Putting an End to "Can I run it?"

It's a preemptive for current-users having questions about PCs they plan to buy. No. No you cannot. *pulls slide back* Hold still. ..that's...like literally...what the website does. For a lot of different games.

    Gender Inequality?

This is the Internet, not Socrates' study. I forgot that when I made this thread. >.>

    Gender Inequality?

I do hope that contains sarcasm; this post was purely about biological differences, not suggesting that all men are born with the innate power to fix a tire with all superiority over women... which can all make sandwiches.

    Gender Inequality?

Wow you really, really missed the point of that... Survival of the fittest, for humans, includes overcoming social challenges as much as physical ones. Just because you reach an age that allows you to produce sperm/carry and birth eggs doesn't mean you're going to reproduce, especially not if no one in the world finds you attractive. We're taught from day-1 in most first world countries that fit, muscular men belong to thin, large-chested women. Because of this, men predisposed to developing that way and women predisposed to developing that way have a higher chance of reproducing children that will go on to have their own children, so on and so forth. Several generations of this for women, and thousands of years for men, means that our gene pool is muscular-centric and breastacular-centric respectively, thusly men are phsyically superior to women. It's the same principles as, say, breeding animals: If you only let the strong horses have babies, then there will only be strong horse babies. The point of the thread is that despite the proven physical superiority of men, I don't want the Standalone to have a difference in carrying weight/stamina between men and women.

Quick Dropping And Grabbing Of Items

Being crouched shouldn't be a requirement. And this could be done the same way opening a door works; you hit enter/middle-mouse-button when looking at a gun, and you pick it up, like in ArmA 3... except hopefully a lot more reliable. Now if the game could be made where switching weapons didn't make you stand still like an idiot. >.>

    End game

    Remember. Suicide is an option.

    Gender Inequality?

I'm concerned they might do it for realism. I don't think they should. That's the whole point of the thread.

    Gender Inequality?

...? Like, what for example? Only women can make sandwiches? I'm not sure what you're trying to market. There's a reason KoS is a ting. It isn't a non-issue; there have been plenty of posts suggesting that men and women by different statistics wise. And a lot of people choose female "for the lols" or so they're less likely to be shot at immediately.

    Character Customization

I'm curious as to how customizations would work. I'd assume that A, you could pick between an array of player models, or B, the player model would be bald/featureless and covered in (by default) transparent texture mats, and then you choose things in the options that change variables in game so your mats get replaced with coloration that would make it appear as if you had black hair/etc/etc...

    Gender Inequality?

Thank you. Anyway, men are more muscular due to society wanting them to be more muscular. I don't meant to offend anyone by bringing up something so contested, but think about Darwin's theory of evolution. Those men who don't become muscular (or rich) don't reproduce, thus the strong have strong children, so on and so forth, slowly creating a gap between men and women.

    Gender Inequality?

Scientifically, men have been bred for thousands of years to be the physical worker while women have been bred to bare children. It's not until recently (in the grand scheme of things, so to speak) that women have made a return in their place societally and have been given the power to strengthen themselves. But if men and women were equal physically, we wouldn't have womens' sports and mens' sports, would we? All I'm saying is that though men statistically are prone to be physically superior (carrying weight, stamina, etc), I don't think it'd be all that much fun for that difference to be observed in the game.

What's with the DMR / SVD?

It wasn't a serious response, mate.

What's with the DMR / SVD?

...umad? Anyway, maybe survivors learned how to shoot and that's why they slowed down.

    More Suggestions for SA

I agree with the first point. And some more maps would be fun. But no, no, and no to the rest.
  18. applejaxc

    how do your clans work

You download a program called TeamSpeak, you get a bunch of free stuff after joining a (usually) private server, and then cheat to communicate across the entire map through said program.

    More CDF Stuff.

Yeah, you're probably right. My version of the events leading to DayZ start shortly after the Chernarus campaign when spoiler alerts happened and would've caused a large existence of M16s, etc.
  20. applejaxc

    More CDF Stuff.

There should be a lot of CDF equipment (vehicles, weapons, etc), however in the Chernaran Campaign US forces were deployed in significant numbers and the CDF got supplies with enough gear from them, + what was left behind, + what the Russians obtained that it makes sense for M16s, etc to be around Chernarus as well. I'd like to see the availability of American weapons close to the availability of MILITARY-GRADE CDF/Russian weapons, however ammo for the latter should be much more common than the former.

    Random suggestions

"Eastern Europe" isn't a country. Do you mean IN Eastern Europe...? Anyway: The only times I've heard of an air gun killing someone was near point-blank range. Escape in the case of shooting rabbits or squirrels, it doesn't seem like such a low-powered weapon is worth carrying around. Just because it's quiet enough to not attract a zombie doesn't mean it's strong enough to...
  22. Why does the voting option have to say "as a last resort" ...?

    STANDALONE: Traps

There was no sarcasm in that post whatsoever.
  24. applejaxc

    STANDALONE: Traps

So was I. I don't see how that changes the relevancy of my post in any way.

    STANDALONE: Traps

1: Pits aren't going to work; ArmA just can't do that. 2: Bear traps? Awesome idea.
