Welcome to the game. Don't die. If you add bitsby_ as a friend on steam, I can keep a server running for you. Even when it's empty, there will be AI enemies to fight (which are not easy to kill) Just search "Applejaxc" under hostname under filter in the giant list of DayZ servers. Oh, and NEVER EVER download ANYTHING for ArmA/DayZ that isn't from the Bohemia Interactive website or the DayZ website; ugly jerkfaces will steal your copy of the game and give you a banned copy in return.

Hello. So there's been several requests to add AI NPCs to my server, and I'm not 100% opposed to the idea seeing as it will potentially make loot runs a LOT more dangerous and exciting than normal. If adding AI will force me to restart the server (taking away everyone's gear and returning everyone to square 1) then please say so, in which case I won't be interested. But if there's a simple addon or way to have a .init file in my MPMISSIONS file, that would be fantastic. I've been googling for about an hour now and can only find partial help and scraps of information regarding the AI addition to private servers.

It's that time of the day again: MADNESS time. The time where part of the map is designated for a special event. To skip the charades of the last two event's lack-of-details: 3 cars are going to be driven around Stary Sobor, on the road between Stary and Chernogorsk. 1 car has a MP5SD. 1 car has a shotgun, ammo, and NVGs. 1 car has a ghillie suit and SVD camo + SVD mags. All 3 cars are going to be away from each other, so one massive ambush does not catch them all. The drivers do not want to be shot, so please don't shoot them; the vehicles and gear inside are free for your taking, if you are nice to the drivers. If you are not, and you shoot at them before/while they pull over, the driver will jump out and leave you dead. Get searching before they run out of fuel. Event running for 3 hours; that's plenty of time to grab a L337 Enfield and go hunting! Host name: Applejaxc

Public died when everyone became a raging pussy and couldn't play the game without 20+ helicopters and free weapon load outs, or tit-for-tat "I sub u utube 4 As50!" bullshit. I play lone-wolf so I feel less bad about shooting players. I occasionally befriend random players if it is convenient (IE, I need a blood transfusion) and let them live if I like them and want them to frequent my server. (If it's some qwikscoping fagattack pr0 I have no interest in keeping them happy) I'm HELLA excited for the SA, EXCEPT for running in-door infected and underground structures.

I'll tell you what: Vanilla gameplay. I'm running straight DayZ Chernarus. No +100 helicopter bullcrap. East-coast focus. I can almost guarantee someone being in Chernogorsk or Elektrozavodsk at all times; my base is being built in Cherno, and I hate spending time anywhere outside the cities. Swift, immediate banhammer attacks against anyone proven of cheating. No admin abuse; I am too lazy and too bad at the admin controls to teleport or spawn in gear. In fact, the only things I can do at this point are #login, #kick, and #ban. A challenge. You don't spawn with a free M9SD, as some wussy servers would let you do. You aren't going to be babied, and no-one is going to restore your gear if you die. You are going to play the game it's meant to be play: As a surreal, zombie-apocalypse survival experience. The only time side-chat will be used will be by admins (moi) for important, cross-game messages. IE, I will give warnings before server restarts or before server closing. Nearly 24/7 runtime. I cannot guarantee the internet won't go out, or that I won't have to use the hosting PC for something more important, like school or work. I will not, however, turn the server off (for the night) while people are playing without an emergency-level reason (like my house is burning down). Friendliness. Unless I'm dying of starvation, I'm probably not going to shoot at you. ;) A growing player base. Right now the server has 3 people; I'd expect that to increase soon. Sorry for two adverts in two days; the server I advertised last night was taken down and reset (wiping all my gear) do to the failure of my ability to meet certain expectations. This is not technically the same server as was advertised last night. The server's native IP is (not your business because only the Hostname is required). Regardless of the IP, the hostname is (obviously) Applejaxc. There's no password or whitelist, and there's certainly no crying in side chat because Mr. Bandit shot you.

Sorry, you're right. I was thinking of the Arisaka. Regardless, WW2 and before Russian weapons were not made for accuracy. I'd still take the Enfield over it.
