I second the notion to switch to Dayz Commander. It really is easy. Even has a install update button that makes updating a breeze.

Have GPS, Camping Tent, Military Flashlight, Entrenching tool, Toolbox, and a Radio Will trade one or all for a Ghillie Suit.

That's hilarious. Really funny. Sucks for the guys on the bus though, funniest part is the chatbox after the boom.

It means you need to update either the mod, Arma 2 OA, or both. Open DayZ Commander and look in the top right corner for the install/update button. Clikc it and then click install next to the parts you need updated. Good luck.

Bump. This is completely disabling me from playing on a large number of servers, if any forum moderators or anyone with a fix to this could please reply and help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi my name is Wallace and I've been playing for a couple weeks. Here are my questions. How do I make a smart decision on what server is best for me? I start up Dayz commander and the only things I really understand when I see these servers are the country, ping, Dayz version, and number of players. I don't know which of these are connected to the main Dayz official Hive. I don't know what the Different numbers after Beta mean, and why there different on different servers that all run the same 1.7.2.6, or how these affect me. I don't know the difference between HFB, Vilayer, SurvivalServers, etc. hosting. I don't know whether private hives or official ones are more likely to give me a smoother better performing experience. I don't know what Bliss is. I don't know what it means when it says the server restarts at x, y, and z times, or what happens after a server restarts. I don't know why sometimes I can find a server and sometimes I cant. I don't know much really. I want to play on one server, but I want the option to switch to another server in the case I feel the one I'm on isnt working for me anymore. I want a smooth gameplay experience, which I get on some servers, but other servers I play on are choppy and just unplayable. I want to really enjoy this game, and not spend the first 40 mins of gameplay trying to find a server that performs and has an active community. I want the most out of my game, and I believe my lack of knowledge on servers, how they work, and which ones are optimal for me personally, are hindering me. Hi my name is Wallace. I've been playing for a little over a week, and I have a pretty good feel for the game. I'm lloking for an active, I repeat active, clan to play with. The games fun solo, but I want a group. I'm 21 years old, I play tactically, I'm looking for other mature players who play the same way. I live in Kentucky and my Time zone is Gmt-5. It is 9:01 P.M. at the time of this post. I would like to play on Main Hive servers, US#### and so, but I will play on a Private Hive if it is the same as the regular map, with little variation to default spawns and such. The Hive would also have to be stable, have a good amount of players that frequent it, and have good anti-hack security and good active admins. I'm looking for people I can get on TS with and play this game to its fullest. Hi, so I was playing today and looting NW airfield, when a player asked me where I was, He had a TBL clan tag. I told him i didnt feel comfortable revealing my location and he said ok he just wanted to team up. Few minutes later another tbl guy asked me the same question, and got the same answer. My question is, is there any known hack or exploit that allows players locations to be seen, because where I was I dont think anyone would have been able to see me, and while it's possible they had been following me or were watching me from afar, I highly doubt it. Just wondering. Thanks.

I was on an official Hive server, US somthing or another, I was talking to him through side chat, or maybe global, think it was side though.

So I was playing today and noticed buildings spawning randomly in the woods and even on top of NWAF runway. I ran into multiple naval ships in the woods and there were cherno type buildings( the tall ones, condos I guess) on the NWAF runway, and even a Hospital entrance, the glass part u can actually go in, was insisde a barracks! Anyone else experienced this?

I think it would be awesome to have a Zombie Horde/Herd that traveled around the map. There would be like 40 of them, they would always run and scream, and they would be Persistent. They would follow a random path in between major and minor cities and towns. They wouldn't only spawn because of players, but would be a real, mobile threat that wasnt going anywhere. The Horde would be possible to destroy, but then they would simply restart at another random location on the map, not inside cities, woodlands somewhere, and follow another random path to cities and towns. And if you simply destroyed 10 or so of the zombies, and had the rest of the horde chasing you, and got away, those 10 would respawn at the hordes current location and join the path say once there are no players within 200m of the hordes location. This would create for some tense and exciting moments. Say you're looting the firestation in cherno when all of a sudden you hear the unique sound of the horde screaming and running towards you. A normal looting just turned into the fight of your life, or the run of it. This could also create the oppurtunity for a new item, the Tracker. The tracker would actually be a special non-lethal round that you could fire at a member of the Horde and then have their location tracked on your map. This would not be usable on players, or maybe that could be good too, but I'm not sure The only downside I can see is Horde kiting as a form of griefing. Please post with a reply regarding your thoughts on thsi suggestion. Thanks.

Maybe 5 or so hounds at the front of the horde, seemingly leading them to survivors, thats a good idea!

That really blows man, its harsh. Best thing you could have done is switched servers. Don't let it deter you from the game though. Some hints for gearing up. Start off by going to the two coastal cities, Cherno and Electro, and loot the supermarkets, fire stations, and churches. Next hit Balota airfield, which is just north of a town called 'balota which is also along the coast. You can find a chernarus map on google and using the coast you should be able to find your way to these places without a compass or in game map. After you hit these places you probably will have a map, in which case you can just make a waypoint to North west airfield, which is the airfield in the northwestern part of the map (duh). This is what I do on a new character, and while it probably sounds cowardly, I usually try to find a server where its only me or me and 1 other person playing, just to minimize risk until I gear up, Good luck man, and have faith in this game its going a long way, and you're in on the ground floor.

Hi if you're anything like me you're having an incredible time playing this awesome mod, and you're grateful to the people who have produced this mod and offered it up COMPLETELY FREE! But did you know that two of the developers are currently JAILED in Greece, just for taking pictures of an Island with military installations! That's right, jailed for espionage(spying) for taking tourist photos. And to make things worse, much of the greek Justice system is on strike right now, which is delaying things more.
