Yes there is, grab and axe, equip it, run straight at the zombie while it is walking to you and swing once you get in front of the zombie.

When me and my mates play together, and someone engages on us with guns we just start yelling and laughing while we try to figure out where we are getting shot from. Good times :D -
I do hope they add this, dropping an item and waiting a minute for it to spawn on the ground is quite annoying

Here's some advice, before you start telling people to get on the floor make sure you are in a position where you are able to shoot and kill your target before you start speaking in chat or you will give them the chance to run, and like in the video draw a weapon and attack you.
