Hi my name is Wallace. I've been playing for a little over a week, and I have a pretty good feel for the game. I'm lloking for an active, I repeat active, clan to play with. The games fun solo, but I want a group. I'm 21 years old, I play tactically, I'm looking for other mature players who play the same way. I live in Kentucky and my Time zone is Gmt-5. It is 9:01 P.M. at the time of this post. I would like to play on Main Hive servers, US#### and so, but I will play on a Private Hive if it is the same as the regular map, with little variation to default spawns and such. The Hive would also have to be stable, have a good amount of players that frequent it, and have good anti-hack security and good active admins. I'm looking for people I can get on TS with and play this game to its fullest. If you think I would be a good addition to your group, and you meet the above specifications, please send me a PM or reply in this thread, and maybe we can start playing together. Thanks for your time reading this, and have a good day.

Hey everyone, only 20 days til DoomsDay! But just in case that doesn't happpen, my question is will the controls be the same in Standalone? Maybe controls isn't the right word, what I mean is the Player Characters abilities, the way you can lean out from cover, holding right click for zoom, things like that. I read on the Dev Blog that controls are changing and so is the engine. I really like how the game feels, I love the Arma 2 Control Scheme, the combat, and the way my character behaves. I love the realism, the simulation feeling of the controls. When they say the engine is changing, do they mean they are abandoning the way these things are now completely?

Craziest/Most Exciting/Luckiest/Scariest Day in DayZ yet!!!
Wallace (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Holy Shit. This topic is just me recounting what happened to me in Dayz today, so If that doesn't interest you, don't waste your time. First off let me say I'm an average player, I'm no pro, before today I had only been in one vehicle, which had no gas, and only seen 2. I've never had good gear, I've never killed another player, I've never found a crash site, and I've never lived too long unless I just stayed in the woods. But today, today was different. I logged in today and headed straight for the NWAF. I was equipped with an AKM with 13 shots, an Alice pack full of food and drink, 2 smoke grenades, and a frag grenade. I got to NWAF and BAM, there it was my first crash site. My heart immediately started racing, and I had to catch myself because before I knew it I was running straight across to it. I corrected my approach took the tree line. I then crawled until I was about 50m away and got my smokes ready. I approached full run and got the zomboles attention, threw both smokes, and proceeded to check out the site. Unfortunately there was only an FN-FAL with one mag, and with ammo for it being so rare I left it. Bummer but still exciting for me as it's the first site I've seen. There was nothing worth mentioning at the rest of the AF. I decided to head to the far deer stand, and lo and behold, a Tractor. Score. I hopped in, and it actually worked. I was pumped. I checked the gear to find 1 empty whiskey bottle and a pair of binoculars (What the hell were you doing Farmer?). I decided i'd head to Gorka and try and find a jerry can to fill it up, as it was almost out of gas. Well I ran out of gas before I could make it to Gorka, so I hopped out and looked around, and holy fuckin shit theres a Red UAZ stashed in a small wooded area. Double Score. I checked the gear on it and hit the Motherlode! M4A1 CCO, M9 SD, and plenty of ammo for both, and tents. Plus 2 full Jerry Cans making this a Vehicle I can sustain. I kept heading to Gorka so I could refill my Jerry Cans, and I find a freakin Bus in Gorka. Thought that was a lil obvious though so I left it. I then picked a Cozy little spot to set up my very first base. Afterwards, I decided I'd check the other airfield, thinking that all I really wanted right now, considering I had just gone from never having had good equipment to all of a sudden having the best, was a coyote backpack. I approached from the southern side of the Control tower, and as I got towards the top of the hill, where I could see the top of the tower, I heard a HELICOPTER. HOLY SHIT. Next thing I know I hear the loudest gunshots I've ever heard in the game, had to be a .50 cal. I quickly hid behind a tree that was positioned in between the tower and the hangars, letting me see the back of the hangars and one entrance to the tower. I looked at the runway and there were TWO Helicopters, and two survivors running around. One was attracting zombies while the other one looted. The one looting had a coyote back pack on. Game time. By this point my heart was pumping, I didn't know if the other players knew I was there. The one with the .50 ran back to his helicopter and hovered about 100 feet of the ground, right above the airstrip. As the other one tried to get in his heli, I leaned out and let loose about 12-15 rounds. Like I said, I was excited, adrenaline and all that. The screen said RatReverse was killed. I had gotten my first ever kill in DayZ. WOOHOO! I ran to his body, took his pack, didnt even bother checking his heli or gear, and then ran as fast as my character would back to the woods. I headed back to base, and then logged because I had to share the msot awesome dayz experience I've ever had. Thanks for reading my wall, have a good one! -
Hey i can't remember if it was Relyet or Reylet but you really saved my ass today in the cherno fire station on 303. I really appreciate it. That instance after you healed me and we cleared that firehouse together was my first group play in the game, and I had a blast. I don't know why you couldn't read what I was typing, but I was trying to ask you if you wanted a camo clothing, although Im not sure it would work on a female character. Also there was a body right by us that had some nice loot on it, but i couldn't communicate for some reason and was unale to let you know. But thanks again i really appreciate it.

So has the Debug Monitor been completely disabled since 1.7.3? I can't seem to enable it anymore.
-
This, just give us all our stats when we die. This is a great idea.
-
It would be nice to be able to ziptie a player, rob them, and be gone before the timer runs out.

2 Problems: Brightness/Gamma & Combat/Abort
Wallace (DayZ) replied to scouski's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well, this probably isn't the issue considering you sound like a smart enough guy, but it's all I can think of assuming you're 100% sure you've got it installed correctly. Maybe the server you've chosen hasn't updated to 1.7.3? I know quite a few haven't, including a couple on my favorites list. But good luck man. -
Hi I'm stuck unconscious after apparently logging while in shock, which I don't know how I had been in shock becasuse it was a fresh spawn, I layed down on the coast and switched servers because it was night time on that one. But now when I log in, I'm stuck unconscious permanently, and I spawn in Wilderness, which is a big open ass field, Im guessing these debug plains I've heard about. I've tried hitting repawn while its loading, and it says "Wallace was killed" at the bottom, I can do it three of four times. The scorecard comes up and says please wait 5 secs before playing, and then i spawn again, in the debug plains, knocked out, with no keys working. The only thing i can do is Alt-F4. Please Help.

Stuck Unconscious, Have tried to respawn
Wallace (DayZ) replied to Wallace (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hey I actually fixed this a while ago and it was a combination of forum members suggestions that got me back playing, so thanks forum members. Here's what I was doing wrong. I had read that if you hit respawn fast enough on the loading screen that you could kill yourself and become a fresh spawn. All this did to me was make me respawn, still knocked out, in the debug plains. I tried this for a week. Finally I tried it without trying to respawn and I spawned on the coast, knocked out, with the timer still not moving. But this time my hunger went down, and my thirst, where as it stayed green in the debug plains, or i was kicked for lobby idling. But I died, and now I'm playing again. So if you're making the same mistake I did, hope this helps. -
You can't anymore. I think that our humanity, murders, bandit kills, and headshots should be added to the score screen.

The Mountain Dew Curse is real I promise you!
Wallace (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Today I was out tent hunting and found a tent with 5 mountain dew. I'd heard about the curse but took them any way. The next tree tents I found had an FN FAL with 2 clips, a M9 SD with 1 magazine, an L85 and an AS50, plus a Tractor and tent. I thought that I had gotten the opposite effect from the curse. I drove the tractor to ,my spot I had picked out to pitch my tent. When I got there and tryed to pitch it, nothing happened. So I tried to pitch it again, same thing. I figured I had to find a different spot, so I moved around andkept trying to pitch it. Next thing I know about 12 tents pop up and I'm banned for Object access flooding. Wow. Not even 20 mins after I loot the Mountain Dew. Me and the server admin worked it out after I was able to convince him that i was honestly not using cheats. But it goes to show, the curse is real. I've still got the Dew though. -
Hi my name is Wallace, I spend most of my time on US 303 and I'm looking for a clan. I have all the necessary equipment for pvp, I use an M4A1 CCO SD as my primary, and I keep a DMR in my backpack. The reason I use the DMR is for Night time sniping with the NVG's. I use a G17 as my secondary. My personal PvP style is the Stalker/Sniper, I'll take my time provided I have the food and water to do so. I don't shoot Bambi's. Anyone that's well geared enough that I think if they saw me I'd have a life threatening situation on my hands, I will most likely shoot, if there is no way to retreat without risk. I play on Public servers, not private hives, I guess because that's what I started on and I don't want to start over, and I like being able to play on a multitude of servers without loosing my gear. My time zone is GMT-5. IF you are a member of a clan that is recruiting, active in PvP, and has mature active players, either PM me or reply here, and we can get a few play sessions in together and see if I click with your group. Thanks for taking the time to read this. ~Wallace

Ichmet, nowhere is going to be safe. There won't be any guarantees, and probably eventually, your camp will be found. I mean there are entire clans who do nothing but fix helicopters and go tent hunting. Just hide it the best you can, avoid the outer edge of the map, because it's where everyone looks, and hope for the best.

The Mountain Dew Curse is real I promise you!
Wallace (DayZ) replied to Wallace (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wouldn't The DayZ equivalent of a pirate be a bandit? Squad Leader Jack Sparrow? -
So I was out in the woods earlier and came across a tent that had every tool in the game on it, every one, including the radio. But then I read on Dayz Wiki that it's impossible to obtain the radio legitematly. Did I pick up a hacked in radio? Should I drop it?

I've seen people playing on youtube with the debug monitor enabled. If I enable my debug monitor through game options, None of my meters work, my blood, food drink, temperature, they all turn solid green and stay that way. Is it like this for everyone right now?
-
I'm also looking for a group but where you're located and where I am are two different time schedules. I just wanted to say congratulations on getting into DayZ!
-
I really just want it to show my kills, but just checking it and switching back isn't a problem.

I think it would be a great idea for the standalone if you could climb through windows. Say you're group is fighting off or running from a horde ( check my profile for my Zombie Hoard suggestion thread) and you get holed up in a house with one exit, the doors blocked by zomboles and you are out of ammo, any real survivor would go through the window, or use karate. But I would go through the window.

DayZ Commander is the way to go my friend, listen to Solitude. And congrats on getting back into DayZ.

To buy or not to buy
Wallace (DayZ) replied to jonfun@btinternet.com's topic in New Player Discussion
If you're looking for a game that will KEEP you on the edge of your seat, all the time, every time you log on until the time you're finished, buy ARMA 2 CO and install this mod. This game is about pure survival, and about what people will do when there isn't enough supplies or trust for everyone to survive. Will you team up? Will you follow people and kill them from behind, because your hunger meter has gotten so red that you're going to die and lose everything you've worked for, because when you die, it is a complete reset. Will you be the one to help any others you see, knowing at any moment they might end your life for a CAN OF FREAKIN BEANS? This is the game you want my friend, no doubt about it. -
DayZ standalone suggestion: Seasonal loot balancing. "Hunger" season, "Cease fire" season, "Zombie infestation" season etc.
Wallace (DayZ) replied to DZR_Mikhail's topic in Suggestions
The idea of the four seasons, spring summer fall and winter, and implementing the ideas the OP had in the standalone, would be amazing. Aesthetic and physical changes based on time of year that effect you would do wonders for this game. I just hope they could make it to where every server shares the same times season wise. They should still differ as far as night and day, for people who have different schedules, but if it's Winter in DayZ, it should be that way for everyone. And I think the four seasons should last about 3 months each like they do here in real life, or however long they would last in chernarus. It's a simulator right? -
jimmy I don't know for sure if you save it by using the mouse wheel it probably will.
