This game has been the bane of my gaming life since I heard about it. We know it's in ALPHA, or a glimpse in your father's eye it's that fucking fucked up for some of us, yet there's still thousands of us trying to play it. I've deleted it, and reinstalled it via the 6 installer. Prior to, and after doing so, I can only spawn in Wilderness Bay, which is nothing but featureless hills. Anyone please point me to a solution to this. I've wrongly trashed this game in the past for various reasons, but keep popping back in for a look. But now I've come to the conclusion that the whole idea is trying to run before it can walk, which in turn has wasted collectively probably thousands upon thousands of hours in peoples' time.

Doesn't make any difference I'm afraid. I think I've had enough of trying, time to fuck this shit off until it's fit for purpose.

One more thing, I didn't install any of the previous betapatches since the one released toward the end of May, do I have to download all the patches since my last patch-up, or just the one the servers a running? I keep spawning in Wilderness Bay, I can't get to play this game which is so bloody frustrating. I've spent more time fucking about with Dayz than playing it.

I've installed the newest Beta, yet all servers are running 93825, so does that mean I can't play until the servers update to 93965??

Is downloading and running this patch sufficient to play DayZ? It's just I keep spawning in Wilderness Bay, and I know I ain't downloaded Beta since May, so I suspect that's the problem. Any help please?

Sorry for sounding noobish, but the extent of my time in Dayz has seen nothing more than a few people in the same city at the same time. This talk of tent cities and working vehicles, what the crack there? Where do you see such things? Is there a synopsis around the net which tells of the purpose of this game?

How about a T-shirt with the red broken chain symbol, or "waiting for server response" written across the front?

What you say is true Blergh, but with the apparent instant success and the overload of demand, one would imagine it would've been handled better and quicker.

Are the two versions to Dayz? Alpha and Beta? Anyone care to explain?

You and me and thousands of others so it seems. Think I'm going to uninstall until it until the full release is out. I'm spending far too much time giving it "one more try".

You found the 'uninstall programs' thing, didn't you?

I'd personally recommend switching the game off, checking back in here for news of the official release every week or so, once it's out, try again. The game is kind of addictive, and strangely it has the power to make me keep trying to get in, thus wasting vast amounts of time doing so.

It's a new craze, people are flicking their beans in excitement at the prospect of waiting 15-20 minutes to enter a game. I've spent upto 50% of my nights off talking in the chat lobby asking if anyone else is having problems getting into the game, and almost everyone does, yet they keep coming back for more. But seriously, it's normal, the game is in its alpha stage and you have to expect such problems.

Every time I join a server I spawn at a location called Wilderness Bay (yes it has a name this location, it shows on bottom right of screen like any other spawn point), and there's nothing but infinity of featureless hills regardless of the direction you run. Is this a bug, or a clever place where banned or suspended players go? I find it hard to be a bug with the name of this place showing up at the bottom right hand of the screen. Any help will be appreciated.

Well, for starters I can't believe nobody else has had this trouble, and secondly, I managed to fix this problem by leaving the game running all night so my character died of thirst, starvation etc. Pretty pathetic really, but I know, "it's in its Alpha stage".

Respawning just put me back there. I'm deleting the game then redownloading and installing it. After doing the above I am still Spawning in Wilderness Bay. Help please... I ain't done anything to be put in DayZ Purgatory.

New here, I was compelled to ask why the youtube vids of DayZ show groups of people talking over the internet. Yet, I am yet to witness such a thing while actually playing it. Even using the built-in VOIP is frowned upon in this game. So, long moan short...how the fuck does one get to team up and talk with others who are playing in the same server?

Mumble would be great for this game, in fact it should be a condition. Trying to keep someone in view while you're typing to them is risky, and I know as I've been killed by people while typing a friendly message to them.
