    This is normal?

1: All ArmA titles have been notoriously awful regardless of your system. My Toshiba Sattelite in 1366x768 at all minimum gets the same performance as your GTX660 + 3.5GHz CPU in Elektro (though with some stuttering). Someone else with the same specs as your computer might get twice the performance or half for no reason 2: How is your performance in other titles? 3: Have you tried setting everything to high+? The one ArmA works, some graphic settings will tax your CPU and some will tax your GPU. "Low" terrain will use your CPU, while "High" terrain will use your GPU, meaning you will actually get higher performance at higher graphics settings. It's something you will need to play around with; look for one of the thousands of tweaking guides available for ArmA 3 and DayZ. This is the most in-depth guide I know of. I suggest you ignore the tip to disable CPU parking; the feature exists for a reason, and I wouldn't bother tampering with it. The performance gain isn't worth potentially shortening your CPU's lifespan (decreasing performance long-term). I'd also ignore setting DayZ to "High" in the task manager as this doesn't truly gain much in performance, and can potentially increase the chances of the game crashing (leaving your character defenseless for 30 seconds). Applications like "Razer's Game Booster" or "Iobit Game Booster" aren't valuable, either. Maybe six years ago disabling extraneous programs would free up your 256MB-1GB of RAM and help your game performance, but now with your 8GB system and CPU speed, it won't do you any favors. You may as well save the hard drive space.

What's up with the axes/melee weps?

You must not have looked very hard... ...also, yes. Melee is broken right now. Very, very broken.

    Roll and throw!

I don't know what military you served in, but the patented roll-and-throw won World War 2 and Korea, thank you very much.

    Walkie Talkie support

Radios have been in for a long time, but I didn't know they actually almost worked.

    What is this?

    A relative pronoun.
  8. I would as well. Devs, please?
  9. But you trade terrible kill delays for massive desync, broken zombies, and hackers. Oh wait, you still have those terrible kill delays.
  10. I think this is the first not completely terrible suggestion I've ever seen for reducing the amount of military gear. Granted, this is going to turn heli crash sights into all-out hatchet war zones (which is not a completely terrible thing), it is pretty smart. If the game became more about melee weapons (after melee is not completely shit >.> Rocket I'm looking at you) and civilian-grade low-calibre or bolt-action weapons, it would be a lot more interesting. As sad as it is to admit, military gear saturation makes the game boring.

DayZ is literally unplayable at the moment

Thank you for telling us what we already know. Thanks.

    zombies?

  13. Unrelated as in the two things that I discussed within my own post were supposed to be read in individuality, not in total. I'm not even talking about whatever the hell suggestions you've made.
  14. Unrelated as in I was addressing two different issues with the original post, now buried under misunderstandings.
  15. They are unrelated topics. I was commented that backpack access would be cool if your character actually accessed his backpack, and that I dislike the ability to easily load ammunition under the system currently in place.

    OHK'ed by zombie

Ballistic helmet, gas mask, "Healthy" tag in inventory. No one is safe from the zombie 1-hit.

    Waiting for character to create.

What about the server requires this extra-special launcher? I've never heard of it before. Is it a special variety of Epoch? If it isn't, you should trust the DayZCommander; 99% of everyone here seems to endorse it.
  18. I'm not talking about the SKS. As long as you have to open your inventory, look for your ammo, and put it in the weapon, that's great. I'm talking about the M4 or any of the pistols that can be reloaded via context menu.
  19. I'd like to see backpack usage more like Last of Us, where you crouch, unsling it, and rifle through it with your focus on the ground (but with some peripheral perception). But no, it should be more difficult to reload than it currently is.
  20. Immersion and difficulty. An inventory-only reload system promotes careful inventory management and forces players to think critically about where they want to put their most important items

People need to Do This Stuff More Often

I used to play on a private hive in the MOD with someone who went by the name of "Bigdickgranny," who to this day I still hate with an acute passion. He was obnoxious, used side chat too much (well, at all is too much but you know what I mean) and in general was a dick. He spent most of his time between Elektro and Cherno and did not respect boundaries; I very clearly defined (between all the dead bodies and razorwire fences) that the under-construction building at the edge of Chernogorsk was mine and I would shoot first ask questions later when it came to intruders. I often found him trying to take things from my two storage tents and eventually decided enough was enough. One day I came downstairs, cracked him with a fireaxe (knocking him unconscious) and, after bandaging his wounds and blood bagging him, I loaded him into my helicopter and flew into the debug forest. I hovered until he regained consciousness, told him to bail (he did) and flew home. As far as I know, his parachute landed in the debug forest and he never got out. It was a good day. Never saw him at my base again.
  23. 1. I would like to see reloading dry take an extra second or so to chamber a new round 2. I still advocate completely disabling the ability to reload via a keystroke or context menu
