I think the inclusion of carnivorous animals would provide a dangerous thrill to hunting, because it creates the sense that you're being hunted yourself, by a creature that's just trying to do what you've been doing - survive. From a gameplay point of view, it'd mean you'd have to look out for more than zombies, especially in forests. I can imagine a scene like in I Am Legend, with Will Smith. You're zeroing in on a boar, then all of a sudden a group of wolves comes down on it. It'd give the environment a sense of livelieness, while providing a glimpse into what some animals are now forced to do.

    Zombie animals

I think the addition of zombie animals might make the game more science fiction or fantastical, rather than the stark realism that the devs are going for. The zombies in Day Z, in my mind, are not supposed to be a varied, interesting character in themselves, but rather a force which has thrown the players into the survival lifestyle they now live. They're a backdrop for the greater challenge of survival in a post-apocalyptic land. Mind you, that's just how I play. There may be hundreds of other players that just hunt zombies rather than searching for food and scrounging for supplies.
  6. So I've found it a bit odd that I have to seemingly stand to sit down with the ' command (by default), but my visibility remains the same as if I had still been standing. I realise that the sitting command is more of an aesthetic action rather than a gameplay feature (similar to saluting), but for roleplaying purposes, I think that it would fit more if when your character sits, you take on the visibility of the crouching level. At least this way, players can simulate rest nearby their camp or in a house with a lower chance of being seen.
