When server restarts while driving and you are hopelessly stuck in middle of northern Chernarus wilderness, you find this.

Enfields are easily accurate up to 400+ meters. Winchesters are accurate up to 250+ meters easily. Learn to aim without scopes. Seriously :D Well, i didnt mean that enfields arent accurate to +150 meters, they are. The difference is that rapid fire make you go down, for cover. Ive noticed that the Winchester slugs have a huge drop after 150-200 meters (which is logical though).

FR4 server in private with 12 players on it
hermanni replied to drakenof's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They are just farming shit, then hop servers. Rustles my jimmies a bit. -
Stuff like wrecked, desolate UAZs or supply trucks could have stuff like half buried supply crates near them that would contain a small amount of ammo and/or weapons. It would drive players inland and make them explore, maybe even stop the coastal bean war.

Remove or significantly decrease humanity score rising over time
hermanni replied to aopfin87's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Agreed, but at the same time you should lose less humanity for a murder. -
Yes They encourage unnecessary PvP on both sides.

I were running from a horde in Elektrozavodsk. I decided to go in the downtown office building as its easily defendable and has usually lots of ammo. Apparently my gunshots lured 4-5 guys, one of them being a bandit (No idea if they were going to kill me/just wait for the zombies to kill me or help). I heard some footsteps downstairs, took good position and asked if they were friend or foe. Suddenly a bandit shows up, he is not responding to my calls so i shoot him. Then i hear way more footsteps, i think its more bandits and take the dead bandits AK74 (Winchester isnt exactly good for fighting multiple guys in close quaters). Then 3-4 survivors show up and tell me politely i killed their mate and if i could give his AK74 back. I agreed and ran the hell out of there.

It would be hard to set up guards even for a small town. You need like +10 people to keep the towns defence up, because there will be casualties. It would be a constant target of bandit raids (not that its a "bad" thing but they would break throught sooner or later). I would recommend a fortified ranch that you can keep up with less than 10 people rather than a town/village, it wouldnt be so attractive to bandit raids either. Taking a city and setting up guards in it is entirely possible, but you have to deal with the respawning zombies. you would need a few people to watch the outskirts and give an early warning of bandits or other hostiles. another few to watch the town (assuming you are talking about a village about the size of Stary Sobor or smaller). And a couple to bring supplies for the men stationed in the town. A vehicle would be necessary.
