It would make sense that they took weight features from ArmA 3 (more weight = less stamina, which they didn't because you can sprint forever >.>), but I've never read anything about gear slowing your character down

Public servers are ones intended for everyone to join. Private servers are run by people (rather than by the DayZ staff), are sometimes passworded, and often have a "Private Hive" (where what you do on that server does NOT carry over to other servers; you cannot get an M4 on a private hive and then play on another server, because you will no longer have that M4; the M4 is only usable on the private hive) Hives are the databases that keep track of where you are, what you have, and what your status is (hungry, thirsty, health, etc). The Public Hive is the official, DayZ Staff-run hive across all public servers where your gear/character can cross over from server-to-server. "Sub hives" are small branches unto the main hive that will eventually become their own, seperate entities.

And I misread earlier thinking if you need to respawn (having died, on another server) respawning on this one would allow you to keep your stuff. I have no idea why I jumped to that conclusion. If you aren't going to say something useful on top of being an elitist a**hole, you have no business being one. That being said: It's an issue with the network bubble, from what I've heard, as far as player sounds (sodas opening, etc); chains opening is an ambience thing, and I don't know how to get rid of it, which annoys me; zombie noises are from glitched animals.

Random drops are normal in my experience. My card is nowhere near that good (calling that good should tell you just how bad mine is!); I'll occasionally hit a solid 8 before it jumps back up to its normal 15 in Chernogorsk and.... I think the town is near Skalisty. Whatever it is, the hospital and an apartment building trash my FPS.

Game balance wise, what's the point in having food/thirst requirements if one can of soda and one can of beans gets you through the day? It's fine as it is. I'd like some kind of "You're slightly hungry, you're hungry, you're very hungry, you're starving" sequential messages.
