You're doing yourself a disservice by avoiding doing it at all costs. It isnt about instant gratification, it is about improper spawn mechanics being work around'able. Flinging a dozen empty cans at the hospital windows, is a good reason to clean out the grocery store to me. So give the store once more over, you've earned it for staying there that long. Oh no, it absolutely is more risky. The longer you let 'your' (each player has a proximity of zombies that spawn for them) zombies stay up, the more risk you run no matter where you are. Running through the woods to another spot, with no tail, is a very safe method of obtainable items. In and out looting is by far the survival handbooks goto method. No loot is guaranteed, I should note. Some items have a fraction of a percentage chance of spawning. This is a solo thing, running in groups you will positively need to "hold" down locations for mass scavenging, healing, regrouping, ect. before moving onto other towns. That is the awesome part, how often groups raid towns for supplies, and how quick and savage they do it. There is no 'Aww tin cans' attitude when your buddies left knee split open and another buddy hasnt had a drink in 2 days. Running building to building doesnt really do much for you after you've check all the buildings in a town, which can take an experienced player maybe 10 minutes to do. Which means you take the 20 minute to 3 hour run to another place.. Or you bunker down until you get mildly acceptable supplies. Staying put positively is more risky then trekking through wooded areas, stumbling into free vehicles. ;) I totally understand your perspective and that is respectable. For almost everybody else, playing long enough to have run into at least one heli crash site, there is no more sparkle in rolling around in shrubs to perserve your AKM and can of mountain dew. People who get attached to their items, will most likely rage quit the quickest. This game is not forgiving and has no algorithm that makes sure you dont get screwed. Ive run to places, hungry and thirsty, to see nothing I could eat or drink. Dying out of some stubborn principal just isnt having fun. Kicking a few tin cans around to see if there is something buried underneath, isnt something you need to avoid nor exploit. Pulling something from the rubbish is at least equally as rewarding as picking up someone elses left overs. It is a game mechanic, no matter how you slice it. Your argument has stated you find loot cycling to ruin immersion and other player's fun, in the survivor game as your corner has called it. That means you accept that ALL abused game mechanics must then fall under the same leering disgust that you've thrown at loot cycling. That is your crutch. Respawning with a broken bone while rolling in the hospital boxes full of morphine, is optional game mechanic that youve taken advantage of. It doesnt AUTOMATICALLY do it for you, it is a game mechanic you must initiate in order to bypass "wasted time". The game is designed so that loot removed completely from a building allows for more to spawn, this is a game mechanic. This doesnt happen automatically, you must initiate it in order to bypass "wasted time". Simple stuff here.

You've said this 3 pages ago and frankly I just do not care. This isn't a debate and you started off by saying anyone who does this should be blacklisted from all servers, as well as getting mean spirited on the very first page, so the "poor me, please be civil" act is just pathetic. Cut it out. I don't care about winning an argument, especially a fair one, but this is no debate and certainly not fair. You've had several opportunities to attempt an actual argument and have instead stalled for several pages now. Your argument is that 'loot cycling' is cheating, just as much as hacking, and should result in immediate bans from every server. Yet we have gone through how it is a game mechanic, possibly in need of tweaking, but will remain so. Cheats are not game mechanics and certainly dont persist on newer builds. If one player comes through a building and finds tons of items he wants, he takes them. The person who comes in next and loots fresh items is not a cheater, sorry. We have even agreed those who "farm" the location can be considered exploiting. Still not cheating worthy of global ban however. So do you continue to stick to these guns, eventhough its rubber bullets bounce off the chest of logic? Or do you wish to rephrase your "argument" into something that is deserving of continued conversation? I can only assume that this post, free of insults and more civil then any of either of ours thus far, will be met with more distraction. I do not mind ending our chats at all my friend, just drop the act about it. Being honestly offended and being proven wrong are two very different things.

Literally the same exact post I just replied to and im fairly sure that is your one trick pony. Now this overly defensive act or yours has me struck with enough empathy to offer one more translation of the truth. You have an opinion on the topic at hand. This opinion is semantics mostly and has no effect at all on the way of things. You positioned to make this opinion echo from these forums as fact. I came and served up slices of humble pie. The conversation has ended abruptly due to me stomping it right in its loop hole(s). Now you scramble around kind of whining a little bit, in the hopes someone will swoop in and offer assistance. It obviously isnt going to happen. Now it is mostly awkward. So if you absolutely need to post the SAME exact post again, saying nothing, defending nothing, and not at all rewording or trying again at your lost argument.. Then I will just not be able to bless you with another all star retort. If it is last word you want, Im fine with that. I got more sensible word, least you can have is last.

Your points don't count, at all, as i've debunked each and every one. Using the respawn if youre in an unsavory situation or like a real survival game forage through that hospital a bit better and have fun. The second situation is someone who claims moral high ground, can simply "accidentally" fall from a height. Oh oops! Its called an exploit, your only real point was the word exploit. The creator and common sense both told you its not cheating, but you stuck your fingers in your ears and shouted 'NAH NAH BOO BOO, I CANT HEAR YOU!'. Its not some distant past that is unfindable, lol, its like 4 page thread for christ sake. Its over man, lay it down already this is getting embarrassing.

Once again it is back into the shell, the go to defense of YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ME!!! I sadly do and what it is YOU that cannot understand; is that it doesnt matter. What you do or dont do has no bearing on the topic at hand. You classified "Loot cycling" as something that should be considered a game world destroying, flat out cheating, exploit and to be blacklisted from every server. What I quickly jibbed, if you were doing some of that paying attention you whine so much about, is that there has to be a server that supports it. I doubt there is even one, but regardless even a handful would be a tiny minority of the 5-6.5k different Dayz servers usually running when I play. This defeats your white knight gallivanting the lowly forums routine and is the cold hard uppercut of logic that topples your limp body of lies, right to the canvas. This is what I thought you understood. You laid down your "argument" under the guise of righteousness and that too is undermined by similarities to other 'bugged game mechanics', you support whole heartedly. You thought we were arguing your crazy real life scenarios that you thought even counted in a conversation amongst grown people. Now there is no back peddling, there is no "You didn't read", you dont get it.. There is your one true last chance to reform your asinine opinion into something that hasnt already felt the red sting of the backhand of sound logic. It isnt cheating and you cannot argue otherwise. It is not, you want it to be and are trying to raise awareness... I get that and it is cute, but im passing up on the girl scout cookies. So you make a valid statement worthy of my perceptive time or you spout more confused meandering, pussy footing, and general around the bush beating. Choice is yours holy man.

I have no concern or care for what you wish. It also does not matter what you explained, dying somewhere by "caring a little less" about your character, to 'teleport' around the map to your favorite destination, is absolutely the same type of "exploit" you crusaded against here. I also have no remorse for causing your stomach to turn, as it is more likely guilt. You called people cheaters because you disagreed with using the game mechanic, but incidentally admitted others you use on a whim without second thought. So throw around the word hypocrite or that someone with an air of arrogance makes you a little sick, so I may stretch this grin of justice even further. We've already agreed this isn't a "cheat" worthy of blacklisting anyone, nor even any consideration. We've established that there is no servers with this ruleset in place, even though its easy to set up. Therefore... We've also concluded you over reacted in order to get a rise over something you didn't see eye to eye with the large majority of the player base over. Now we need just close to book and stare at the cover wishing our stomachs didnt hurt out of disgust for those who cant apply the slightest logic to their ignorance. Good day.. ill start.

How do I know? It is always the real cheaters who try to flee to moral high ground in any argument that you dont constantly remind them is over semantics. Now that we have narrowed down this game mechanic and not in anyway cheating, I feel putting your game play on the ropes is more the important topic. As the argument ends we are left with only the lingering of your formal accusation, simply deemed 'optionally' forbidden. So I wonder what other game things fall into this category that you may support or oppose, (since finally you submit on the argument at han) that further shows you how to be less lynch mob on those who dont share your definition of perfect gaming. You already supported, without thought and just naturally, respawn as a means of avoiding the hard survival aspect of the game, like taking a short walk off a roof because you werent "paying attention", but how nice it was to get the spawn over by where your tent was.. Right? Same thing. I would personally blacklist people like you just the same, but sadly for us we are stuck together playing a near perfect version of a perfect game. So thank you for saying your piece, as it will stand mostly as a testament on what not to bother debating. Here is your 2 cent refund. So once again I wish you good luck and bid you adieu.

What you were saying and what forced me to debunk said spiel, was people who cycle loot were cheaters on par with hacking, as far as to suggest the practice being blacklisted on every server. Overall the shiftiness of your sketchy 'perfect player' portrayal just wasnt convincing and you were easily tied up into acknowledging your 'fault'; simple mechanics like 'respawn' are used to bypass the survival elements of the game just as much- Like abusing spawn mechanics to exploit for instance. I think you've also logged to another sever to move somewhere undetected, a hunch of course but my hunches are prize horses in accuracy. Anyway.. you can argue until youre blue in the face and it just wont matter. Its a sandbox game and even if its a cat turd covered in sand, it isnt some illegal commonly frowned upon thing- you're blowing it out of proportion out of some weird butt hurt of always think people cheated to outplay you. But to everyone else its simply classified as; Tough titties. Like I said though, sure was fun and what not. We all hope all these game mechanics and bugs are removed/altered from this mod in time for stand alone and done in a way that is less.. debatable. Regardless, good luck and have fun.

1) Find a low ping with medium to high number of players. This way if it maintains with 30/40 people on it, consistently, you can assume it runs smooth for you. DO NOT assume the server closest to you is your fastest. While im on a NY based server most of the time (im from NJ), a chicago one also runs smooth for me, even a EU one I accidentally stumbled upon. If youre on public hive, honestly just find low ping and if you get ANY lag switch servers. Dont give bad servers the benefit of the doubt, active admins clean it/ban hackers from it quickly. Ive noticed tore up servers always have some sluggish feel to them, so pick one with active communities even if you have no desire to "join" any facet in particular or at all because they are the safest. You WILL end up dying to a hacker, its inevitable, networking on banning them all from everywhere- is any legit players duty. Even the delightfully ironic ones who happily admit to it, but call themselves the "good" kind. You find them face planted in a christmas box as they say it too. 2) Server restarts on most servers are a refresh. Bodies, stray loot, destroyed vehicles, helicopter crashes, ect all reset. The busted vehicles could respawn at their original location or have a chance to somewhere else as different vehicle, some servers have additional vehicle spawn locations so the randomness is exponential. Then at server restart I found it where I got it a few days before. 3) Bliss is a private hive type, that gives more control over the server then normal. Ive found bliss to almost always have those random spawns/changes always in my favor, so I get why its called bliss. Rest I dont know much on, ive only been playing 2 weeks and sadly not much time in. Explore- posted maps miss a lot of custom tweaks that act as real surprises.

This post is a hot mess. You can only crawl (prone), when bones are broken. Morphine fixes the broken bone, but you will still need bandages to stop any bleeding and food/blood pack if you lost blood. Broken bones also open up another option in the ESCAPE menu, which is respawn where you 'end the suffering'. Ive heard, pure speculation since I havent found confirmation, that "crawling" with broken bones or being in shock, especially when raining, makes you susceptible to infection by exasperating your temperature. When this happens you need antibiotics, which are crazy rare at hospitals and pretty rare at crashed choppers. Good luck.

"I guess its probably an exploit, I guess it is something we have to look at, but I would consider it more a symptom of a poor loot spawn mechanic.". This after he explained how the loot spawns are, as a whole, not functioning like he would want. He goes on to say he does not blame the players for doing this. He finishes off by explaining some of his goals for stand alone and changes to the loot spawn. He also said exploit is up to interpretation, which combined with everything else means; Get over it or play somewhere it is changed or wait for loot overall to be implemented better in stand alone. He in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM, called anyone doing it a cheater or said it is considered the same level as hacking. He actually very much indicated he doesnt blame people for doing it. So im not sure why you thought that supported your calling people doing it cheaters who should be banned. So thank you very much for providing this link, it absolutely ends the argument about whether or not this is cheating or simply taking advantage of something incorporated in the game. As for the large majority of your post, like nearly all of them, I wont respond to it. You have been calling people cheaters, children, name calling, finger wagging, ect. Since you got here. Over exaggeration is your cup of tea, obviously, but you can't do this and then play butthurt when you perceive youre getting a little back. Im going to assume this conversation is over now, as it is no longer debatable whether or not this is considered cheating and something people would be banned for. Thanks for the convo and sorry if you felt offended, it just seemed difficult to explain to you why this isnt cheating and something servers should enforce. Cya around!

"If you steal from someone in real life, it doesn't matter what your intentions are, you're still stealing and breaking the law." You said this prior to me even joining the conversation. You continued to take it a step further, by making vague real life references and mask them with me simply using a single word "realistic". Another excellent try, but seen right through. Also you use repetition again, really hard this time. Every other sentence is a reference to me not reading your posts, eventhough I purposely break them down section by section and destroy each section with common sense and a sprinkle of logic. And yet again, as if purposefully ironic, you fall more victim to your accusations then I. This is a dodge and a pathetic one at that, if I didn't retort ALL of the dumb things you say; we wouldnt be here. If you cannot properly refute truth, fact, and logic.. Then don't even squabble over my posts. I am just as shocked as you are, that you are still responding. I cannot understand being proven wrong on several things, made to look a little silly, and still coming back and just saying "You didnt read my posts! I wont respond to you, but here let me reply...". LOL. You cannot show where he said this or prove he has "rules" or even just opposes the respawning of items. Regardless it does not matter, because it can be modified on our end if deemed a problem. Spawns are being easily tweaked by almost every server, to some degree, so that is what absolutely disproves what you're saying. I havent seen a single server with no item respawns. So you keep saying it like it is a widely accepted fact or the reality, when in fact YOUR OPINION ON IT IS THE MINORITY. Oops, this will be "not read" and fall under repeating yourself im sure. Excellent. I knew it wouldnt be long before you put your foot in your mouth. You are arguing that using a game mechanic is cheating, exactly along the lines of hacking (your words), yet you are quick to offer an exploit as a work around. Kill yourself to respawn fresh? That is literally exploiting the game. So much for playing fair in this survivor game. Your credibility, if there was any left, is shot and bleeding out.. Maybe just respawn and start again, it would be way too much work and effort repairing it. Posting so much, yet saying so little. You thought it was a show stopper to ask me to explain the 'real life' rational to doing this. Dont get all pissy because I nailed it with ease after mocking how stupid it was to begin with. Im appalled you would cling to this single thing, but not surprised considering everything else was perfectly rebutted and fell under "You didnt read". How I wish I hadnt, it is getting embarrassing. Anyway this is absolutely semantics, we do not know the state of disrepair, the location, the building materials, the time elapsed, ect. Also zombies potentially could break down walls and destroy parts of cars. The point of mentioning rubble was to illustrate how the most usable things would NOT be sitting out in plain sight. Even though I could, I will not further bicker over 'rubble' and will replace it completely with scavenge. I know you got my point and realized how spot on it was. In a panic you latched on to a building falling on a bag of chips and how scavenging would be impossible. Your real life wild card didnt work, your accusations of cheating didnt stick, honestly nothing you're saying is sticking. You keep saying im not reading it and my lord you dont know how much I wish that was true, but its simply not true. Youre not saying anything relevant or sensible, bottom line. You cannot be on the high horse anymore, I am sorry. You pushed so hard for it to be considered an exploit, yet offered without thinking a solution to a problem I trapped you with, an actual exploit (character respawn abuse). If you want to just say "You didnt read anything ever" or something.. I will let that be the last word, if that is what you need or something. Have a great day.

That is an exhilarating disclaimer for getting your logic's teeth pushed down its throat, again. But since you're here, realize I can no longer be flowers and confetti, sadly its time for raw truth and fact. May sting a little. Incorrect, you can use repetition all you want, but the fallacy wont suddenly become more believable. Removing items from a spawn, makes more items spawn in a fairly short period of time. That is a fact and a game mechanic. Period. Just not true, again. Try breaking a bone and literally rolling to another town because no morphine spawned. This is semantics, this is not real life, its a game. Open a can of beans with your bare hands, post it on YouTube, then I will MAYBE allow this absolutely silly logic to stick. For the sake of argument though and to completely obliterate any debate you would cling to; Digging through the rubble that positively would occur in this post-apoc scenario, would yield more scavenge for those patient enough to do so. Rubble would litter city scapes and there is no telling what treasures lay beneath. True survival would actually more accurately depend on this method of clearing debris in order to find usable items. As opposed to important items sitting on a counter top all nice and new, just waiting for a unique snowflake like you to stumble upon it. And in that event.. Someone will be waiting there protecting it, being not so happy that you would want to take it. It doesnt phase me that you cling to semantics as if it makes them valid. I stay the course and use common sense. Scavenging is absolutely part of this game and attempting to refute this is futile. By your own logic, you cannot loot a location you have already looted, or else you're exploiting. Shamefully for you, we both know you have done so already and this easily can be construed as you simply being salty at how less effective you are at it then others. Being as you enjoy the eye rolling comparison to real life, I hope you practice at it if the day comes when you need such skills to survive. Semantics. Anyone can claim any game mechanic is "cheating", but it is blatantly obvious what cheats are if you play this game. Even glitches, like someone kept saying to jump out of a vehicle if it crashes, to repair it to full. I got out of the wrecked car and shot him. Then I scavenged a local factory for a tire that was buried under two whole loads of junk. ;)

You have this arrogance that makes you think your way to play is how the game was meant to be played. Im sorry, but youre wrong, period. The spawns would NOT be so quick if this wasnt an intended tatic. Calling people who cycle loot or use tents, cheaters.. You must be out of your mind. I been playing 1 week and do not have the free time you obviously have (im 30). My first few days playing I didnt even know what I needed to survive properly, outside of food and water. Getting matches/knife is pretty important, a map/compass is nice, and things like a tent- backpack- medicine- water bottle- vehicle parts.. Even the simpliest of these things took me and my 3 friends 4-5 hours to obtain, running town to town. With loot cycling it isnt a cheat or easymode, it still takes a solid hour or two because the loot is percentage based. It also creates a realistic atmosphere where groups are 'holding' down areas. It makes things more dynamic and NEVER ensures high end loot. The best gun ive had so far was a m16 acog, my friend got an m14 aim which she adored. This was after 4 days of playing the same place, at least 2 hours a day. It wasnt instant and we have since lost these items. The system you describe being 'the right way to play' makes it sound like you play on some roleplaying white list server. Normal servers have high amounts of bandits and even worse hackers. Spending HOURS AND HOURS getting the things NEEDED to have fun playing, only to lose them ina second due to an ACTUAL cheater.. Would make people quit. Its NOT how the game was designed, no matter how hard you try to pretend it is. So your only choice is to learn to mod, its not that hard, and create a server with single spawn items, on a 4 hour server reset. That is what YOU (bold, underline, italics, EMPHASIS ON THE YOU PART) find fun, so you need to find a server that accommodates YOUR idea of fun. Meanwhile get off your high horse and realize its a game mechanic and in no way is it cheating or glitching. End of story.
