  2. 1, 2, 3, 4: I wasn't being an asshole. I was getting revenge, and very perilously perched, pinned down by an AKM and DMR from an enemy with more mobility and invincibility from zombies. Excuse moi if I find it reasonable to ramble to myself to stay focused. 5: It wasn't implied; it was prevented from slipping. Also: You spelled blatant and obviously incorrectly.

    Yes. You cannot modify anything and join a server without it accepting .bikey files, which you won't get for personal, custom content.
  9. That's... better I guess. Taco found a UH1 and a ATV in like 30 minutes of playing on my server, near Chernogorsk. I wrecked the chopper with a AS50 and killed him before he could get his quad.

    I don't play Origins (I don't see the point in it over normal DayZ), but if that isn't a dealbreaker, add bitsby_ on steam or Pm me. :) I've got a private server with AI bandits.
  11. Hello and welcome, to the Applejaxc private hive server! We boast friendly community members and extremely low ping to West European and East USA/Canadian players. Add bitsby_ on Steam. If he's online, you can be the server is online. AI control the air fields, Salisty, Elektro, and Balota. They also roam the countryside, radiating out of Devil's Castle, waiting for unwary players. They are not easy opponents, but the rewards are worth the risk. Hostname: Applejaxc The server's password is Passw_rd1 (which keeps random non-DZF players from joining) I hereby officially relinquish the ability to gripe and/or "Blam" private hive advertisements specifying the existence of non-vanilla gameplay mechanics, features, options, et al (except in the case of, and not limited to the case of, extravehicular spawns, decreased difficulty, and/or daylight-only game modes).

    Better Fortifications

    Right now, I can't place barbed wire to save my life... literally. I'll put it down and just trap myself in with zombies instead of keeping the bastards out. It's terrible. I have a few suggestions: Ghost-frame display. When you context-menu/inventory-choose to build a fortification, a transparent bluish-green should be shown in front of you, that moves as you move instead of instant placement of the fortification. You then (scroll-wheel) choose "Confirm" to place the item, at which point you finally crouch down and start building. This will make fortifying doorways and roads so much easier. No longer will I place something sideways that can't even stop a truck from getting by. Trenches! Why should I just have to use physical items? A E-Tool made trench could break legs, OR be used as a fox-hole to defend yourself. Climbing out would be as simple as hitting V (or whatever you are set to). Spillable gasoline that can be lit by a flare or match. BURN IT DOWN! Landmines, the absolutely rarest spawn of all. Detectable without too much effort, really only a danger to the unobservant driver or player running from a gunfight. Anti-vehicular (does not detonate without a certain amount of weight) and anti-personnel, each more-or-less effective against the intended target. Laying prone to crawl past an anti-personnel mine will save your life. Toolbox to disable, E-Tool to plant. Smaller explosion radius than ArmA 3's landmines. Spikes Caltrops: Causes light bleeding damage to the feet, slows zombies/players down. Crawling over caltrops causes considerably more bleeding. No direct damage; only bleeding is induced (it doesn't directly take blood away) Spikes: Pops tires, causes medium bleeding and deals direct damage. Easy to see/avoid. Mostly a warning and inconvenience Tank Traps (I don't know what they're actually called): Much like cactus, these x-shaped spikes stand at half the height of a man. Walking into one induces bleeding. Ramming one with a vehicle deals considerable damage. Zombies attempting to force their way into your base between them can gut/kill themselves. Each type can cause tetanus (or whatever Rocket wants in the game) I've got other ideas, but I figure this is enough to digest for now.

    On the main screen, click these buttons: Options Controls (At the top) Controls: Infantry Make sure "Navigate up" and "Navigate down" are set to be controlled by your scroll wheel (referred to as W3 or MMB)

    This is why you should join my server; no bullsh!t admins banning or deleting your gear because they can't handle dying in a video game. Foreword note: There are groups of 4+ bandit AI roaming every major city (medium sized or larger name on the map), 50% of the time with military gear. The AI is set to veteran difficulty, however, so if you spawn near a large city, you might as well just break your legs and respawn somewhere else.

    I know this has been suggested before. But as is my way, I feel the need to suggest it in more depth than has been previously done: Players die all the time in DayZ. Constantly. What's the average life expectancy? 1 hour, 9 minutes? Yeah. And think about how many of those bodies go unlooted... Here is my suggestion: If a player dies, his body has 30-60 minutes before he rises again as a zombie (NOT controlled by the player). The zombie has all the traits of the players worn gear (helmet, vest, et cetera), and negative traits (like stiff joints from tetanus, or crawling because the player died with broken legs) persist. Whatever primary weapon was equipped, the backpack, and the tool belt all fall off, either at the time of becoming a zombie (the zombie isn't going to pick up an assault rifle) or as it crawls/shuffles around (a zombie isn't going to fight to keep a back pack on). Pros: 1. Players will have much harder times looting their own bodies (you have to track it down and kill it!) 2. Very interesting zombie hordes Cons: 1. Server has to keep track of a zombie potentially filled with containers (jackets, pants, backpack, et cetera) 2. Server has to calculate and make the zombie "Drop" the items without an animation (zombies don't gently place items on the ground)
