    Yes. ArmA 3 calls it "Fullscreen window" a long with a lot of other programs, so I used it's more common name...

    It doesn't drop FPS for me... I would like to see a "Fullscreen Window" mode in the SA though, like we have in ArmA 3.

    He's saying that all servers should be connected to some kind of database that can be checked (at random) for cheating admins and players. Evidence that an admin is abusing his power/et cetera = instant ban for the perpetrator(s).

    It makes the game a lot more fun. A word of the wise, disable the "FALL" mod; basically, whenever you get shot/shoot someone without killing someone, it makes them fall down. I know that's realistic, but it's REALLY annoying if a machinegunner opens fire on you. You fall to prone, stand up after a 10 second or so timeout, and then fall down again, and that happens 2 more times before you finally die.

  8. Yes. We're all aware that the game is a lot of PvP. But think about it... that's part of the fun, isn't it? You don't risk losing the "weeks" of work you put into WoW if you fail a raid, do you? And it is an RPG... no, it's better than an RPG. It's a sandbox social experiment.
  9. So... so much for you to learn... It takes a lot of difficulty out of the game. There's no teamwork required to reach 100% blood near-instantaneously with self blood bagging. It's a useless packet of bits that does nothing but waste the time of people trying to connect to a server.

    Hey, it was an honest suggestion from someone not acclimated to the general forum mindset. It's not your job to bash him for it. That being said, I think a big-ass dome with a splitting roof is an extremely obvious hiding place.

    Try everything at "Normal" and compare that to everything at "Ultra" (highest possible, except disable/"low" shadow and no post process effects or vsync). Try setting your resolution to 1280x720. Change view distance to around 800 (realistically, shooting past that isn't likely to hit anyway)

    100 hours a day? That's... that's a lot more than hardcore. That's seriously impressive. Anyway: 10-12 hours a week is pretty casual; that's about 1 and 1/2 hours a day, after all. About long enough to accidentally jump from a roof and get eaten by zombies during your 13 hour unconscious period.

    You didn't give us any details about your graphic settings! Is your game resolution set to your native monitor resolution? Is the 3D resolution at 100%? What about shadows and view distance? PPEs?

    I don't care what ideas you post; that kind of senseless, mean-spirited reply to a new member of the forums is a very, very sad representation of what I wish was a minority of DZF's community. That being said, it could in fact be done. Here's how: First you would have to model a brand-new building. Let's call it Epic Heli Base. In your Epic Heli Base, you'll need your basic walls, etc of any 3D building, + figuring out how to add Bohemia's *fantastic* ladder technology to your building. After that, you would add your roof, likely in 2 separate parts. For these roofs, you would also need to create an animation, no different than what is used to open/close doors now. These roofs, wen you scroll-wheel "Open/Close Roof" would then split, opening the hitbox and allowing the helicopter to land, provided the space inside is large enough and flat enough to accommodate a helicopter. It does sound like the kind of BS that belongs in Epoch, however; I don't want it in real DayZ.

  20. ToH is like... 2.5 and 0.5 at the same time. So on average? 1.5... Super helicopter physics, no infantry.
  21. Essentially, ArmA is ArmA engine 2.0. ArmA 3 is 3.0. DayZ Standalone is like... 2.5.

    The DayZ mod team isn't responsible for anything other than DayZ Chernarus. You will have to ask the Namalsk/Takistani/et cetera mod makers if and when their maps will support 1.8. Most likely, they already do.

    Have you tried resetting your screen resolution? Did you set your monitor resolution or in-game resolution?

    Basically when you have a mod, it will come with (if it's from a reputable source) .bikey files (Bohemia Interactive keys), which basically say "This is the name of the mod, these are the features, this is who made it". Servers use this information to ban/disable certain mods, tell people connecting what mods are required to play, and stop people from downloading a mod from, say, ArmAholic and then opening the .pbo and modifying the mod so your M16A3 suddenly fires rockets. Disabling is not a good idea; a lot of cheats are replicated by mods, and vice-versa. I could, in theory, have a "Mod" that changes global variables on initialization so that when I join your server, time acceleration is set to x10 (everything moves at 10 times speed) and tanks parachute from the sky manned by Russian soldiers ready to ruin your server.

Weather (rain, snow, etc) will change, and will have an effect on your health if you are not protected from it (IE you can freeze and catch a cold or wear too much and get heat exhaustion) Tide will not, most likely; the way water levels are done in ArmA is a little fiddly. It isn't impossible, however; I have seen some ArmA 3 mods that raise/lower water levels, but it isn't gradual from the beach sloping up; the way water is in ArmA, the water all around the map (sea level) would raise by the same amount at the same time. Thus at the same time the "tide" is rising, all the lakes would flood as well.
