"Ruined" clothes means that if the item provides any kind of armor (a bullet proof or stab-proof vest, ballistic helmet, et cetera), it no longer does-but you can still look cool and use all the pockets. Protip: Find a survivor with a lower-tier item, tell him "Hey I'll trade this for your jacket" (or something) and make the swap. You've got a functional jacket, he's got a ruined vest, and now you can stab-away for the rest of his gear.

They never did. I've gotten into a LOT of fist fights (including while I'm in black-and-white mode, which is most of the time I'm playing). Other than causing severe bleeding too often, without a proper headshot it's not a good way to knock someone out.

First of all, .408 isn't obscure. Second .50 Beowulf and 5.45 Genghis "wildcat" rounds should absolutely be rare; Alexander Arms is the only company I know of that sells that ammunition and weapons that use them. Third: Wildcat ammunition (when an individual takes ammunition and modifies it), while illegal, is a lot more popular than you think (it's how 10mm and .40 S&W got started!) and would make sense in countries like Chernarus, where you can't afford to just buy 1000 rounds of 7.62 whenever you want. Why not home made ammo? Fourth: I think the rarest of all weapons should be the Chinese QBZ and 5.8mm ammo.

It's not an issue of smelling bad; when you die, and your immune system shuts off, the billions upon billions of bacteria and microscopic organisms living on your skin right now start going to work decomposing your body. These tiny little bastards, finally gorging themselves on an entire human instead of just dead skin and sweat become, some would say, all-powerful and a serious threat to the still-living (not to mention maggots, flies, worms, and other creepy-crawlies that plant themselves in the fertile soil that is dead human!). Gibonez, I'm going to go a step further than Katana: While yes it is gaining popularity with civilians, it's already gained considerable popularity with domestic counter-terror teams (KSK, SWAT/HRT, et cetera) and police forces. British police sharp shooters use it. I don't see why it couldn't be in DayZ.

The SCAR-H and SCAR-L aren't "prototype" weapons; they're just used by the US special forces (it does stand for Special Forces Combat Assault Rifle Heavy after all...) and should be extremely rare. I THINK ACR stands for Advanced Combat Rifle (Google seems to agree with me) and isn't yet common. I don't know if the DE stands for Desert Eagle (which should be included but never chosen by a half-competent player) or something else in your use. the Five-Seven is not prototype, shit, or rare; there's a reason Mexican cartels are starting to use them. The 5.7mm is amazingly good at penetrating body armor and has ballistic performance on-par with assault rifles (which is why the zero-recoil giant-magazine P90 is fucking scary). In fact, if the 57's high-capacity magazine and likelihood of restriction weren't problems (since I can only get a civilian-level firearms license) I'd trust my life with one (...but I'll have to stick to 10mm with the USA being in the situation it is). Probably the only reason it hasn't been copy-catted by Russia and China is because the Russians have 9x21 (which performs like .357 and can shoot through body armor and cars) and the Chinese have 7.62x17 (which isn't fantastic but good enough). The US secret service has adopted it in-gusto, and of the 40 some-ought countries that have adopted it, I'm sure plenty of NATO workers sent into Chernarus following reports of cannibalism and mass hysteria in the however-many-years-in-the-future DayZ brought plenty for the FN57 to be a valid addition to the game.

Also: We need 10 gauge, 20 gauge, 12 gauge shotguns. As an American, I'm not familiar with not-gauge shells. I think .416 (I'm probably horribly off and that's way too super big for what I'm thinking of) is used in the M16 Scout rifle (every google search is coming up with video games >.>) which is an over-under. The top fires .22 and the bottom fires bird-shells (it's designed for survival, not fighting). We need ultra-rare Dragonbreath rounds, nonlethal rounds (beanbags and those water-capsule bullets, which hurt like hell and CAN kill at close range, designed for destroying explosives without setting them off), flares, slugs, flechettes... et cetera. Sniper rifles need to come in 5.56, .308, 7.62, .338. There's a breach-action sniper rifle from Finland or Sweden that fires 40mm mortar shells... We need a 5.56 LMG, a 7.62 LMG. 9mm, 5.7mm, 10mm sub-machine guns are a must. There's a crazy Russian shotgun that fires the equivalent of 4 gauge that's considered dangerous to operate. The company sells a sawn-off no-stock version only the Spetznas carry that can break your wrist in a single fire. Both should be included to see just how desperate people can get in a battle with the undead or not-so-friendly friendlies. The Dog-1 revolver is also a must. Russian revolvers firing 32gague modified shells cannot be excluded. As long as cowboy hats are mistakenly included, why no the Taurus .454 Raging Bull revolver as well? The Viking, Grach 443, and all of Izmash's other pistols should be included. the Drotik 5.45m burst-fire pistol, the OTS22 9mm machine pistol, and the 9mm burst fire pistol (its name escapes me at the moment) AND! There needs to be 7.62x31 AND 7.62x51 to further confuse people who think all 7.62 is the same.

What do you mean "worried" ?? Ammo diversification is FANTASTIC! It means that instead of a blanket "Ammo is too easy to find" or "Ammo is too hard to find," there can be a balance of low-caliber weapons being easy to stock (9mm Makarov, 9mm parabellum) but serious weapons (rifle caliber-up) is difficult to stock. That is fantastic for game balance. It's also fantastic for the penalization of bad decision making. "Well, do I grab this M4A1 now and hope to find some 5.56 later, or take this Mosin and box of 7.62?" It also adds the difficulty for non firearm aficionados (AKA most of the players) having to remember "Okay THIS pistol is 9mm, THIS pistol is 9x21, and THIS one is 9mm Makarov, THIS one is .25 ACP, THIS one is .45, THIS one is 5.7, THIS one is .40 SW, and THIS one is 10mm" That adds skill-gap to the game, and all successful games have a rewarding skill gap. Not, "The AK shoots AK bullets the M4 shoots M4 bullets" as you want. Furthermore, ammo diversification-aside from variety realism-allow for type diversification, which is also fantastic. You have normal, tracer, hollowpoint, armor-piercing for rifles, normal/HP/AP for pistols, and (if for whatever reason launchers are added) you have to make the tough choice "Do I take this HEDP rocket because I can use it against infantry and vehicles, do I take this *penetrator because I know there's some bandits on this hive rolling in an armored SUV, or do I take this thermobaric rocket to maximize zombie kills?"

OMG you're a god among men. I'm always complaining about how no one ever gives any damned answers around here but you... you just sweeped the floor. :) Do you have any idea what I can expect FPS-wise at max and at medium settings? Or is that asking too much? I'm buying from XoticPC with copper heat sinks and I'll have it on a cooling fan most of the time so over heating probably won't be a problem.

OP doesn't have a valid point; when your "squaddie" is dead, HE IS DEAD! It's unfair bullshit that you can, using your CheatSpeak, have your friend die, respawn, loot up another M4 and rejoin the fight. And in that spirit, you shouldn't be able to go "Zap" and revive/wake-up a dead/unconscious player. Epi-pens are fine how they are. You'll probably be able to use blood bags and defibrillators in future updates to bring the dead back anyway.

I understand your frustrations. The best thing you can do is save your money, wait for private hives, and start your own server then. If you do host a private hive, PM me; I'll add to the player count of a like-minded host. :)
