    How about this?

Like this? I fell through the prow of the ship, and couldn't vault into the cargo hold. I logged out and back in and I was in the water, and I managed to swim back out. Worth a try perhaps. Have you tried vaulting through the walls?

    Favorite Melee weapon ( s )

I can dream. Hopefully in the future the animations will be better, and most weapons will kill with one or two shots to the head. I'd prefer weapons that were balanced based on size, weight and speed. Then you could carry something like a Khukuri for lightness and concealability, but you would need to be closer than you would be with an axe. I also think things like bats and batons shouldn't cause blood loss, but have a better chance at knockdown. Then you could hit some-one and hand-cuff him without having to waste a bandage. At the moment I carry a fire axe like most people and ignore the rest.

Rocket answers to everyone who complains about 3D view

Fuck. I prefer first person, I find it more fair, more immersive and more intense. But in Australia the server list is hardly ever populated with a 3PP:OFF server with more than 10 people. I have found a 40/40 once. So when I can't find a good first person server, I play on a 3PP:ON server. Now when the hardcore servers are empty, I will have to play with a different character? What exactly did this solve or add?

    Correcting SA ballistics

Beans. I can't imagine why this won't be fixed. In fact I don't know why it would be like this at the current stage at all. Rocket has said he wants real world knowledge to have value in DayZ, and having these weird independent game physics where a .357 round or shell load act like high velocity rifle rounds rewards obscure game knowledge and punishes real knowledge. I hope you get more beans and some-one takes a look at this, if they're not aware of the problem already.

    Changing/inconsistent bloodtypes

I think blood testers should only be used for testing blood bags you find and the blood of unwilling "donors". I don't think its too much of a stretch to assume that survivors would know their own blood type from before the apocalypse.

Remember to tear your shirt in half before attempting hardcore mode to limit possible blood loss.

Why some people even do play DayZ ?

Some questions, first of all if you don't mind, where are you from, what is your native language. Some-one said you sound young but to me it sounds more like English just isn't your first language. Second, are you aware of the gestures? Go into the key-mapping and set the key for "taunt" to f4. As it currently is: F1-Wave F2-Surrender/hands up (Crouch to put your hands on the back of your head) F3-Sit down and relax F4-Flip some-one off Might help a little with the roleplay. And if someone tells you to freeze, you can surrender and they might not shoot you. Some of them will be pretty nasty. Sometimes you might be killed. But sometimes they might just take your gear or handcuff you to make sure you're not a threat. It is a gamble, but I haven't killed, poisoned or humiliated anybody I've captured, and I've never done it in a way that made them shoot me out of spite.

When is more content being added?

The Announcement section is good to check. There are also some Twitter accounts like Rocket2Guns and DayzDev, try the official DayZ SA website, there should be links there. There is also a DayZ dev Tumblr, but that doesn't get updated quite as often. Also, slow down. The next update, which should be out on friday or after will have a double barrel shotgun that can be cut down with a hacksaw. We have also seen concept art for a Kalashnikov, a crossbow, a "hunting rifle", a SKS, a Ruger 10/22. So far there hasn't been any mention that I've seen of modern sniper rifles, any more AR's other than the M4 and AK, or any SMGs whatsoever. It might happen. At the moment there are technical issues to fix, and the sort of features you're looking for will be added much later. Also, the game is going for a survival tone, so don't expect a massive amount of hardcore military weapons. They are also reducing the spawn-rates of the M4 and the .357 Magnum in the upcoming patch, so they're going to get more rare before (and if) they become plentiful.

Why some people even do play DayZ ?

DayZ can be frustrating. You can roleplay, to an extent. Just remember that you are roleplaying in an apocalypse. People kill eachother because they think if they shoot first then they survive, they kill for food, ammo and other supplies. Some kill because in game terms, they are psychopaths. Mad, violent people turned savage by the apocalypse. Some of them are actually just shitty people who want to see you suffer, in game and in real life. That is a part of the atmosphere too. You want the roleplaying to be civil, but civilization is over. I assure you, that if you keep playing you will learn how to die less often. You will start to learn who is trying to trick you. You will learn to stay hidden and avoid people you don't know you can trust. And sometimes you really will get the experience you want. I have helped people out with gear and weapons and I have handcuffed them at gunpoint and taken their can-openers for myself. I have seen people like you running out in the open from the forest, and chosen not to shoot because I don't want or need to ruin that guy's day. Those guys who asked you about a soccer team. You wanted to know why they had to ask you at gunpoint. They might have been "bullying" you, but they also were protecting themselves. You could have had a hidden gun and shot one of them before they killed you. Everyone is paranoid... or crazy. It's all a part of the experience. But here, watch this video. It might make you feel a bit better.

    Non KoS Test server proposal?

The amount of uncertainty and untested misconceptions I've seen thrown about these forums in my short time here suggests that this is a good idea. This is not a thread about KoS, this is a thread about testing. These misconceptions are created because there are some things you can't attain a definitive conclusion in a "live testing environment", you actually need a controlled environment where you can refine your results by process of elimination. When I was playing a lot of Battlefield 3, I belonged to a community at Symthic.com where we would find bugs and derive exact values through testing in private servers and examination of the game code. Go there some time and look at the weapon stats. Those do not come from DICE, those came from the community. I once spent at least an hour in a private server with three others repeatedly killing and reviving eachother under controlled conditions to test the exact boundaries of the hitboxes and their different damage multipliers from multiple angles. Symthic even had large undertakings to collate the data and findings in a concise, well-reasoned manner and submit a report to DICE that affected the content of future patches. This was a massive development studio backed by EA, and Symthic found hundreds of issues their paid QA teams never discovered, and this was months after release, not in the open alpha stage. The DayZ team is tiny by comparison, and BI does not have the resources of EA. This idea is a good one and worth exploring if given the opportunity, both for the benefit of the community and DayZ's development. Need I mention that the Battlelog forums never got shit done other than flaming eachother and calling for nerfs and buffs regarding mechanics they did not understand?

    Blood VS Saline.

Has anyone tried donating blood with a healthy status? It might be a good idea if you're fed and hydrated to fill some blood-bags. Maybe eat and have a drink to get yourself back to healthy (if blood loss cancels it. I have lost healthy stat after blood loss to a zombie). Then you're healthy again and have some blood for your next emergency. I think that blood should definitely be better than saline from a risk/reward game mechanic perspective. I'm not too sure about the real world medical applications, except when I had a heart infection and resulting ongoing cardiac arrests I was vomiting from the pain, and before I was diagnosed correctly I had to be given intravenous saline because my stomach wasn't retaining the water I needed for a good three days. The saline was an emergency fix for my dehydration, not blood volume or pressure. I could see that working in game if you are sick and dehydrated but some sort of sickness is causing you to empty your stomach before you can process the water into your hydration pool. Ultimately, I am sure what we have now is not the system the devs are planning to implement. I'm not sure how realistic they want it to be, but the inconsistency right now and the amount of (useless) medical items already in the game suggests that big changes will come to this system.

10 minute is not enough to loot dead bodies you put down

http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1viuhu/psa_people_who_are_upset_about_bodies_despawning/ Hicks was just saying that running back to your body isn't a feature. This is an temporary optimization implemented because it is simple. I'm sure a better solution will be coded in. I think adding a rule where every player can only have one corpse per server (maybe two, max) would cut down on the total amount of corpses really well, encourage people to be more careful rather than just sprinting to their body, and not effect PVP and (more importantly) the emergent atmosphere of player corpses so adversely. "Your story" should extend to where and how you died.

What do you do when you find heaven?

Careful. South is the North-West airfield. That is group PVP territory and a massive, spread out loot spot. Head east for a bit first, then south. I actually recommend heading east along that railroad (a long run, to be sure) and when you get to the coast you can take a look at Rify, the wrecked cargo ship. It's a spectacular sight if you haven't been. This is assuming you're more of an isolationist. Also, it seems like the majority of new spawns are on the eastern coast as well. Good luck and safe travels.

    Graphic Card for DayZ SA

I have a GTX 570 and I haven't gotten any noticeable frame drops except for near the big apartment complexes and a little stutter going through the stables at the Stary sphere. But to be honest I am starting to push that card a little. I have a feeling that some of the games coming out in 2014 are going to push my settings down lower than I'd like. Frame drops in Arma games can actually be related to CPU power, as the simulation aspects can crunch a lot. You might want to post that to see if it is your bottleneck. Ram too while you're at it. Also, I'm pretty sure that graphic upgrades are on the cards going by some of Rocket's posts. It might not be the best time to make a decision on a card during the alpha. If you do, you might want to future proof a little, or perhaps Arma 3 might be a better benchmark for draw distance and lighting effects.

What do you do when you find heaven?

Be careful up there. Up the hill a bit (North I believe) there are some spots with good trees and foliage for cover, where you can lay prone and get a good sniper angle into both the top and bottom barracks I believe. You can check if the internal doors and front gate are open from there. If you go north over and down the hill you can find a house with a well if you're nervous about filling your canteen inside a military spawn. Straight Northeast from that well (or follow the road if you like) and cross the highway there is a decent loot area as well, with several warehouses, stables, and at least six garages. It looks a bit unfinished up there, but it's also quite a low traffic area. I sort of live up there in the desolate northern wastes. I grab food in Gvodzno and follow the railroad north of there, stopping at the train station/carpark on the way. It's a nice way to go wide of the traffic between the northern military spawns. I suppose I would have kept it to myself but some-one had to invite the tourists. Oh, and you can park a vehicle there. There is a road that leads to the gate. Then again you'd have to drive up the airfield and through tent city or maybe along the eastern wall. Fairly risky.

Currency - what would it be?

Remember supply and demand. A stick and rags are very common and mostly worthless. But you find a guy crawling around with a broken leg and suddenly it is a seller's market. Extortion comes into play when you broke his legs. It's something else when your friend breaks his legs, leaves, and then you come around the corner with a splint. Fraud, maybe? I should stop giving you sick fucks these ideas.

M4 in your hands and Mosin on your back, or visa versa?

I like that idea. The component system would allow for more gun variation without having to actually make entirely new guns. Hold up, this just made me remember the HK417. That fires 7.62x51. I'm not sure it is actually as modular as the M4 though. I imagine the only thing that would mount on that would be the stock.

Trading is done with one hand. The other hand holds a pinless grenade. As a small businessman in a free-fire market, insurance is essential.

Vehicle overhaul in DayZ compared to ArmA

Also no auto-hover, even if it is a real thing. No automatic parachutes either. You should have to equip that shit and it replaces your backpack. Anyway, choppers aren't coming for a while if they are coming at all. Do we have any confirmed mentions of Rocket's plans for vehicles? Battle-bus? Specific engine components?

Vehicle overhaul in DayZ compared to ArmA

Holy shit, tanks? They take, what, three to operate? Then you have to load them with shells, which would either have to be carried two-handed or take up more than 8 slots (can't fit in a pair of cargos or a vest). Not to mention treads and really specific engine components. That's just the beginning. Then we need RPGs to take them out. We'd need destructible buildings... Just how much effort do you want the devs to put into something that a tiny fraction of players could ever have, shouldn't have, and if they did would mess up the balance and immersion. Think battle-bus, "Technical", maybe armed hummer. And that's ambitious.
