1. I refused to believe it could be anything less than perfect 2. DayZ (mod) provided a certain "Permi-death" experience that (even with all the CheatSpeak hacker and crying baby-man admin problems) wasn't replicated in anything else. Crafting "Survival horror" titles (IE 7 Days to Die) have an initial learning curve that, as soon as it's passed, stops being difficult very quickly. DayZ has been a fairly consistent exprience. 3. There are few other games that cause quite the rage quitting DayZ does when you snipe a server-hopper and his little cheating friends.

DayZ Experimental players should have a subforum...please?
applejaxc replied to ShadowMedic's topic in General Discussion
*facepalm* You don't know what a subforum is, do you? -
...? Just look for a server or group who does this.

All of them.

When binoculars are implemented, will the zoom feature be disabled?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ME.....and every survivor

That text. Burns my eyes. :( And yes movement is terrible. But no, it will probably never be fixed; Operation Flashpoint, ArmA 2, OA, and ArmA 3 all suffer from god-awfully awkward character controls. I doubt DayZ will be different. -
Concretely: what differs the pro from the noob?

It is cheating. -
Concretely: what differs the pro from the noob?
applejaxc replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in New Player Discussion
Noobs fire indiscriminately or explicitly trust everyone they meet, with no middle ground. The pro follows the SLAT program when he sees another player: Stop: Crouch, go prone, whatever you can to hide while letting you keep a safe eye on the other player Look: What kind of backpack and weapons do they have? That should determine how dangerous they are. If they have a military chest rig, assume they are a bandit or otherwise skilled/lucky enough to be a threat. See if he has any friends with him. Attack: If the other player has more than a melee weapon and cannot be approached from behind + is well geared, assume the worst. If he has friends, assume he is using CheatSpeak and is a bandit. T-BAG: Because no acronym is complete without t-bagging. -
Whats the 1st thing I should do when I spawn for the 1st time?
applejaxc replied to parnell91's topic in New Player Discussion
Attack the first player you see. If you can knock him out and steal his gear, it'll save you some time. :) -
That's cool, I guess...

Firestations. Once you find one, you'll find them CONSTANTLY... but you won't be able to find a pistol.

later in the future, will there be actual PVE servers?

They're heroes, not assholes. -

Unfortunately, yes, but only for Private Servers, which are going to have abusive A-hole little kid admins given the nature of the person who cries for PvE-only. -
That's a fairly old GPU. Don't expect any miracles on anything lower than low settings (it was good in 2010; 4 years later with how much of a needy child ArmA titles are, it's not fantastic) CPU is fine, resolution is 16:9 so, comfortable. RAM is fine.

Do you have Intel HD 3000, 4000, or 4400? I play with HD3000 and get 10-20 FPS on bare-minimum graphics/lots of tweaking. I consider it playable, but most people don't. If you have a 4000, you can play on absolute minimum graphics... until more zombies get added in. HD4400 should run semi-fluently (like, sticking around 20 FPS, don't expect much more, probably closer to 15)

I already have a solution for them. And no, I do NOT want to purchase a desktop.

Did some say Chat Troll? I can do half of that, if you so wish. No. Chat Roll. I'm just bad at reading compound words :(

Have you been to the center of the map lately?
applejaxc replied to blissandpanic's topic in General Discussion
I don't know the name of it... there's one spawn that at first looks like shit, but it's become my favorite. Essentially you follow a road north-east-ish. There's almost immediately a water pump, so there goes your dehydration problems, and a house, +1 zombie. Be prepared to run for a long time to get away from it; the relatively flat terrain doesn't make for a tactical escape. Up the road is a cowpen, so say hello to all the clothes you need + a melee weapon or two Past that (or next to it? Haven't played in a month and a half) is a nice, large house that tends to spawn a decent amount of food. There goes your starvation problem. Keep going and you hit a small-medium town with a hospital. There goes your medical needs. Keep going, again, and you will find an "Under construction" building. Almost always a decent backpack + M4 ammo, sometimes even an M4A1! Aaaand still in the same direction, you can go to a near-abandoned airfield and get all the military loot you need, or head towards the coast and hit the giant barge on the beach. And then to Kaliznksyalskjdfklaksdjfklasjdlkfjfuckingrussiancitiesandtheirgoddamnednamespissmeoff and start shooting players. -
...that's disgusting. I do hope you aren't trying to make a pun out of shittiest and digest. And apologize for the knee-jerk response; I regurgitated my reply too quickly.

Buck naked? Just disable naked mode and BAM free pants. But yeah that's weird...
