  1. I like your anecdote; it was cute, and remind me of my own childhood experiences. That is where, however, two trains of thought diverge, and I choose the road better taken: Practicality over Ideology. I prefer to keep things simple, straightforward, and easy. I have to be really, really bored to "Rob" someone; the fight-or-flight reflexes in my brain make me shoot him/her or anyone within like 15 feet of me.
  2. The problem is, it's a lot more effective and a lot less problematic to (instead of stalk someone "for miles") simply wait in the woods near major towns for a single person to come near a fake camp (or similar trap) and shoot them, then take all of their things. Effectively you accomplish the same task (you have their items and they don't) with the added benefit that they can't shoot back, and you have all the time you need to sort out your inventory (in case they have something valuable you want that requires inventory configuring). There's another added benefit for the victim, as well: Instead of leaving them thirsty, hungry, and low on blood, you've at least reset them to "Fully healed" after taking all of their things. Thusly, shooting someone and looting the body is not only better for yourself, but makes you a better person than "Knockout shots" and robbing someone who is alive. ---Just playing Devil's Advocate, don't get pissy because I can see merit in shooting people. >.>

Trading: Do You? What's Desirable? Thoughts?

I like to survive on scavenging and the actions of random interactions, not loot runs and prearranged meetings.

Trading: Do You? What's Desirable? Thoughts?

There's an (evil) trading section (for cheating). I don't like it because it ruins the experience for me. Pretty much if I need something and someone doesn't give it to me, I shoot them.

    Lone wolf tips?

Kill everything. Move slowly, but don't stay still for too long.
  6. That's odd. Does the older PC have a better GPU? You said 79XX in both of the PC's stats; I'm going to go ahead and assume that's the model of AMD. What GHz is your brother's PC at?
  7. I can sing the song start-to-finish without music. I can also sing *most* of What is Love. I once made a player sing "I'm a Little Teapot" and do the dance. He forgot the last line and I shot him.

    Low FPS with DXtory

Absolutely best tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw6YAoai8fQ (link instead of embedded video because the youtube page has all the downloads you need)
  9. I recommend not getting DZ commander; it's evil. EVIL!

    Low FPS with DXtory

Really? Dxtory only takes 1 frame off for me, and my computer sucks! Are you using the Lagarith Lossless Codec in YV12 format? Did you set the write speed too high?

    Removing COOP?

That's... what it's supposed to be... DayZ is a "COOP gamemode"

    KG system.

No. The promised inventory system has already been made and looks good. As fun as Stalker is, no.
  13. There are public hives with donations/free gear. There's a lot of them.

    new dayz map?

What do you mean by "easy to run" ?
  15. Finally someone other than me is making a damn post about this. >.> Donating benefits ruin all games. Pay-to-win is pay-to-fail.

    Melee to primary

The way the SA will work, basically: You will have a hotbar, 0-9. Items "On the hotbar" are in your inventory, but whenever you hit the corresponding button, they will act as if you had right-clicked and chosen "Do this action." (eat, bandage, etc) Weapons will got into your hand/into your backpack (or other clothing item if applicable) as if you had switched pistol-to-rifle (or vice versa), except you can go rifle-sniper rifle-rocket launcher-pistol-knife-beans-pistol, if you forget your hotkeys like me, by just hitting 0-9 on your keyboard.

idea for make double barrel more realism

Yes, they would. Buckshot for military and police use, birdshot for hunting, beanbags for police use, CS penetrator for Vampyr use, and dragon breath rounds because Putin is crazy. Vietnam had them; you think Russia couldn't? Chernarus certainly could.

    Hi need help with dayz

I personally don't like DayZ Commander, even though everyone else here is absolutely in love with it. The (original and my) method is to install ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead. make sure you play both games (A2/OA) offline for a few minutes, then online so BattlEYE (the anti cheat client) installs to Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead. Steam (if that's where you got the game from) should give you the option to launch "ArmA 2: CO" whenever you open ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, which will launch ArmA2 and OA together as one game. If so, fantastic. Then you put @DayZ (the download you get from dayzmod.com) in your ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead folder, right click OA in Steam, choose "Properties," then "Launch options" and put in -mod=@DayZ (or whatever you named the folder) and launch the game.

    Yay or Nay

The fact that you have to ask makes me lose hope for the DayZ community. Choosing a spawn defeats the purpose of random spawns, regardless of the script's ability to spawn you up to 1KM of the chosen location (if that is the script I am thinking of). Letting people choose a class turns the game into an even bigger deathmatch fragfest; there's no point in surviving if I spawn with a Lee Enfield and all the equipment I need to just shoot animals and cook them. If you want empty towns and people shooting each other right out of spawn, go ahead. I guess.
  21. Hi. Question and poll are self explanatory: If you could use basic supplies (easily scavengable stuff) to make a "Suicide vest" (or such), would you bother actually trying to survive, or would you just run at people and blow them up?
  22. Uninstall the tools; you can ban and kick just fine with the vanilla controls, and there's no cheating item spawning.
