    Poisons

This idea really intrigues me and sounds great. I think the biggest problem would be finding a level of rarity which meant that it was still used (capable of being found, and enough to make it a reasonable risk) but not common enough to be a new tool for people who kill for fun (just carry around poisoned water and add it to random loot piles for the lulz). Humanity would also have to drop whenever you applied poison to anything, because who would do that with good intentions?
  2. I haven't thought this through really at all, so just putting a possible idea out there to discuss/be shot down because of stupidity etc. Without introducing something like ACRE, an easy alpha-friendly workaround (while something substantial is developed) could include some kind of rare item drop that gives a password to a TeamSpeak server/channel associated with the server you're currently on (essentially finding a radio). Not sure what kind of load TS servers are capable of, so given the huge popularity of Day Z recently (with AusArma putting up new/bigger servers seemingly all the time) it may not be feasible at all. First obvious obstacle would be everybody telling everybody the password over side. Not sure how you'd deal with that. Maybe it would only work if direct chat is fixed, then side/global/command/everything else disabled. Obviously you could then magically 'duplicate' the radio by giving it to your friends... Also, what's to stop everybody just jumping on a TS server of their choosing beforehand... I'm not sure. But this might give an incentive for player communication with strangers on the same server which you would otherwise not bother to do. You could set up sub-channels to simulate radio channels, and switch between them etc. Anyway, silly idea and I'm rambling. But could be expanded on if anything is salvagable!
  3. Hi guys, Is there any way to have multiple characters in the mod, through using something like different player profiles? Or is it strictly PC specific? My current game I'm with a friend who is away for a few days. I don't want to leave him (as together we are going pretty well), but at the same time I want to keep playing this awesome mod. If not, what do you think about this being a suggestion? I can see some people arguing about it detracting from the experience to be able to change characters, but I don't think it would be much different to server hopping.
  4. I understand that concern, but at the same time, would anybody seriously go to the effort (and risk) of changing characters and repeatedly re-entering servers just so they can keep more food or ammo? It also means if you decided to actually move your camp anywhere (which some would consider the idea of the game, really), you'd have to walk all your characters to wherever you go. I know I wouldn't bother for a few extra cans of beans.
  5. Thanks for the help everybody, I'll stop looking for some kind of magical way to start again and keep my old character. I guess I'll just have to roleplay that my friend has gone into a very specific 2 day coma and just before he did he hid all his gear. Do I stay with him and wait? Do I go on alone? Do I waste a shitload of money and buy a second copy of Arma? The decisions are never ending in this game.
