Been playing DayZ now after i stumbled upon it a few days ago. Absolutely love it and have picked up the hang of the game rather well. My latest character has been alive for a few in game days and I'm doing very well for myself I think. But I would like to find some other people to play with, preferable a clan with TS/Vent and quite active. The only hitch for me right now is my player on non-private hives is corrupted so I cant make characters there. I've been playing a lot on the Villays private hive though so hopefully someone here has a clan I can join?
So while playing on US 303 I logged in and my character insta-died. I respawned and walked a ways down the coast and came upon a house, was crouch walking near a wood pile and broke my leg. Irritated I disconnected and re-connected to log back in and suicide however I got stuck with a "Character data received from server" and it never moved past that. I tried at least 25 different servers with the same problem so I did a CLEAN complete reisntall of everything TWICE! Nothing changed, then I tried to connect to a private hive server and VOILA! I can make characters again so I believe my character data on the public hives has become corrupt. How do I fix this?
I also am not getting this error after being able to play just fine the last few days and even last night. I logged into my normal server and my character was killed upon spawn. Respawned and walked close to a wood pile, fell down and broke my leg, Logged off out of irritation to create a new profile and now all I get it Character Data Received from server. Never moves past that for any server.
