So there's this server... I'm not going to give the details, or what pseudonym I use on it, on risk of losing the nice little system I've got going on. But there's this server, right? And I'm a "Hero" on it... more or less. I do help people, I really do. And I'm proud of what I do. But obviously being a hero isn't why I'm posting in the Bandit forums. I started out pretty nice on the server, bloodbagging and bandaging and epipenning and et cetera et cetera, right? All nice and helpful or whatever. I even gave a helicopter and a bicycle away to needy players. I wind up with the kick-ass bullet proof vest + button up (that I love so damned much) and head north, almost directly from Chernogorsk. I get past (Kozlovka I think) and come across this mixed-candy group of bandits and survivors, pretty well armed. Feeling like the cocky sonfabitch I am, I took my AKM and got more-or-less behind the majority of the players. "Drop your weapons and there won't be any shooting." I shit you not: "He's a hero, it's cool. Drop your guns guys." They start putting their weapons down, other than 3 or 4 guys that are keeping zombies at bay. So I introduce myself as (pseudonym deleted) and everything is very polite, hunky-dorey whatever lovey dovey. I was... shocked at how much respect and trust my skin had garnered. I made a group of 20 players reduce themselves to being armed in only a fourth of that number! Obviously the massive slaughter that followed was very one-sided; the anti-zombites stood close enough together that they weren't hard to drop. Do to the slightly awkward nature of picking up weapons from the ground, other players were similarly easy to dispatch. So I go on my merry way, having gone from AKM to full kit in a few minutes. That's about 1/2 interactions I have on that server now; "Don't worry, I'm a hero." *BLAT BLAT BLAT* It's a lot of fun. Well... for me I guess. The whole screen was blue for about an hour from the group screaming, threatening, cursing, and et-cetera. They kill heroes on sight now. I'm constantly on the the lookout for UAZs, URALs, and other large vehicles... they'll get revenge some day.

So I was playing for about 30 minutes on my server (Applejaxc 71.53.228.93 port 2032) trying to get gear. After logging out and back in, my L337 Enfield had been deleted, along with its ammo. (sad face) So I go into one of the two-story "Restaurant" buildings in Chernogorsk (are they restaurants?) because I know L337s and Winchesters often spawn up there. Some pissant zombies had follow me in, and got stuck in the dugout under the staircase. The only loot I found was food (yay!) and empty cans (boo!). I started going back to the stairs when suddenly every surface of the building became cracked, in the 1st stage of "Damage." I'd never seen a building so damaged in DayZ unless a Helicopter hit it or a car rammed it and exploded. Confused and scared, I bolted down the stairs (almost snapping my legs) and outside. It turns out that when 10 zombies are trapped in one spot and keep attacking the stairs instead of you, it does damage to the building. A horde of zombies literally collapsed a building on themselves. Is that... normal? I also found a M16 M203 in one of the medical tents. :)

Sounds like super noob ville. "Are you bad at finding guns? WELL FEAR NO MORE! WE HAVE MILITARY LOOT EVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERYWHERE!"

In that same building, I threw a smoke grenade into the window upstairs. It fell "Through" the window, into the wall. Smoke came out of the wall that had swallowed the grenade. :)

This reminds me of this one time... There were these 5 players all around a campfire, cooking or whatever, way out in the west of the map, above the NWAF, talking about whatever. One of them had a strong-ish accent (I'd say north Georgia or east Alabama), and he seemed to be in some kind of leaderly position. So I hit the "Talk" button and impersonate his voice. "Alright everyone, put yer guns down'r'll shoot'ye dead!" That's all it took for utter chaos to break out, in which 6 players scrambled to kill each other. :)

Those Canadians are evil. Always saying "Boot" instead of "Boat" and whatnot. It's not natural... XD

First of all, *than. Second, avoid clan servers. Third, PVP is part of survival. >.>

Your response suggested you had misinterpreted my post as suggesting something I had not; I felt as if you were attempting to put words in my mouth. I apologize for the confusion.

I get a lot more of these requests than I probably deserve. I recently committed suicide on the public servers (I took all my gear onto the fire station roof, logged out until night, and when I came back threw flares all over Elektro. When I ran out of FAL, M249, and M1911 ammunition I threw myself off the building and let the zombies eat me) I don't want to use TeamSpeak or Skype or Steam Chat anymore than necessary... IE, just enough to choose a server to join together, and we can meet someone in the nearest city. :) PS: Are you a US East Coast player? European? West coast?

And that's the shit-out-of-luck circumstances of playing an online game. Stop playing or stop working.

You missed the point entirely... My argument was against there being a hero/bandit system at all. I said nothing about hero-ghillies and bandit-ghillies. >.>

HOLD ON. Did you just say 4/10 = 9/10? Does your country make you take mathematics courses of any kind?

People tell me it's a serious problem. They just aren't good enough, like me to... dammit, still doing it.
