I don't want them to release the full version with a full retail price too soon when a lot of people are currently just finding out about this game. There's still a loooooooong way before this can become a standalone. I've died more to annoying glitches than other players + as much as I love this mod, the game would become very boring of all that is offered is looting and killing and they'll likely be adding a lot more content.

    Your stupidest death

    First I went prone on top of the stairs in the church on outskirts of cherno, which for some reason broke my legs. After using up morphine, a bandage, and losing more blood (I was already down to 8000 before this idiot glitch) I went into an adjacent apartment for loot, and began to fight off zombies. A couple were basically invicinble, and one out of fucking no where one came out of no where and started nothing short of sodomy, and soon I ended up dying. While it was a little frustrating to experience two very shitty glitches one after the other, I'm not that angry because this is an alpha.

I've been reading the forums and many people seem to want some sort of disincentive to random murder since the benefit of killing and looting another player far exceeds any minor risk or working together. Others want some sort of psychological breakdown to counteract this. FYI I am not a carebear and the PVP makes me always on the verge of shitting my pants because clunky zombies aren't that much of a threat. I would suggest that perhaps after murdering someone you would lose X amount of blood. Seems simple enough to implement, and more factors would be needed to be taken into account before killing, such as blood left, food supply, buddy with transfusion, if the benefit of killing a noob with no gear is greater than the possible blood loss, etc. Blood lost would need to be big enough so that it plays a role in decision making, but not so much that you are fucked after 1 kill. Yeah it's not "realistic" but neither are many other aspects of the game, this is only a shitty suggestion on a topic that keeps coming up. Also, it's not punishing bandits, but adding a new element which would encourage teamwork.

  7. I've been reading a lot of threads about how people feel that there is no disincentive to killing others, and how it ruins the overall experience. I suggest then that the devs implement a system where killing another person increases your chances of getting PTSD, which brings in flashbacks of the murder and ultimately debilitates you (flashbacks last for anywhere from minutes to hours, and you are squirming and vulnerable). This would greatly discourage PvP and would unify all players.

    Should I buy this game?

    I have an HD5730 (laptop version). I don't know the analogue to a desktop GPU or how it compares, but the game runs like dicks. Luckily I'm building a new rig soon.

    The only solution to random PvP

    EH this wasn't a serious thread I was extremely bored and I agree that PvP is what makes this game. With zombies you can keep running and running but when it comes to other players you need to make tougher decisions and watch your back. However I do feel like there should be some sort of incentive to help others. Maybe in a future version the humanity levels will be more integral to the experience. Not some cheesy buff like 5% improved accuracy. Maybe some sort of side objectives (yes it's a survival sandbox but it wouldn't hurt to try since it's still in alpha) that require teamwork and has some sort of reward that people would want to achieve.
  14. Hey guys, I'm new to the mod and will be trying it out later tonight. Currently I work the night shift and the next day off is on Friday, and as a result I am awake during the night. I was wondering if anyone would like to team up for the whole night (I live in EST, no problem with playing someone from halfway across the world) as pretty much everyone I know is asleep at this time and this game looks a lot more fun with teamwork.
