well, a while back before private servers were a thing (like .46 update), some guys found out how to host a pirated server and run dayz in .46. This served as a testing lab for hacks back when it was still applicable. However, some OTHER dudes managed to figure out how to mod the game serverside, so they decided to make a PvP home-server with custom loadouts. There are some videos of this with people duking it out on the coast with PM73 RAK's and Mosins with custom loadouts, I'll see if I can find one. Since they could do it all the way back in .46, it could definitely be done now. It's all about getting official support at this point. Anyways, I edited the main post. If you would like to play next weekend, Saturday afternoon at 12:00 Eastern, list your name, and what your "entry fee" (supplies donation) will be. It can be anything on the item list above, but bring extra copies of whatever you can find to help those who can't find anything. Also, if the time doesn't work for you, please list whatever time would work best. We will be playing the first matches at Sverengrino castle hall, look at the link in my top post for it's location on the map (or you can find it on the DayZ wiki).

Please don't be that guy.

I won't be available until next weekend to formally play, but will spend said hours on Thursday to gather gear. You are all welcome to add me on steam, I will probably start a steam group if this gets big enough. Steam Name is david3752457, should be a picture of Tails from StH.
-
Sure, maybe one of the weekends then. They don't work as well for me because I move to a house with less-stellar internet, but it's still doable. I would probably avoid playing and just be a ref in that case
-
Also, to help gain sponsorship (and possibly provide medical supplies), I might invite either the Reddit Rescue Rangers or the TMW group, since I have had relationships with the groups in the past (Especially Burnaya River Trading Company, when they used to be a subdivision of RRR). They might be able to help us get stuff faster than just a small group of scavengers, and may actually want to play.

Probably one too many Anyways, since it seemed to gain some sort of popularity pretty quickly, I'm going to start gathering Trombones since they break down and fit easily in a bag, so I can probably cram like 4-6 in a mountain backpack. I'll also see if I can get a tent to store it all in, although that is going to be less promising given how infrequently Large Military tents spawn. If anyone is interested in giving this a go, I am available for a few hours on Thursday from about 1:00 to 4:00 (EST), give or take an hour depending on my schedule. If some of you guys want to meet up at Sverengrino castle for quick 2v2's or 3v3's we can meet there. Also, we could do this on experimental to save your normal-hive characters, or do it on a private hive if we can find a stable, low-pop one.

Shame, I was really hyped they would finally put that in. Also, there is a huge hole in the ground north of it that I think they have yet to fill with water to make a lake. Very pretty place. I want to see if I can scavenge up enough ammo, some farming tools, and supplies to make it up to the plains north of there to do some target practice.
-
So are you saying they finally put a proper base in HERE now?:

It's probably been mentioned so far (but I haven't seen it personally said yet), but zombies are OP. You come into contact with one and they are REALLY hard to kill, requiring many (5+) hits from a hatchet to kill. At the same time, because their attacks are bugged at the moment, they can do absurd amounts of damage in a short time, quickly fading your colors to near deathly conditions in 10 seconds of combat (around). A firearm is a must have to engage zombies at the moment, unless you REALLY want to die. Also, I had an event of shoe and pants ruining from just running through a field (But no leg break), indicating that there might either be some desync problems when running down hills, causing people to levitate in air serverside when desynced, then dropping to the ground when connection is restored. That, or the opposite problem (falling through the map) could cause it too. However, I noticed no desync when it happened, so I have yet to confirm EDIT: I also just got instakilled when getting out of a truck, I think the fall killed me when my character got out as I noticed when I got in, it had my character a ways up in the air (waist level with the roof of the cab)

I am very close to finding a RAK, I have several magazines for it and will find one soon. They spawn at the BMP wrecks seen around military bases. What place on the map has the highest concentration of these wrecks? I know for a fact there are at least 2 at Vybor, at least 1 at Zeleno, and a few (I forget how many) at the Tent Cities. could someone confirm highest concentration? -

Sorry, thank you for the pointer. That being said, A lot of loot seems to be well balanced at military places. No excess at Vybor like so many servers used to have. I found a helicopter crash, and the loot piles were a solid 7-10 meters west of it for some reason, as if the server spawned the loot piles and physical crash at seperate locations. Found a plate carrier at a base, does anyone have armor statistics? (it's Worn) -

Also, I am getting a lot of weird stuff spawning in weird places. Found a P1, a CZ-75, and a pistol suppressor all in the same town in civvie houses. wat? -

I don't know if this was in the patch notes, but I just found an MP5 OEM Buttstock in a police station. When was this added back in? -

Where do we report bugs for experimental? I think feedback.dayzgame.com is for the stable release only. I've found that with the stone knife, it fails to go into the correct suicide animation and just does the finger gun every time, making it impossible to suicide with it. -
The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
David375 replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
Fair enough. I guess I was looking at the wrong model when I was on their website, they only listed two seperate calibers per gun. Still, would be cool to have multi-caliber guns. the Taurus Judge would be epic with .45 Colt and .410 shotshell. -

I still want to see some multi-caliber gun, such as the M6 Aircrew gun (used as a foraging gun in case of plane crash): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M6_Aircrew_Survival_Weapon This is originally what the Blaze 95 was meant to be, and you can see by looking at the model that the lower barrel is much smaller than the upper barrel. This is because, in real life, the B95 was meant to be two different calibers, either a large rifle caliber or large shotshell for the upper barrel (12Ga, 7.62x51, .338 Lapua Magnum, etc), and a small rifle or shotshell for the lower barrel (.22lr, .410 shotshell, handgun cartridges). This would give diversity of gameplay and create a potentially unique all-around gun that can perform at all ranges without getting super-militarized with 40mm Buckshot grenades or M26 MASS/ KAC Masterkey attatchments. I really enjoy where this thread is going, lots of cool guns are mentioned here that I would have tons of fun playing with (Still have yet to get over to experimental to go find me a PM73 RAK) -

I saw a post saying the PM73 RAK now spawns at BMP wrecks? Please dear god tell me this is true, I have been waiting for too long to get this weapon -
So I felt bored as shit high-popping Vybor and NWAF, too lazy to run to the coast, and too bloated with gear from hyperlooted servers, so I decided to hit the road on DayZ, with the new V3S. Before a few days ago (when I started this), I had never been north of Bashnya (Excluding Svetlo spawns, proceeding to run south immediately at light speed to the Twilight Berizone), and I felt I was depriving myself of something fantastic. Mostly because of this map, that came out a while ago (somewhere around the .47-.48 update ~ish. You can see where the original artist overlaid Arma 2 maps with current [as of .47-.48] maps and new maps based on coloration): This map gave me some great ideas for places to go examine, so I decided to start a photo documentary. Because my internet hates this forum and refuses to upload other photos properly, here it is on Imgur: http://imgur.com/a/iwGO3 Please feel free to share input as to where I should go next! If you want to help me on my journey for you PvP non/traveling type, help me find jerry cans and V3S'es, as server restarts frequently leave me stranded and without fuel due to no vehicle persistence and hand-held items evaporating by V3S. Also, if you find any cool photos you want to upload, please share! its great to add to the collection! Also, who's hyped for trains?!?! I don't know why and can't begin to speculate why the [new] train tracks are highlighted blue, but its gotta be good. Also, new military base?

Yeah, definitely! what seems like the foundations of the new Tisy base is pretty cool, one of the big foundations could definitely fit the prison building. Also, I found a model of the V3S Command vehicle! It looks amazing, and actually spawns loot! (found some medical stuff in it, you can get up in it). Have yet to see the new castle, but definitely want to get to the NW plains again, that was awesome!

So I had a genius idea when watching a video of GoldenGloveTV's, where he was alerted to Allie's group at NWAF all the way across the airfield by gunfire. Then I thought of a previous video I had watched of a guy testing how long it would take to cook off a round of .50BMG in a microwave, and it hit me: Why couldn't we use current cooking utensils plus the item heat mechanic to cook off ammunition as a noisemaker/distraction? Say, for example, you build a fireplace (or a cooking pot/gas stove setup) and throw 20 some spare AKM or .22LR rounds in (which seem super common now), Then, after the ammo pile reaches a certain heat level (like that of cooking meat), it consumes one round to "fire" the round, making a gunshot noise*, which could be used to distract zombies in a city. After they are fully heated, they launch off at an interval, say, every 30-90 seconds. A couple of these with different ammo types could simulate a gunfight and draw in other players. Even more realistic, the fireplace actually launches a round in a random direction to represent the bullet firing, giving a "frag-grenade-esque" danger that you don't want to be near when one goes off. Multiple stacks of ammo would increase the frequency of fired rounds, and larger ammo stacks increase the duration of the effect (50 rounds of 22LR vs 20 rounds AKM, takes a lot more time for the 22LR) Finally, if bullets were actually fired from the fireplace, they would have highly reduced damage (because there is no barrel to contain the gases and increase the speed of the bullet, so they go much slower and thus don't hit as hard, although larger calibers should still seriously hurt stuff) Now, onto the other idea. The gas canisters IRL always talk about "do not puncture, do not expose to flames", so what about making a craftable IED made from a Walkie-Talkie, a Gas Canister, a screwdriver, a pair of pliers and a battery? You could use a walkie-talkie on your end to detonate it by typing or talking into it, and would provide utility to screwdrivers and pliers besides being a cheap can opener. Or, as with the heating mechanic for ammunition as mentioned above, putting a canister in a campfire or cooking pot (probably small only for the cooking pot) could set it off after the heating time. This would be good because it gives you time to get the hell outta Dodge before it blows, and could be used to bring down a building with people in it (Somebody camping in a prison building or barracks? bring it down on his ass). One last thing, perhaps proper noisemakers like small fireworks could be used as a more portable, more proper noisemaker that could be lit with matches and thrown, although I am not sure how it would sound in game. Maybe some light effects as well for night-time fun?

OK, to respond to this post in order: 1: Chemistry stuff: All that shit I loved from last year's class 'cuz my teacher was very bright, but he kept the room very stuffy and I often became too drowsy to speak, much less write things down. Wish I could have gotten more out of the class, but oh well, Physics takes too much time ATM. Shoulda picked his brain, being a Harvey Mudd graduate and all. Cool dude. 2: The L4D thing was a joke, I hope you recognize that. Thanks for the cool lengthy response though. 3: Grenades + tripwires: This would be fantastic, and could make for interesting uses of the flashbang and frag grenade. Gunpowder wouldn't be bad either, especially if they added other kinds of explosives of the sort. I would still like to see some sort of demolition charge for building destruction like C4, but I have a feeling that would be too rare to be effective, so something homemade like dirty bombs. 4: Diving + Oxygen tank: Yes, Helium is added to the tank to replace the Nitrogen in your blood, because when a diver ascends too fast it causes the nitrogen to bubble up, which causes the stated effect (I believe). Don't quote me on that, but I am 100% sure it has to do with the nitrogen in the bloodstream. Finally, on the topic of grenades, a homemade Molotov Cocktail would be great. It's clear that gas station still have gasoline in them (because they can be blown up), so how about using garbage bottles, a rag, and a match to create a molotov? Or perhaps using Rasputin Kvass, as I've heard beer burns relatively well (not as good as hard alcohol as demonstrated by burning shots, but still). Even further on that, perhaps the Alcohol Tincture could work as well? All alcohols or fuels should be able to be put in a bottle and thrown (despite there not being a proper glass bottle in the game yet, it was in the Mod and shouldn't be too hard to add). Also, speaking of "out of the ball park", they should add Spiked baseball bats soon. That would be dope.

I know this is old, but if you ever come across a PM73 RAK w/ mags and preferably ammo, let me know and I'll snatch it up for almost any cost (except tents, which I still haven't seen any anywhere in game)
