For the love of DayZ, fix zombie pathing

I love the idea of fast zombies, in fact I would love it if zombies could hit you while running. But with the pathing now its like they are kenyan track stars high on meth. They zig zag everywhere in this weird motion at the speed of light. If the zombies could be slowed down a TAD and run toward you, or atleast in a linear path, it would make the experience much better. Right now most people are only shooting zombies when they stop right in front of you, to get a guaranteed shot. But when they are spazzing its pretty much a waste of ammo to try and kill them. Fixing zombie pathing would make the experience much better. On an unrelated note, rocket if your reading this, please dont ever listen to the people trying to favor one playstyle over another. The reason this mod gained massive popularity is the degree of freedom players are allowed. Ive seen many great sandbox games die off to developers listening to the bitching minority -

I was on top of the largest building in Cherno with a CZ sniping people. I saw one guy in the fire station on the second level, I could see him through a window but he was a little to the right. I proceeded to fire, I saw blood and some movement. I couldn't tell if he died or not, because he was to the right of the window. So like an idiot, I tried to 'lean' left while prone to see his body, which caused me to roll off the edge of the building, ~200 feet to my death. Instant karma -
I've been playing sandbox titles since ultima online, and if there is one thing that kills immersion in a sandbox, its a vocal minority of forum whiners. The devs get ideas from this vocal minority and decide to change a game mechanic, that ends up breaking immersion, and losing a very loyal fanbase. Rocket responded to one whiner with,

This thread might get deleted because your offending people who are anti-pvp. Even though I agree with you, these forums are HEAVILY one sided, favoring the vocal minority. Every single time a good sandbox pops up, these jackasses invade the froums whining trying to get the game changed in their favor. -

These forums are one sided, the vocal minority is getting their opinions heard more than the pro sandbox people, mainly thanks to the moderators who delete our pro-sandbox threads as they pop up (Thanks umbigouslybadbuy, for deleting my thread after you couldn't rationalize your actions, and got owned in an argument). Dont give rocket the wrong idea, look at the survey, most people are survivors and don't have a major problem with bandits. Give a sandbox rules and it no longer becomes a sandbox, and it loses its immersion. Please for the love of god don't kill this sandbox listening to people who spend more time whining on the forums, than playing the actual game. -

The end of DayZ will be because of people like you. Sandbox titles have died off due to changes the developers made by listening to a VOCAL minoirty. Even if you look at the dayz survey, only about 6 percent of the population has a problem with bandits. Once you take away player freedom, you destroy the amount of player made content you can generate, which makes the game very stale and bland. It takes away the emotion filled heart pounding aspect that a few sandbox titles are known for. The funnest times ive had in this game was grouping up with survivors I met, doing our own objectives to gather supplies, and having shootouts with bandits who tried to stop that. If that freedom was taken away, I doubt many people would still be playing. Taking away PvP would make this game RIDICULOUSLY easy. The best part about this game is knowing your going to die, take that away and you take away much of the tension and suspense that a zombie survival game should contain. Theres plenty of other non pvp zombie games out there, Id suggest you check out those. -

Jesus christ grow some balls people. This game allows a degree of freedom that is unseen in todays games, hence why its so popular. Even looking at the DaYz survey, most people dont have problems with bandits, its only a vocal 6 percent of the community. Fuck off, stop trying to ruin another sandbox game. You guys take the worst case senario and amplify it, theres plenty of people that group up in the game and actually do player objectives. People trying to ruin sandbox games and kill immersion throguh playstyle restrictions, make me sick. -

The moral effect theory is the dumbest thing ive heard. Look at the worlds most prolific serial killers, they acted like completely normal people in public. I seriously fucking hate people like you who try to limit player freedom and favor one playstyle over another. You people are the reason we dont have many sandbox titles today. Go play left for dead or any other zombie game thats watered down and linear. -

Great mod, but for the love of God rocket, dont listen to people asking for playstyle favoritism. It would kill the game for me and a lot of others, if you started penalizing one playstyle over another

No, no, and no. Do not favor one playstyle over another, it limits player freedom and destroys much player made content. Im honestly sick and tired of you fucking people like the OP. Giving the game a mechanic that makes bandits obvious PK's kills the trust factor in DaYz, which is a big part of the game. Bundy, Gacy, and Dahmer, all talked and acted like normal people in public. -

Title says it all. Many people have fallen in love with this game (and the popularity shows it) because of the presistant world survival zombie aspect with total player freedom. Many of you jackasses are yelling "COD WITH ZOMBIES" to try and limit PvP and player freedom. When you limit a playstyle, you limit the options a player is left with, and you limit the amount of content you can create in a game. Take Ultima online for example. This game died for a large playerbase after the trammel expansion, which removed non-consensual PvP, and also killed alot of player content that came with PK. It took away the heart pounding, emotion filled content that came with full loot PKing. It was dickheads like you, who cant think of creative ways to slove "bandit" problems, that want to limit the appeal of DayZ to a few PvEers, and ruin the experience for everyone else. There are a billion other linear, hold your hand, limited playstyle games out there. Why waste time with this 'cod deathmatch'? Why dont you go play one of those? Leave the game to people like us who appriciate a good sandbox with player freedom, and who can actually come up with our own solutions to solving a problem. Plus rocket already said he wasn't adding any limitations to playstyles, so fuck off. Theres a plethora of other watered down linear games you jackasses can play. -
