
  13. applejaxc

    Egg Timers

The only problem is electricity. Wall-powered ones would be more common than battery powered ones, and to that end, wouldn't you rather save your batteries for something useful?
  14. applejaxc

    Egg Timers

You set it for 10 minutes. It goes off in 10 seconds. XD
  15. No it doesn't. I'm insulting them for being cowardly and for being stupid.
  16. Because they're pvssies that don't know how to change their gamma? And night time is AWESOME! on low population servers. Chuck flares outside of town and run through Cherno, Elektro, Berezino, and the airfield without being shot at or chased.

I'm not a brony. Although MLP isn't lame.

Coming from the gay black elf sucking a candy cane... that means something. Y'know, 'cause you'd know what it means to be lame. Heh. Get it? Pun? I'm very sorry if this offended you. XD

    SA Single Player Scenarios

Walking Dead by Telltale games is dead to me. As dead to me as its two best characters...

If you like to snipe and only snipe join this server :D

No. I like DayZ the way it is. Where everyone spawns with NVGs, M9SDs, and FALs. That's how you're supposed to play. Duh. No, but in all seriousness what the fuck?

    SA Single Player Scenarios

The idea isn't training missions. The idea is, sometimes multiplayer is a pain in the ass and we all don't have God's internet.
  22. applejaxc

    SA Single Player Scenarios

Sounds like fun... the only hitch, is a LOT of AI is getting "ripped" out of the SA's engine.
  23. applejaxc

    SA Single Player Scenarios

You don't need steam to install from disc. Steam isn't a requirement for the installation process at all.
  24. applejaxc

    SA Single Player Scenarios

There's no way there's going to be a no-Steam version, unless when you get the disc it makes you install Steam with it. Sure... Redemption or Revolver?

    Powdered Perishables

Hi. :) So in DayZ, you can drink soda and water. The problem therein is that soda is not particularly nutritious and water flavorless and bland, unless you count biotoxins and disease-causing germs to be a flavor. Also, drinking water alone with a diet of canned pasta and beans isn't an incredibly nutritious diet, either. So why not have non perishables that, when mixed with water, simulate the tastes and effects of other items? Namely, powdered milk comes to mind. Also powdered dietary substitutes like breakfast blends or similar "On the go!" items. Why not mixes for those miracle "Protein shakes" like Muscle Milk? And if there's going to be candy/cereal bars, why not multi-use boxes of cereal? Unless you want to eat an entire box of Apple Jacks or Lucky Charms in one sitting, which I don't recommend. For Rocket's nutritional "You are what you eat" system, where every meal is a decision that affects our end-game, I think being able to drink "Milk" and exercise-supplementing drinks is fantastic.
