Possibly map notes unique to the individual map?
applejaxc replied to VoltySquirrel's topic in Suggestions
Um? How am I supposed to make large, phallic representations of my superiority with your proposed individual maps? -
It's caused by the current implementation of the server bubble system.
-
Actually, no; DayZ the mod is free. You have no monetary investment therein, and unless you are going to try to provide more specific information, no one here can help you resolve your issue.

This has already been answered. By the dev team.

How to get high fps in DayZ Standalone and Twitch Streaming
applejaxc replied to de4dcert's topic in Gallery
...use Shadowplay? -
That's exactly why it's open to interpretation.

How about no? You should develop skills through usage, not through milestones.

How do you veterans start a fresh spawn? ( dayZ SA)
applejaxc replied to killbot420's topic in New Player Discussion
Ivory tower? I think the expression is high horse. And yes, I do enjoy my elitist gameplay, and I am more than comfortable in the saddle of Noncheating. -
How do you veterans start a fresh spawn? ( dayZ SA)

I have no difficulty with "Group play" using the game's provided chat features, whether it be radios or direct communication. In fact, I prefer the difficulty associated with the potential for other players to overhear our communications if we aren't careful. It's realistic, it's fun, and it's how the game is supposed to be played. -
I'm on a Toshiba Satellite with an integrated graphics card. Changing my memory setting (regardless of what I changed it to) seemed to give me better FPS for a few minutes. When the game slowed back down, I'd change it to something else.

Whats your favorite location on the map?
applejaxc replied to TheMaxedout's topic in General Discussion
It's not irrelevant; I'm curious what town it is, but I don't like going to the DB for anything. It's a completely new city to the SA. -
60FPS with a 10-30 drop around town sounds more like the performance you should be getting. Turn of PPPA and mess around with your video memory setting.

Whats your favorite location on the map?
applejaxc replied to TheMaxedout's topic in General Discussion
Is that from memory or the DB? -
Have you tried playing Arma 2 on Chernarus or Utes without DayZ running? Place a unit in the editor alone, and run around. I'd imagine your CPU is definitely powerful enough to run a multi-AI mission. I've heard across the board that it's a total crapshoot whether ArmA will like your GPU or not, regardless of how powerful it is. What drivers are you on? (Latest? Beta?)

I think he means his 3D resolution, which goes past 4K.

Your avatar looks like cleverly disguised pornography.

The map is not huge. It's tiny. I have a harder time getting lost in my backyard. Bohemia map design is very easy to learn, especially in titles that include an editor. I do agree the map needs natural borders, though; if you go north west far enough, you reach a magical land called the debug forest, where everything stops working and you may never return. Zombies do drop loot? Or if they don't already, they eventually will. You're complaining about zombies not being scary, and you want mindless ones?! Seems a little counter productive. There is sickness. Already. 5. All in design, just not implemented yet. Watch the DayZ youtube channel, like half of this stuff is covered already. 6. Skills are confirmed, and hopefully won't be as stupid as luck-of-the-draw. Everyone will just suicide until they end up with the two best skills using that system. The skill system should be a reward, not a gimme; you develop skills through usage. Teamwork doesn't equal survival. Teamwork equals people that could shoot you in the back any moment, steal your gear when you aren't paying attention, attract attention and get you killed, and use up all of your supplies.

Residential areas open in, but just about everything else (in the US) opens out after that nightclub caught fire. Everyone was so crammed against the door no one could pull it open and a hundred something burned to death.

Please add a "Bolt Cutter" as a Tool to cut through Fences
applejaxc replied to BerZerK's topic in Suggestions
Or tweezers or saw or et cetera. Bolt cutters aren't the only (or most convenient) way of doing things -
Is DayZ going to have microtransactions/DLC?
applejaxc replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Private hives will, but no, I don't think the devs would ever do that. I'm glad ArmA 3 isn't going to make shooting from vehicles a DLC. Let's hope they share it with DayZ. -

If it wasn't illegal for Battleye to monitor other activity on your computer, I don't think I'd be the only person lobbying to get TS detection a banning offense. While I concede your point that it is not a rule not to use third party applications to circumvent an issue at the very core of the post-apocalypse survival experience, it is still unfair. In Jenga, there's no rule that you can't have a model tower for experimentation, but it's sure as hell not in the spirit of the game. TS, Skype, Steam chat, Mumble, Oogle, Omega, et al ruin the experience for legitimate players. I don't understand how you can, in good conscious, play this game while using them. -

Real players play hardcore. The only cheat vision I have to deal with is ESP hackers. 3PP is the first thing I disable when playing OFP, A2, or A3. I'm not trying to be an elitist, this just illustrates my hatred for most DayZ players. I would be willing to bet you every paycheck I ever get (not counting taxes) that if there was an application that gave you 3rd person view without risk of being banned, every goddamn player on hardcore would be using it. It is exactly the same with TeamSpeak. The game intentionally institutes a level of difficulty, players intentionally circumvent said difficulty and in doing so gain a significantly unfair advantage over legitimate players. I absolutely can't wait for DayZ hive files to be released; in a heartbeat I will have mine set up, only 1 slot. Even if there's never a script made to add AI to fight, if it's literally just me alone with all the goddamn zombies, that'll be a better use of my monetary investment than dealing with other players and their cheating bullshit. -
I meant abnormal as people in real life have less of a propensity for gainless murder. But yes, the adrenaline rush associated with the all-or-nothing gamble of combat is exciting. I just wish less people ruined it by cheated or not respecting permadeath. Running back to your body to loot your stuff back is one of the most infuriating experiences in this game, almost as bad as killing someone, and them using third party programs that shall not be named to get a 15 person clan to join the server and unrealistically hunt you down. In the former case, it's like putting a player in the penalty box for fifteen minutes, but after one minute you have to give the puck back and he gets to start three feet in front of the net. In the latter case, I don't have a sports analogy.

That's like saying it isn't an unfair advantage to use a non-spec car in NASCAR because everyone can add things to their vehicles. It's cheating and, more importantly, it isn't in the spirit of the game. It's like playing Janga, except one player brings an extra set to the game to test out moves on before making a move on the actual tower. It's like playing with blindfolds, except you cut out eyeholes in your fold because "Everyone has the option" That's a bullshit argument.
